Heaps of great music videos being released today that are absolute works of art. The 80s was amazing but doesn't have a monopoly on quality music or clips.
Miss Them, but, I do believe that we're Heading for a Real PROMISING ERA, when we rediscover QUALITY AUDIO, and the capabilities of Blu-Ray and digital capabilities. ABSOLUTELY ! ! ! 😂 ❤ 😅 ❤ 😊 ❤
I concur, and if you concentrate hard enough, you might just hear ole Pepper Brooks [played by Jason Bateman in the classic "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" (2004)] sharing his iconic input, "It's gotta be the hair Cotton. It's beautiful. Feathered and Lethal!" 🤣😂
My Go-To favourite feel good video clip of all time! That hair. Those looks. The random character popups. The sax player hangin around. The gal. The drum fills at the end... Take me back!
I remember when this song was massive back in 1987- you couldn't escape it. It was everywhere! Such an Aussie classic. What a beautiful restoration of the video too. Everything looks gorgeous!
Somewhere in an alternate universe...this was a NO 1 single. Classic track from a most excellent CD. Man of Colours was one of the most played tapes on my personal stereo growing up.
That alt. Universe was Australia - it smashed its way up to #1. Electric Blue also hovered in the top 10 and top 40 for some time. It was a big year for music too, with 15 different number 1 singles on the Aussie charts, of which 5 were Aussie or Kiwi bands.
I've taught my daughter the basics of "good" 80s and "bad" 80s, but soon I'll have to introduce her to the handful of songs, like this one, that transcended 80s cheese to become something truly f***ing glorious. I mean it's remarkable. These guys could barely keep a straight face when they made this video, yet... this song is pure magic. You cannot make a better pop song than this. I defy you to do it. You cannot.
It's like the perfect white bread, kraft single grilled cheese you make when home sick from school. It's not haute cuisine, but sometimes its just perfect and transcends.
80's beautiful decade at his best. Icehouse band part of the Golden era of music. Whoever you are, if you’re listening to this, you have a very, very good taste in music! 🤗💯 👍
Great job guys for releasing this hd version. I still remember buying this on cassette back in 1987. Such a great 80's sound with this song. "Crazy" is another great song as well. My taste in great music brought me here.
3rd time watching this on UA-cam, but I've heard it more on the radio. It's nostalgia for us older generations. Younger generations should learn the history and backstories of old music like these songs and amazing others❤
Me too! Heard “Crazy” again on the radio today. More Aussie heyday 80s music, borne from pub rock, on the radio is only a good thing. I hope we can get more mature musicians and bands again soon. There’s only so many generic 18-22 year-olds-singing-songs-they-didn’t-write one can take before you realise what we’ve lost.
I have moved away from Australia to Vietnam but DAMN IT this is the song that makes me proud to be Australia. I dont care if Australia is rich financially i just want us to be cultural beautiful like how i remember in the nineties. 80s was so culturally rich too and inspired the 90s I love Australia from that time period.
@@arsenelupiniii8040 look towards asia, especially south east asia. thirty years time south east asia is the new china but everyone will love south east asia unlike china i dont know hahaha i already have plans to buy a house in Vietnam and a house in Japan
Not an Aussie myself. I was born and grew up in the small town of Klang in Malaysia back in the 90s with lots of relatives living in AUS. Somehow growing up in that era, this song was always playing at Lite & Easy FM (our local retro English radio station). Thought I hardly hear the song ever again after the 2000's, it was only until when I was doing my postgraduate studies in Sydney when I somehow stumbled over it again at Coles in Broadway playing it. The moment I heard it, I said 'Hey this was the song, damn this definitely brought so much memories of the good old days'. Then I realized the video was shot in CBD Sydney. Cheers mate!
FM radio memories. I worked at Apache Radio KNNB 88.1. EASTERN ARIZONA . First job, best job. This tune made it on the turntables. And through the airwaves at the speed of light.
Fantastic song, in my top 200 of all time, and absolutely the all-time greatest, most magnificent mullet ever! Great work Iva Davies, you're a legend mate.
Fantastic clear HD and fantastic song.... Thanks Iva and Icehouse for being a part of my life in the 80's. I saw you guys at Expo 88 in Brisbane - you played on the River Stage....

Electric Blue was also an R-rated adult video series. Local libraries would rent out VHS copies that were either worn out from people pausing the rude bits, or lost because customers failed to return them.
Back in the days when music videos were relatable to everyone. Golden era of music.
Yup, better years for sure, and we took it for granted.
That's 100% true. Music and music videos were awesome in the 1980's.
Jeezus christ... im nearing 50 and that comment is giving ME ok boomer vibes...
Heaps of great music videos being released today that are absolute works of art. The 80s was amazing but doesn't have a monopoly on quality music or clips.
How is this video relatable? I don’t hang out on rooftops in NYC playing a keytar with a mullet
Take me back to the 80's....and I'd like to stay there forever😮💨😮💨😮💨
Vamos a los 80 ❤
I can relate to that... Words can't describe how magical the 80s were...❤
Broo u guys probably had it GOOD😭😭😭
😢😢😢😢
On I would love to go back to the 80's and stay there
Saxophones, keytars, big hair and classy ladies...
It doesn't get much better than that, folks.
❤
80s such a great time for AMAZING music... Miss the days
And amazing times.....take me back please😮💨😮💨😮💨

This song and video were awesome in the late 1980's and still awesome today, in 2024! One of my absolute favorites 😊
Presente ochentero 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Killers have a great version of this song.
Awesome 😎👍
Muy bonita canción, la voz del cantante estupenda, es mejor canción que muchas de los 80 que eran más populares
That mullet should have made it to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame all on its own! 😂
At least the Australian Rock n' Roll HoF. 🇦🇺
It’s rumored that that mullet inspired Billy Ray Cyrus to grow his Uber-mullet…
Words of COMPLETE Truth.....spot on
That's not a mullet, it's a mane.
So happy to see this in great quality! Love how the sax player wanders around the video looking bored until his part comes up!
Agreed.
I think he was in his mind translating the beauty of the scenery into how he might best angle the sax during his solo.
The Drummer looks like he got his happy pill that day!
Listen to that snare drum!@@arsenelupiniii8040
The real question is where's the drummer? Totally got the shaft.
WOW looks much better than it did when i first saw it 37 years a go!
Your still my number one local group, Keep the 80's alive guys.
What a sax solo. Pure 80’s gold.
80s were the best best era to grow up in
Yes was there and lived it😊❤❤go bak in a heartbeat ❤was greatest time didn't realize it😊
indeed cause you live the 90s being 21 and have a shorter mullet at 50s
You get the whole 1980's bingo card with this song/video, and that's a good thing. Mullets, keytar, sax solo, pretty lady, ...
I didn't think keytars were real until I saw this video.
Plus electric drums
The girl is in her 60s now. Incredible.
The era of original creativity. Classics from the first note.
yes yes, exactly what you said, the most memorable tunes, the best talented musicians, love the 80s
Petition to bring back the sax solo.

What a beautiful restoration of the video too. Everything looks gorgeous!
Strange here in Europe I've never heard this before. I know Icehouse for their other hit Crazy but this one must not have broken through here.
This song and countless others from the 80’s takes me back to such a great time in life…so many memories. ❤
Great video quality update. Great song indeed.
This song is so perfect 🥰
Omg the 80s and early 90s
Music and videos mattered
100% true 😊
I concur, what a time to be alive it was then. The 80s were the best, and the 90s were still pretty great too.
The best music was the 70’s and 80’s. This is my music takes me to a world of peace and love. 🙏🥰✌🏼
This song came out in 87 when I was 20 and this is the first time I’ve ever saw this video. Great song! Needed more sax!
My God that mullet is epic. Almost overpowers the amazing song
Yeah, finally a HD transfer of the master - looks and sounds fantastic for this iconic Aussie masterpiece !! Thanks Iva !

About time we have a quality upload of this '80s pop gem.
I remember this playing on the radio constantly as a kid. Brings back good memories. ❤
The sax on the sunset was always a great shot by the director.
Loved that shot!!!👍👍👍👍

Nothing is taken too seriously if it’s created in Sydney, Australia. 😂
May I also suggest it be paired with Hypnotize Me by Wang Chung. Make it a whole cheese platter.
Great Southern land SHOULD be the Australian national anthem - the one we've got is CRAP - the American national anthem sends shivers down the spine
You should let your daughter decide herself, she is beautiful

G'day, it's was my young fresh face and your music that helped me land my wife, your music is wonderful 👍 and so is she, cheers mates, Neil 🤠.
So glad this has been released. I have always loved this tune! Thanks
Co-written by John Oates! Oates said in an interview that if Icehouse hadn't recorded it, he would have done it with Daryl Hall.
Interesting 🧐 🤔
Would have been perfect for them.
I just can't seem to get enough of your music, Iva 😊!!!! Thanks for the beautiful music!!!!
Always loved the sunset sax shot! Great to see it in HD

Came for the music, stayed for the mullets.
And a keytar too as a bonus.

If a boy had a chance
A chance with someone like you
Are you gonna break his heart?
Let him cry for the moon?
Are you hiding somewhere behind those eyes?
I just freeze (I just freeze)
Every time you see through me (see through)
And it's all over you
Electric blue
On my knees (on my knees)
Help me, baby (help me)
Tell me, what can I do?
Electric blue
Oh, I had a dream
For a moment I believed it was true
Oh, I'd have given anything
Just to be there with you
Are you hiding
Somewhere behind those eyes?
I just freeze (I just freeze)
Every time you see through me (see through)
And it's all over you
Electric blue
In too deep (in too deep)
Standing here waiting
As I'm breaking into (ooh)
Electric blue
I can see (I can see)
Can see that it may be just a vision for you
Electric blue
On my knees (on my knees)
Help me, baby (help me)
Tell me what can I do?
Electric blue
Help me baby
Yeah, yeah
Are you hiding somewhere behind those eyes? (behind those eyes)
I just freeze every time you see through me (see through)
And it's all over you
Electric blue
In too deep (in too deep)
Standing here waiting as I'm breaking in two (in two)
Electric blue
I can see (I can see)
Can see that it may be just a vision of you (of you)
Electric blue
On my knees (on my knees) (what can)
Help me baby tell me what can I do? (I do)
Electric blue (behind those eyes)
I just freeze every time you see through me
And it's all over you
Electric blue
In too deep (in too deep) (I'm)
Standing here waiting as I'm breaking in two (in two)
Electric blue
I can see (I can see)
Can see that it may be just a vision of you
Electric blue
On my knees (on my knees) (what can)
Help me baby tell me what can I do? (I do)
