Seventy eight year old Rev. Prim Vaiphei, a member of the five Kuki families comprising 24 people in all, who were forcibly removed by the Manipur state authorities from their homes in New Lambulane in the centre of Imphal on the night of 1st/2nd September and taken to an Assam Rifles camp 25 miles away, has said that he regards the Meiteis as “my brothers” and says he has “already forgiven” the black sheep amongst them who are responsible for the terrible things done to the Kuki community. “Who am I to judge them?” he said in an interview this morning, four days after he and 23 others like him were forcibly evicted from their homes shortly after midnight of the 1st/2nd September.

Think his case, he did not suffer any bad actions from Meitei untill today, he should possibly forgive them, moreover the reason for forgiving them is not happened to them untill exodus came to him from his home. Taken out them luckly in the midnight was not done by any meitei, but security force. For his case, no points for blaming meitei, he had. While many tribals dead in the hands of meitei, let him and family pray and thank to God for saving their life untill today. He has not any point for forgiving meitei. Hope would be within him as long as living together with meiteis but seems may be failed at last.
Rev. Prim's nephew, (elder's sister's son) is probably the first person to die in the conflict.
He wasn't directly killed by the Meiteis but he died due to stroke/heart attack out of fear while the entire village was running away on 3rd night of May.
His village, "salam Patong" which is perhaps the oldest kuki village in Manipur was burnt down on 4th May.
Also on 4th May, his daughter's house was burnt down in Imphal.
The father of the girl who's paraded naked is closely known to him - the one who was killed. Rev. Prim couldn't sleep when that video came out as he knows the family well.
Don't assume he's living comfortably in Imphal. Let's refrain from passing quick judgments. He and his family have endured the same hardships. Despite the challenging circumstances, he's still raising his voice from that place, as a Man of God 🥺💔.

Considering the ongoing violence and tension between the two communities, it is quite understandable for Rev Vaiphei's community to feel uncomfortable with his forgiving heart. Yet I find Rev. Vaiphei is speaking as a follower of his Lord Jesus. Hence, his view shows that God is speaking and his children are listening to Him. It's time for all so-called people affiliated with any religion, i mean both the communities, to pray for a peaceful solution. My respect for the religion that Rev. Vaiphei follows. ❤

Our beloved Rev S Prem Vaiphei is oldies and believe in old stories and affectionate old times. There was much love and care in those days. Not to talk of his generation, even in my childhood times during the 80s there was so much love and understanding among communities. Things drastically changed in the 90s when youth were radical among the Meiteis.
Our beloved Rev S Prem Vaiphei still live in 70s and 80s mindset. However, Manipur has changed considerably and Manipur has become totally radicalised. This has proved that Meitei and Kukis could not live together, the last few Kukis could not be given protection even by the great nation India. Total Separation is the only solution.

I have been watching interviews after interviews with Mr. Karan with people belonging to the Meitei and kuki communities relating to the ongoing clash, what I have noticed or experienced so far is the manner and difference he is making while questioning the Meitei guests and kuki guests. He will intentionally counter the Meitei interviewee but not the kuki. Having said this I am of the opinion that he must be renamed Mr. Karan Haokip.
