I met the guy at his Bakersfield warehouse. He seems like a cool dude. He was willing to cut a good deal on some parts he had already fabricated. I'm still going to buy from them. Especially that 4:24 low gear for my suzuki.
@@BalmersWorkshop I have a Samurai front axle. Have to run spacers though. Sammy axles cheaper than yota axles in NC. Trussed with my 5.13 r&p from tracker diff. Also have a Spartan locker.
Calmini ripped me off. They took my money for a lift kit for my tracker and never shipped the lift. I called and called and all I got was the run around.
I'm sorry to hear yet another sad story from a potential Calmini customer.... just like the person who commented previously! I've heard so much bad news about Calmini's "customer service" from my own customers that I figured it would be a common issue. Being Canadian, as most of my customers are, I figured maybe Calmini's non-service was reserved for foreign customers but, from the sounds of it, they're screwing their American customers as well. It's amazing they're still in business.
You make a very well supported point! I have heard endless horror stories about Calmini's customer service. Still, an interesting product that my customer somehow got a hold of...
Wow, that 2 door is in mint condition. There is nothing even remotely that clean out here on the Canadian west coast. I wish Calmini would actually ship out orders, their kits look well researched and built. But not receiving your order for a year and a half gives me pause!
Well, you'll be surprised to find out that the vehicle in the video is indeed a BC west coat cruiser! It is in amazingly good shape but I've had at least 6 Sidekick/Trackers, that are in this sort of condition, come through the shop. It's shocking but true ;) Yes, good products (for the most part) from Calmini but the worst customer service in the industry.
imagine if you had just cloned the kit so people could actually buy it and then receive it. It looks good on this car, but noone delivers that kit for real so thats a problem.
Thanks for your comment. It's a customer's rig, not mine so I'm unsure what tires it will wind up with but I don't believe he was planning on going larger than 32".
Hello man, thanks for the video. Where and when did you buy this kit? I´m from Brazil, and i´m trying to find one these Calmini kits to buy and i´m not searching!!! Please help me!!! Your car is incredible!!!
hanks very much for your comment! Calmini (the company which produces this lift) is notoriously unreliable in terms of actually shipping the order you've paid for - I would highly advise avoiding them. I've even heard there are multiple law suits against them... If you're looking for a lift kit, My company offers a 2", 3" and 4.5" lift kit. Please contact me through my website for more info (there's a contact form) : www.balmerfab.com
Thank you for your comment/question. I would be very, very surprised if this kit would work on a 2nd gen - even though the stock suspension systems are similar between the 1st and 2nd gens, I'm sure there's enough discrepancies to render this kit useless for all but the 1st gens. Even then the kit requires a few mods to fit properly...
@@BalmersWorkshop im not super worried about making modifications im moastly worried about being able to so an allignement when im done. At this point none of my shocks or springs are for chevy tracker and have had to be modified in some way
This bumper is made by my competition. It's a good looking bumper in my opinion but I have heard stories of welds breaking as well as other issues with it... I may wind up offering a similar, permanent winch style bumper for these vehicles so stay tuned to the website www.balmerfab.com
According to Calmini - Addition of this add-on system allows for more total caster for better on road feel, drastically improved camber curve throughout the entire range of wheel travel, and less bump steer than stock.

Is still in the same place as the web page? In Bakersfield
All the wat from New Zealand love this build wished you were here mate
Thanks very much! ...I'm a bit late with my response to say the least, thanks for watching!
I’m more impressed that Calmini actually shipped out a lift kit. 😵
I completely agree - a rare thing indeed.
Wow I'm not the only one
Thanks for a nice overview, really dig that kit.
Calmini cautionary tale. How many businesses operate like them and get away with that? How is it possible? Mind boggling
...I'm a bit late with my response to say the least, thanks for watching! It's amazing but they're still in business ;)
Looks like a pretty simple project.
Please keep up the awesome content. Your great work makes me want to do better work on my 95 Geo tracker! Doing that SAS as we speak.
Thanks very much for your comment and all the best with your build! Are you going with Toyota axles or just swapping the front out for a Samurai axle?

congrats on your youtube progress! good to see!
Thanks Brad! Stop by the shop with your 240 if you've got it insured!
hi, I also own a geo tracker. my tracker is very hard. did this kit make the car softer?
It super rare because Calmini sells but never follows through and actually ships anything!!!!

Someone needs to buy this company and pull it's head out
Ya, it's company fraught with issues, it seems...
Yes more
Thanks for watching and stay tuned :)
hello! Could this modification be applied to a 2015 Grand Vitara?
No, the 2015 model has a uni-body and is a much differently designed vehicle. This will work for 99-03 Vitaras and Trackers only.
Nice car
How much was this kit? Rough country only has taller coils
Thanks for your comment. This is a customer's vehicle so I'm unaware of what he paid...
The calmini kit everything $1,500 aint seen no videos of anybody using it probably the price geeze
Any updates from the customer?

How long did it take Calmini to ship that?

Does anybody offer the same lift??
Not that I know of.
I can't believe some other company hasent build the same lift ,do u think it's worth it for the price?
Whats the point of this kit?
According to Calmini - Addition of this add-on system allows for more total caster for better on road feel, drastically improved camber curve throughout the entire range of wheel travel, and less bump steer than stock.
They don't ship your parts
Yes, that's generally a fact as far as I've heard... pretty cool kit but terrible service.
Do they build the same kit for for 92 geo tracker?
I believe so... just check their website. I would suggest reading customer reviews of Calmini before dealing with them though...
Ok thanks I heard alittle about there products ,do u know who else has a system like there's rough country?
Do u suppose I can put a small v-8 in geo? And what do u recommend?
