the gorge on I40 near me going into north carolina is pretty curvy or the 25/70 route of tn that gets you into hotsprings, north carolina is very curvy and bunch of hills on top of that
I dropped the fuel take. Looks a lot better than I thought. Had a little trash in it. Sock was clean too. It was a itch to do by myself. It had about 10 gallons of fuel in it. I drained fuel cleaned take. Got it back in. Lift pump is working not sure how good. I’m going to replace it just in case. I’ll bench test it when I get a tester. I’d rather spend money on part than buy tester right now. Next going to check fuel lines up to filter. Going to clean bowl and change filter. I found metal shards in bowl. Put it back together crank it see if it helps if not. IP will be next. Diesel is $5.69 in Selma NC.
Thank you Jesse for the reply I guess I’m gonna have to try to figure out how to get down in there and check that pipe do the clamp stretch out should I just get a new clamp also. Sorry I’m such a pain in the ass with all the questions Ty
I have a stock Express passenger van with the 6.5. I love to see your videos of your car upgrade. Is it the same steps for upgrading the engine of my van as it is for your truck? I want mine to have a happy life
Jesse Pelkey I want to thank you very much for calling and taking the time to heaven help me also want everybody to know that watches your channels that you do take the time out of your day to try to help people may God bless you and your family
God I wish mine started that easy. It sounds the same as mine. Straight piped I assume.. can you tell me if when you do the lift pump pressure test (mine is about 7psi) that the line pressure should bleed off after about 10 minutes? I thought there was a check valve to prevent that. Sorry for being off topic but I couldn't find a video of yours explaining the fuel system.
@@edwardmyers4616 hahaha all in good time, my truck is last up on the build list as of right now but it definitely won't disappoint once she's done, inside and out hahaha
I'm looking into buying one of these trucks they seem cheap and reliable plan on running jet fuel with a quart of oil in every tank do you think it would hold up to it? My uncles 7.3 powerstroke ran good on jet fuel.
We should have put your GoPro on the tailgate facing down maybe or down and out because you don't get the wind blowing at all on it and you would hear nothing but exhaust most likely cuz you have the back axle bump just saying
Jesse I think I found my exhaust leak it seems like it’s coming from that downpipe from the turbo there’s a clamp there but I’m having a hard time getting to it do I have to take that shroud off the turbo and also what kind of gasket would it be thank you bud
There should be a gasket between the turbo outlet and the down pipe, at least none that I've used. The clamp would be tapered along with the beveled edges of the too with enough force to hold them tightly together. The down pipe could also be rusted a bit or bent prevent a tight seal.
Hey I was wondering so I have a 97 Chevy 6.5 diesel suburban and the trans is acting funny it goes into gear just fine but reverse acts up has to rev it up to move it backwards and I have the first three gears then no forth tops at 50 mph and barely does it do u have any idea what it could be
Not necessarily, you can get the lower intake gaskets to have the little block off plate installed but I always recommend just getting the lower f style intake
@@JessePelkey1 yeah I thought those where the only options lol It will probably be rebuilt next year it should make it till then, it runs great! No check engine lights or any of that
That sounds nice man! So question. I’m running a heath tune. I just replaced my injection pump. I’m at around -1.84 tdc offset should I keep trying to Get it to 1.9 or let er rip
Perfect I sent a rod cap out the side of my oil pan got it down to the fort block have another piston cracked so Im just making sure stock rods should be good I only want 15 psi 3bar gm sensor
You look like you feel like crap. Take a break man. I don’t know how you do all you do. Maybe make a video of Jesse’s day off. A real day off. I think I can replace the lift pump by myself. “I think”. That’s funny. I was told long ago not to do any thinking, I wasn’t good at it. Took lift pump off. I think a frog laid eggs in it. I shook it around to see if any trash would come out. It sounds like there is a frog stuck in there. That can’t be normal. For real when I shake it. It sounds like a frog grunting or a duck call. Feel better soon. I don’t know if I can handle the pressure by my self for too long.
This question is so stupid. I don’t know how to ask it. I need clarification. I have watched every video, read every article. Everyone says same thing. “ You need scanner/software to set the timing”. Please correct me if I’m wrong. The scanner/software does absolutely nothing to “set/change” timing. The only way to set/change timing is to turn the pump. It would be better said “ scanner/software reads timing so “you” can turn pump to set timing correctly. I was thinking that scanner/ software was to adjust timing electronically. It’s my understanding that you do not have to relearn TDC when you just change injection pump. Remember I have never worked on a vehicle before. Please be patient with me.
Them 6.5s sound amazing I remember the first time I drove one every chatter from the bridges shook the truck.
Your Engine sounds great man.
Thanks man I appreciate it 👍
Sounds pretty damn cool!! Thanks man
And I thought some of our back roads were twisty until I spent a week down there last August wow some of those corners sneak up on ya

Exact same steps man, for the most part the engines basically stayed the same throughout the platforms 👍

Sure do, I like listening to my exhaust and the tires roaring, don't really listen to music while I drive.

3"down pipe 4" straight pipe to a 10"tip
