I grew up near that small airport, i remember that day as well.. but today i got to know how it happend. Thank you for investigate each insidens even what i thought was forgotten
So addictive
Ikr
Ikr I love watching people die.....
Same.
I know right
You so evil
pilots did quite good tbh
A lot of people are kinda blaming the pilots that they could have put reverse thrusts and all. Yes, your points are all right. But sometimes, the points you mentioned are pretty wrong. I will explain.
For the people who are saying that the reverse thrust could have been enabled, the RJ 100 does not have Reverse Thrust, according to my research. The reason why is because of the perceived reduced effectiveness of predicting conditions.
For the people who wanted to know how, the runway was wet because of some cleaning. After the plane landed, because of hydro planning, the plane is keep on slipping and slipping. The breaks which they tried were failed due to hydroplanning.
Any mistakes or any new points, please let me know. :). I am welcome with new points or mistakes
I think these points all make great sense. However, I'm watching this and yelling at them to just power on, take off and go around! Why didn't they just do that? As soon as the warning for no spoilers came on, with no reverse thrust on that airplane, and a wet runway, it's probably best to just go around. If I've used up over 2/3's of the runway and I'm still at 80knots, I'd say that it's probably best to power on and go around! He shouldn't be trying to swerve to slow down hoping it'll work and he'll stop in time. The pilots played a big part in this accident.
@@PupSentinel, that one, of course, I agree.
@@CaptainJadenAR Now after reading about the accident on Wikipedia, the plane was apparently past the point of no return by the time the captain applied full emergency braking, disabling the plane's ABS, and was too slow to attempt to take off again. I still believe that the pilots should've taken off when they realized their spoilers were not functioning instead of trying to salvage the landing.
@@PupSentinel, indeed. I don't blame many pilots a lot, but yeah, they could have gone around.
@@PupSentinel well in order to take off you need high speed. They could run out of runway before they could safely take off. And second of all not the fact that the spoilers would work from second attempt. It's bad that this type of plane has no thrust reverse.
Cause: Runway overrun due to hydroplaning
2:34 the smile on his face he was happy to land safetly then a second later no spoilers ...

Jdr
please show more of this
Unbelievable they didnt throttle up emmediatly and abort landing when no spoilers was indicated.
yeah. if they would have done that they would have survived and try a diff option. but no they yust kept on going till disaster
It would have taken 2 minutes to configure the aircraft from landing to takeoff
@@boomboomyourdoomdoom1767 What about TOGA?
@@UPB78 ok let’s put this together we put 10 seconds into it for pilot reaction time follow by 15 seconds for the flaps going from fully down to takeoff.
Then 3 seconds for the engines to reach full power
And by then the aircraft is doing like 60notes
@@boomboomyourdoomdoom1767 But it could've been done if they had tried the second they realized the spoilers weren't working, hey it's just an observation, i'm not saying it's their fault, it's clear that the situation was very critical and they didn't have enough time to second guess. And what about reversers? Not included with this airplane model?
It really could have been much worse indeed
Am hooked on to these like drugs nowadays .
What a failing airline, the avro rj 100 needs....REVERSE THRUSTS!!!
The pilot’s could have reacted better, when they noticed the spoilers werent working they could have goed around, Their speed was of 80 Knots if they just speeded up they could have gotten around.
it was also hydroplaning.
“Goed around”
It’s “gone around”
bru plays ptfs and dosent know what hydroplaning is smh

@@justinw-bs7053 what does ptfs have to do with this its a game
Omg! Oktober 2006?! I was 7 months old and lived on Stord 🤯 only 15 minuttes away by car
HOW CAN A AVRO CRASHED
the plane hates them
When they noticed they couldn´t stop the plane on time then why not put full throtle to go around and try another landing?
maybe, by the time they realised, it was too late for full throttle, cuz if it crashed by any chance, the crash would be very intense.
No spoilers? TOGA, Circle, Diagnose?
Even with spoilers, the plane can still can't stop because of wet runway.
New episode boys!
Yay
and girls!
This isn’t new. This was in Season 17 I believe
🙂
@@CaptainJadenAR it's Season 15
I guess pilots faults/Errors, warnings came up so early. That was enough for a G-around
Its not pilot error, The spoilers didn’t come out. The BAe 146 can land without spoilers so the reason why it ran off the runway was hydroplaning.
Hydro planning. Because of the wet runway, The BAe 146 can’t stop much. The more wet the runway is, the less the plane’s stopping performance
@@kathy8770 I just figured it out, yah you where right
Yes but you wrong, As the gear sensor recognizes ground contact its essential to deploy spoilers which in this case was not working. However as the pilots deploy the spoilers so early and assuming the early warning message of failed deployment they were easily able to go around even if they were half way on the runway due to there being no obstacles and a cliff drop in order to get airborne. So this is pilot error as they were already at 85 KIAS and could easily abort the landing and set an alternate arrival. According to your statement above you claim the BAE 146 cannot land without spoilers however that is only due to the airports runway length and its wet conditions. If they aborted they could easily choose another arrival airport.
Some people need to rewatch the video before commenting. So you think the pilots didnt know what they were doing. When you panic even when driving a car you forget whether the car has breaks.
Why n spoilers?
Yay
New episode
This was in Season 17, I believe

@@v12ts.gaming, thanks, man. I checked and you were right :D
I just don’t get why he didn’t go around

are the spoilers that important
isnt the breaks doing 90% of it or something
Yes, the spoilers help the plane stay on the ground.
The spoilers dump all of the lift and the aircraft has all of its weight on the tarmac rather than the wings still producing lift, most commercial aircraft have spoilers that deploy automatically when the main gear touches down.

Why they didn't go around dumb pilots 😂
Because they were hydroplaning. The runway was wet after cleaning and the plane they fly do not have thrust reversers sooo
if you think pilots are dumb, then become a pilot and do better
12 people survived, but 4 people died with 12 injuries. Total of 16 people.
And new episode!
Some of these shot’s are incredible how did the camera man do it without getting run over
231 views in seconds wow!
Another incident when pilots bid to save 5 minutes, resulted a crash. Heck those 5 minutes.
mah dud you can always go around
I think that there could have been a malfunction with the spoilers that prevented the plane to come to a complete stop. How come that they didn't have thrust reverses?
thats how the plane was made.
The BAE 146 / RJ 100 type aircraft are fitted with engines that are not equipped with reverse thrust capability, the spoilers dump lift and settle the aircraft weight onto the tarmac where its powerful brakes will bring the aircraft to a stop, the crew should have carried out a "Go around" getting the aircraft back into the air and sorting the problem before attempting another landing, standard procedure.
@@gregedwards1087 Im not a pilot, nor have literally anyyy experience with planes or model planes. Even i said to myself, with that amount of speed id of put the engines into full send and got back into the air esp with an airport with no room for error
Hydro planning.
