I graduated from Bend High School, God gave me marvelous foster parents in Redmond, Oregon! I love Oregon and am really enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing ! Have fun , be cool, and stay safe!
I've driven that section of Oregon probably 8-10 times... each time I just find it so barren, kinda desolate, but pretty... then you find that little haven :) One of the most remote parts of our country. Sisters is amazing, everything feels different, the air, the trees, the people, the buildings/ambiance. VERY nice place
I enjoyed this video too much I'm watching it again! I'm kind of living through you until hopefully one day I can achieve my dreams and do this full time? maybe who knows.. Take care!
Thank you for another great video! Look forward to every one and appreciate that you include the simple, day to day things as well as the landscape. It's the same feeling you get from reading a good book really, only it's nonfiction! Amazing resourcefulness and alternative to the rat race.
something that might help keep you cool when its warm out- get a long or short sleeve rash guard like surfers do. You can even get something similar at Wal-Mart in sporting area. Wet it with cool water or rather soak it. Squeeze it out and wear. If you have a fan on low blowing on you and wear that it will bring down your body temperature. 👍
beautiful:) So great you have the solar shower now. What a treat showering outside. Love that. I wonder if you worry about bears smelling food in your van and leaving the doors open?
I really like your videos. Thank you for this one, especially. I have been in love with the whole region of Bend for decades.....every time we would travel through it. There is an extremely cool park north of Bend, I think it is, which is so great for hiking down to. Your video made me wish I was there dry camping in the boonies. Fred Myers in Bend was always a designated stop.
I just started watching this video 5 minutes ago and you're on your way to Bend, Oregon. I sure hope you stop at Crater lake because when we went out west back in 2000 that was the most beautiful thing I saw. Yosemite was gorgeous too and the sequoias and the redwoods and Utah and Arizona but something magical about Crater lake that diamond covered water oh my ‼️☺️❤️
A friend of mine lived on the Deschutes River hid his truck under a camo tarp lived off the land for many months till the ranger found him I've heard so many stories of how beautiful it is just thought I'd share
Adventure Van Man..Beautiful scenery and great video. Drink plenty of filtered water, it helps! Some of the scenery in the canyon type area looks a lot like the area behind Carlsbad, New Mex. going west.
Hey,hers something you might want to try out..go to a plant nursery, buy some bug netting.they use that to keep bugs off plants...use it if you want to sleep outside (when it's too warm to sleep in your van.) on top of your van or in habit..over nite.I got some ,was planning of making a tent on top of my RV, and sleep on top with a mattress.
I've driven through eastern Washington but not eastern Oregon. I'm glad to see the area through your windshield Brian, if only to educate myself about another region I wouldn't want to call home. Perhaps it is the fact I live so close to the Pacific Ocean in a region with redwood trees, but desert like habitat doesn't much appeal to me. When you found the forest I was able to relax a bit. I sensed you felt the same.
Hi AVM, new sub here. Enjoyed this video, especially like that you provide the GPS coordinates. I recently traveled to the Pacific NW and plan on returning as a dispersed camper this fall. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the area with us.
That's a certified nomad shower young man. I've always used sports shorts and a 2 gal bug sprayer. It's a respectfully shower system and it's just as good as stripping down. No hastle .
Yes, nice campsite!! OR is really nice-haven't been in years. No worries about your being behind in e-mails - I totally know when you travel most internet communication, including the phone is spotty at best, out there. I like that actually. Well, traveling mercies! God bless!
I just got back from a few days in the Ochoco National Forest in central Oregon. It was hot but awesome! I have to get a way to shower as that is something I longed for (my beard reeked of smoke). Just stumbled upon your channel, subscribed!
I've been in Chehalis Washington the last 7 days. It's been in the 70°'s. nice! I'll be heading close to where you are leaving soon to set up a boondocking camp to be under the total eclipse Aug. 21. After watching this video I think I'll search for some elevation to help stay cool. Thx Brian!
Gorgeous area. Living nearby I can say there are TONS of free camp spots on alpine lakes, on rivers/creeks with mountain views ect. Too bad he didn't go down Cascade Lakes Highway.
Brian, I know you don't like to buy things but you may want to get a cooling pillow or a topper for your bed just to help with the heat... Just want to make sure you stay safe. Stay free and wander on..... Fay
Good comfortable night sleep is important especially when driving many hours. Get an air conditioner already as the summer is long. Also, a foldable canopy over your van will alleviate the heat on that tin can or at least consider throwing some Reflectix sheeting on it. When camping I hang a mosquito net over bed perhaps that would come in handy for you. Sleeping with the door open at night...playing Russian roulette? Sending positive vibes your way!
My bedside includes a marlin model 1894 .44 magnum lever action. I've had it for 25 years and it always connects. Just enough for a bear if it came to it, but also small enough for small game hunting with the proper loads. Gotta stay safe in the backcountry. The far west can be wild.
How cook is this, do more of the places you go, nice scenery...Do you ever camp out in tent when it gets too warm inside van. Like your cooking videos.
I would like to know where you bought the magnetic screen door for your van.good thing that you are leaving the hot weather behind. The monsoon season is starting here in San Diego and it has been muggy, yuck!Cheers
I did not know that Walmart carried them. I know they have the "As seen on TV merchandize but did not know they carried the magnetic screen door and its even cheaper than on Amazon.I will have to check my local wallymart.Thank you Sharon Gypsy dove.Cheers
Thank you, ThisSpotRules. That is also a good idea.I was reading that they sell door at Amazon that are made of fiberglass and last longer the material that you mention is it fiberglass or other type?Cheers
Hey Brian...hats off to another great video! I have a question for you, are you ever concerned about wild animals while deep in the woods? Not little critters but bears!
isn't Bend Oregon an amazing town so many great beers rivers and cool active people... went to see Phish there a couple years ago in the middle of town you would have loved it!!!!
Great video, Brian! I am trying to figure out the best way to make screens for my van. I have been following you since the very beginning, but seem to have missed the video on yours if you made one. Can anyone tell me if there is a video about how Brian made the screens?
man I think what appeals to me most about your life is not having to deal with the bullshit of living with people. I'm so frustrated everyday by living in my craziness. I'm living with my mom and wife who hate each other but mom has stage 4 liver cancer and can't live without help. sorry for dumping on you, I'm just saying that is what you don't have to put up with. consider yourself lucky. thanks for taking me out of my misery for short times. safe and happy travels my friend
Woah.....if you head on hwy 20 towards the beach....you will pass through Lebanon....my neck of the woods! Not sure if your videos are real time or weeks out....we are in an 84+ degree heatwave right now...heheheh. Sisters and Bend are almost 10 degrees warmer right now ...just checked. BUT!!!! Newport.....at the coast....is the place to be today!! 60 degree weather....!
I hate to ask,i hope its not that your tired of van life, watch all your videos and can't see that's changed, just hoping your still keeping your journey Going, just started 5 mos ago commenting on are channel, now going back commenting

Your in the hottest part of Oregon :-( wait till you get to the Coastal Range! You will sleep like a baby. Big Foot won't bother you. He loves Native American Flute, so play him a little tune. (Bend is so overpopulated now) Thanks to the new bypass it's easier to get through town now. West of town is awesome. Three Sisters...
I have problems with people stalking me so if I post a video of where I'm camped I have to leave that day. I strive to get ahead on my uploads so I can stay longer but it's always a challenge. 👍✌
Love your videos , looking to go full time in the future so I have a few questions if you would like to answer them. Do you travel every couple days because your bored or because you can due to mobile revenue ? I am struggling with the fact I don't have mobile revenue (but want to go full time ). I give everyone credit that does these videos because editing video is a full time job and all of you guys deserve whatever you get for your efforts. Anyway any advice is great advice . Thank you for your videos
There are tons of free camping through the Strawberry mountains. I emailed you before you left letting you know I knew E. Oregon for camping suggestions, but maybe it got lost in the shuffle.
How's your ham licence coming on ;) If you scan UA-cam for the term "qrp" which is ham-speak for low-power (~5W) and / or "field day" you'll get a zillion hits about operating mobile on short wave.
Check out Alsea Falls Recreation area in Alsea, Oregon. It's on BLM land, cheap camping. I don't know if there's any free camping there. Gorgeous and nice hike to the falls.

You seemed very tired at the beginning...you capture all emotions , trials and tribulations on your videos. Guess that's why I like your channel.
You really did look tired after your night on the boat ramp. Intro shot looks really good!
Great spot! Nice and green and shady. Looks refreshing :)
A pretty cool spot. That's what you start to get as you head into the Pacific Northwest. Green forests (my favourite camping kinda places).

What do the red marks on the trees mean?? Nice spot! & you pasta looked yummy!
+Nora Steel The red marks indicate which trees are being cut down. U.S. Forestry sells the trees to lumber companies. ✌
I can’t wait to get out of this state being stuck here working this seasonal job is really getting old I need to hit the road again!!! 47 days! Let’s hope I make it 😂
Are there bears in those woods? I'm not from the US so I always wonder when I see campsites like this
was that an old Winnie parked at the exit? I'm working on my 1973 Brave. Got the living space almost ready...I

Sweet video Bro.
great video
Brian noticed you don't seem to stay but a few days anywhere do you ever spend like 14 days in the same place, other than work camping
I have problems with people stalking me so if I post a video of where I'm camped I have to leave that day. I strive to get ahead on my uploads so I can stay longer but it's always a challenge. 👍✌

+PNWesty Hey thanks, unfortunately I'm a little behind so I have to move through Oregon faster than anticipated. I will be back though!!! 😊👍✌
Brian, I am like you, I hate hot weather,if it is hot, head for the coast.
When you are in hot climate how do you cool your van at night for sleeping?
sour cream works well with the pasta. Makes a good light white sauce.
How's your ham licence coming on ;)
If you scan UA-cam for the term "qrp" which is ham-speak for low-power (~5W) and / or "field day" you'll get a zillion hits about operating mobile on short wave.
Awsome spots wish I was doing what your doing and not going to work .
Nice camp site how many days you get there
I think it was a 7 day limit at that spot. 👍
