I've driven that section of Oregon probably 8-10 times... each time I just find it so barren, kinda desolate, but pretty... then you find that little haven :) One of the most remote parts of our country. Sisters is amazing, everything feels different, the air, the trees, the people, the buildings/ambiance. VERY nice place

Thank you for another great video! Look forward to every one and appreciate that you include the simple, day to day things as well as the landscape. It's the same feeling you get from reading a good book really, only it's nonfiction! Amazing resourcefulness and alternative to the rat race.

something that might help keep you cool when its warm out-
get a long or short sleeve rash guard like surfers do. You can even get something similar at Wal-Mart in sporting area. Wet it with cool water or rather soak it. Squeeze it out and wear. If you have a fan on low blowing on you and wear that it will bring down your body temperature.
    👍

I really like your videos. Thank you for this one, especially. I have been in love with the whole region of Bend for decades.....every time we would travel through it. There is an extremely cool park north of Bend, I think it is, which is so great for hiking down to. Your video made me wish I was there dry camping in the boonies. Fred Myers in Bend was always a designated stop.

I just started watching this video 5 minutes ago and you're on your way to Bend, Oregon. I sure hope you stop at Crater lake because when we went out west back in 2000 that was the most beautiful thing I saw. Yosemite was gorgeous too and the sequoias and the redwoods and Utah and Arizona but something magical about Crater lake that diamond covered water oh my ‼️☺️❤️

Hey,hers something you might want to try out..go to a plant nursery, buy some bug netting.they use that to keep bugs off plants...use it if you want to sleep outside (when it's too warm to sleep in your van.) on top of your van or in habit..over nite.I got some ,was planning of making a tent on top of my RV, and sleep on top with a mattress.

I've driven through eastern Washington but not eastern Oregon. I'm glad to see the area through your windshield Brian, if only to educate myself about another region I wouldn't want to call home. Perhaps it is the fact I live so close to the Pacific Ocean in a region with redwood trees, but desert like habitat doesn't much appeal to me. When you found the forest I was able to relax a bit. I sensed you felt the same.

Good comfortable night sleep is important especially when driving many hours. Get an air conditioner already as the summer is long. Also, a foldable canopy over your van will alleviate the heat on that tin can or at least consider throwing some Reflectix sheeting on it. When camping I hang a mosquito net over bed perhaps that would come in handy for you. Sleeping with the door open at night...playing Russian roulette? Sending positive vibes your way!

My bedside includes a marlin model 1894 .44 magnum lever action. I've had it for 25 years and it always connects. Just enough for a bear if it came to it, but also small enough for small game hunting with the proper loads. Gotta stay safe in the backcountry. The far west can be wild.
