Good to see your first overnight adventure. That's a nice introduction to it. A word of caution is that you can always count on the weather to turn bad during the adventure. That means you have to be ready for it. Glad that you're improving your skills....Don't quit!
You're very lucky Kevin was able to show you how to set up the campsite!

You set a very good example for those who may be a little timid in trying new things. Kevin seemed an absolute treasure as a friend and mentor. I've been in Scouting most of my life (I'm 57) and it always brings a smile to my face to see that there is still the explorers spirit out there. Of course being a born and raised Floridian, I never had to worry about the cold, just heat, humidity, and the Florida bird, the mosquito, LOL. Love your style and spirit. Thank you for posting and take care, God Bless from Florida. P.S. I like the patch on your ruck sack. It made Kevin a little nervous. :)

Bear in mind that while the Sawyer Mini is a fantastic piece of kit, when using it in winter, never allow the interior filter to freeze after use. This, from the Sawyer web site:
    Before initial wetting:
Filter is safe from freezing temperatures if it has never been wetted.
    After initial wetting:
While there is no definitive way to tell if a filter has been damaged due to freezing, Sawyer recommends replacing your filter if you suspect that it has been frozen.
    During trips:
If you are in freezing temperatures we recommend that you store your filter in your pocket or close to your person so that your body heat can prevent freezing.

You got an education while outside in the forest with your guide and he knows how to survive in the wild. I love that sleeping bag he have and it is necessary in the wilderness. The filter comes in handy to purify your drinking water and it makes it possible to drink fresh water from the water you get from rivers and lakes. You must have gotten a great education while in Norway and is ready to make your own camp site after returning home.

Pink 550 cord, cute! You should really try a hammock. I absolutely love hammock camping. The main reason I don't do it is for security. But if you don't have to worry about bears or two legged beasts you should try it. I'm really enjoying your videos. Nice job!

I'm not even going to comment on some of the idiot comments below. Honestly if you don't like what Emelie is offering on her channel then don't watch! Anyway I find that of all the channels I'm subscribed to, particularly the outdoors type channels, I miss Emelie the most when she goes awhile without a new video. Emelie, great video as usual. Glad you didn't freeze! I find I have to use ear plugs when I'm out camping. Helps reduce the strange noises a bit so I can actually sleep. I'll likely never hear that bear that approaches and mauls me in my sleep. ;-) I'm quite surprised at how tall you are. They grow them tall in Sweden. Must be something in those lingonberries. :-D

One of the things I like about overnight camping is hearing and seeing the little animals going about their business at night.
If my plans include multiple days/nights, I take my meerschweinchen along. It seems to do good for their souls as well.

Hi Emelie, you can trust the Sawyer Mini, I have used them while camping a lot of times, and neither myself or any of my friends have ever gotten sick. I've used 4 or 5 of them by now, so I trust them completely. I always keep one in my backpack, because if used properly, you can filter up to 100,000 gallons of water with one filter, so I see it as a smart investment. Keep having fun learning!

The birds make me psycho and not cute they get up too early . I'm glad you learned how to build a long fire , done right you can sleep on a mattress with no sleeping bag and literally melt all the snow between the sleeping reflector and the fire even in cold temperatures ,you just need one thick log above the long fire, not on the long fire , and almost the length of your body, with a log on either end of the long fire to keep the charcoal log just 4 or 5 cm above the long fire ...which , will burn all night. It won't actually produce flames, it will just look like charcoal burning on the bottom and a normal log on top ...at least a 20 cm thick log . You really brought someone along with great great knowledge .

great video again Emily and great idea to have your instructor /friend Kevin on your first outing to make sure your suffering would be to a minimum, because it can really go bad real quick if not ready or experienced on top of lack of proper gear just to survive one night... good to take pointers and form your method to cover all your needs and practice, practice, practice because once alone ,is all on you!( I saw your axe hanging from the ridge line and has no sheath either, dangerous! that was a no,no for me.)...gear up, many choices out there ...this video remind me I need to get some kill bacteria pills to add to my gear and another extra tarp too.... take care ,see you soon I hope!

You finally got my attention!! Please, I mean this in a good way. You are my first EVER comment on You Tube. I watched your video last night "About You" and how you started your channel, the persistence of your friend, continually encouraging you to make that leap out of your comfort zone. I think perhaps you may have been thinking not so much "why would anyone want to see me or watch a novice in the woods "attempting" bushcraft. I think rather you may have been afraid of failing! Still, you took the chance, yes with a little constant coaching from your friend, and YOU did it. I'm trying keep my comment short and I apologize for being "wordy" but having to only fit few words into an impressive show of strength and courage on your part, I feel, doesn't show you the proper respect I have for you and what you've accomplished. I know a little something about strength and courage having served in the US Air Force for 12 years and US Department of Defense for 17 years.
I look forward to seeing many more of your videos...Best of luck and God Bless..
    Your New Friend,
    Vince

Emelie, Your quite welcome. I'm not much for social websites so for you to compel me to write you is "ground breaking" :) I enjoy your playfulness, different approach to just being outdoors doing whatever and your commitment. I know how difficult is must be, working full-time, shooting videos, editing and that moment before you upload thinking--"Is this what I want?" My opinion--GREAT JOB!!
