Debbie Harry makes me so happy, not only do i love her music but my very close friend look a lot like her, sadly my friend died in a car accident a few years ago.
I miss her a lot, so when i watch Debbie Harry on stage its kinda like my friend is here again. :-)

This was in Toronto 1982 , I remember this , Blondie was huge in the late 70s and early 80s , before Madonna and Gaga , there was Blondie in all her New wave regality

A lot of people say this was a low time for her and Blondie, musically and visually...
I love this though, the band sounds good, Debbie looks beautiful, and sings devinely as usual...
There is nothing wrong for me in the era of The Hunter

Pablo Keyes I think it was a low time she was so hotter in 1978-1979 like I literally don’t know what happened in 1982.

The Hunter is one of my favourite albums, it just gets overlooked all the time. When Blondie played War child in 2003 for the first time since 1982 and Orchid club in 2010 for the first time ever, I was so happy

  • @gnagh

Blondie had a gift of mixing different musical styles and still pulling it off. Whether it be old 50s early Rock n Roll songs like "Denis", rock/disco mixes like "Heart of Glass", edgy Punk type songs like "Rip her to Shreads", calypso in "The Tide is High" to rap (from a white band in 1980) in "Rapture." Blondie wasn't afraid to experiment! Ahead of their time as many of their fans would say! It didn't hurt to have a beautiful blond w an angelic voice to be the band's lead singer either!

Regardless if Debby Harry was a Heroine addict or not, she is very talented, and was from Union City, New Jersey like me, and I love all of her performances, and it was a great band!! Love Them!:) She was one of my role models as a singer. The business isn't easy either, too stressfull. I should know.

1982 I remember & this short haired chick takes me to the Chelsea Hotel. Wildest night of my life! WOW! We hid from boys with leather lol! I could write a book! She called San Francisco in between! I called the desk, they said we got the bill Jeff! Sex graded 10+ I bought french pastry in the morning. Then she was gone! LOL! LOTTA FUN! Love the long hair tho! I was 26 then tearing Atlantic City Records to shreds to meet Stevie Nicks. But I was told I spent the night with Debbie Harry! Blondie I would have guessed was 40! Whomever, I was offered to make a movie by Hollywood! Without permissions I declined but met Debbie and Stevie after that! I still do drugs! kjinphx2003 thx 4 sharin! God Bless!

This show is from the summer of 82 she was on tour
for the hunter thats why she looks like a hunter and the men
in brown jackets I was there! She was playing large arena's
and cancelled many of the shows due to low attendance.
The Hunter album never sold and Island of lost souls the single went to 37 well below a top ten single in the US.

I agree, BlondieBoy. Good comment. This video does demonstrate pretty well the destruction of Blondie in a way. For one, their lead guitarist is already gone here. That was the beginning of the end. Secondly, the music on their final album was horrible. And then all that stuff you mentioned was happening. One thing I don't understand is, they must have known when recording their final album that the music wasn't good. They had to have sensed it didn't feel right.

they were totally on their way down at this exact point in time. frank and nigel where on the charlie every hour of every day, debbie and chris were deeply involved with heroine, jimmy was just doing every drug in the book and chris was getting mysteriously paler and skinnier by the hour. and yet they still fucking rocked the house. how you ask?? it's called a super badass mother fucking mean drumming machine called CLEM BURKE!!

OMG @ the 32nd (64th?) note doubled triplet drum-fills from Clem Burke! Pure WOW. Not at all like the record version (which I love), but still incredible as a change of pace. I'm also a drummer & those specific (triplet) rolls are *really* hard to do at that speed! : ) Plus---Anyone who could get ANY attention while onstage behind Debbie HAD to be GREAT! That's HARD to do! He & Bun E. Carlos could have had one AMAZING power-pop drum battle! : )

If any of you read the Blondie biography or got the book (which i have) you would realise that there was alot they had to deal with at that time, empty concerts, loan sharks, money disappearin, managers fleecing them of cash, drug use, chris becoming ill. Please read about them before you judge them.

@kewrock debbie harry was born in 1945. when she was singing here in this concert, she was 37 years old. everything goes downhill once you hit the 35 mark. considering botox only became popular in the 2000s, i would say she looked pretty darn good here.

Debbie harry!!!! To this day is one of the coolest women on the face of the earth. Can you image the crazy sh*t she could tell you. What John Belushi was like. What New York was like in 77(It was crazy), studio 54 and all the wild craziness. She has forgotten more cool sh*t then most of us will encounter in our lives. I could wrestle a bear with my two hands, get in a high speed chase with the police, and even smoke in public in New York(Where it's illegal) and not be as badass as Debbie Harry.
