Steve Earle's finest creation
This guy wrote songs, he sang them and he played them...and he did all of that so incredibly well. His writing was really extraordinary. His singing was not far behind. He was so good.
I can't take that his dad could talk about how jealous he was of Justin for having a John Henry song before he did--so soon after his kid died. Maybe that's just good honesty, but listening to their music, JTE's rises to a rare plane of truth, raw and real.
One of the best live performers I ever saw-his Letterman appearance is still is one of the most electric things you will ever see on UA-cam. His final album was a masterwork with a message that we need badly to understand. The void he left will not be filled
I didn't really know Justin Townes Earl. I am so sad that I've only become a fan this weekend. I know his Dad and am a major fan of Townes Van Zandt since the 70s and of Guy Clarke since the 80s. His dad got my attention when he put out a tribute album to Townes. Before that I only had heard "Copper Head Road". I've been listening all weekend to this young man and he sounds like Steve Earle when he talks. When he sings with his guitar as his only accompaniment, he is much more like Townes. He has that tear in his voice like Townes and Hank Williams and his huitar playing presentation keeps it real. Like I said, i am so sad I didn't discover him before his death. I would truly enjoy a simple live performance. May he finally RIP. Thank you for the music.
Yes I have to agree with you on JT it's sad that I Too just found his music and his dad's mentor Townes van zanta and. Guy Clark was also steves mentor ! They also belonged to a Cult that he expresses the fact that the cults are not as ppl make them out 2 b
1:31 the line about being a “wounded hound backed up to a chain link fence” is one of his most painfully honest and accurate lines about himself he probably wrote. I hope he found peace
A desolate Angel is one of the most poignant aswell. Theres lots like the lyrics who am i to say - it breaks my heart .. you can drink yourself to death, all his song are the truth snd touch our 💖💖
Incredible singer/songwriter. Biggest one around, in fact, together with Jason Isbell. This loss is immense... and his guitarplaying (his doubling style) never got the attention it deserved. What an artist.
They knew each other and it ended a little spitefully I think but man they are two of the same cut.
I love you Justin!!! Thank you for giving the world such great music!!!! Peace brother.
Huge heart. Beautiful. Gone. *sigh*
The lyrics are deep. I love this song.
Wish I could playa guitar with the soul that JTE did. Treasure the talent.
Me and my wife saw JT at the Ark in A2 one of my favorite shows of all time.
Loved your music and love you rip Justin
I became a fan of Justin Townes Earle last year and frequently had Amazon Music play his music in the morning. A few months ago I went on line to learn more about him and that's when I discovered he had passed away two month prior and that he was the son of Steve Earle. Such a terrible loss! Since then I listen to the Justin Towns Earle Station on Amazon Music every morning. I think about all the great songs that could have been. RIP Justin!
A heart breaking loss
Rest in Peace Justin
Incredible ❤
His guitar playing is amazing
Rest in peace JTE
rest in peace justin
❤️ Miss this guy so much.
RIP - Peace and love!
Rest in Peace
I miss this guy so very much.
RIP Justin
I have been following the career and songs of Steve Earl since I first heard Copperhead Road, and now I learn of his son's passing by the very honest and painful interview here on UA-cam. Such a trajety. Justin has now become on of my favorite artist. Such a sad story but thanx to Steve for making us all realize how precious life is. RIP Justin.
Miss him so much . I grew up prayering the special saints to help my favourite s were St Jude & St Bernadette, my confirmation name is Bernadette 🥰
Can´t still understand that we lost this man...
Listen to his words. Please. We lost him way too soon.
Love❤this song!
I wonder if he intentionally left out this verse? (IMO, the best part of the song...)
"You know more folks that's most afraid of the wolf
If you really stop and think
Throughout time, between a wolf and a shepherd
Who do you think has killed more sheep?"
RIP brother.
That sucks he died. He seems like a really decent guy
He was one of the most down to earth people I've ever met
If anyone better at guitar than me can please decode this I would love to learn to play the way he does this. Absolutely amazing
His style is so unique. You kinda just have to find you're own and roll with it. Kinda like fingerprints, no two are the same.
His right hand technique is called Travis picking. You can learn it👍
Boss level
Thang you Justin.....
El mejor de hace muchos tiempos. The best in all years ago
❤️❤️❤️ x
Not every song needs a chorus. This one is great the way it is. It sucks he fell victim to the same opioid epidemic he so passionately spoke about. It sucks it had to be him, but therein lies one of life's biggest lessons... it ain't nothin' to do with deservin'.
too pretty for this world man x
Yeah, I'm the saint of lost causes,as if you didn't know.
He must tour with a fingernail specialist.
race matters sorry justin
Man I hate this dude is gone!!
