I discovered this song (and blur itself) a couple days ago. This one brings me to tears. I don't know how they translated so well the feeling of being in the car with my brother, distance growing between us as we grew older. Him speeding and myself flush on the passenger seat. I don't feel like I have my life any more in control now than I ever did, but Im glad my 21 years have led me to feel this song like I do. Me and my brother are fine now. I feel like I have to make a disclaimer
That sound is generated by a KORG MS-10, or MS-20 synth, which have a very recognizable sounding filter ("KORG-35"). What you hear is the filter completely cranked up: max. resonance ('peak'), and twisting the cutoff filter.
@@k-leb4671 You can try if it works for you to download the demo-version of KORG's software emulation of the original analog synth (I have never tried it, so I don't know how it compares to the real deal): www.korg.com/us/products/software/kc_ms_20/ Crank up the 'Peak' of the filter until it 'self resonates' and fiddle with the cut-off frequency of the filter. :) Good luck!
Lead in me and me in water Dangling in my world I swallowed too much oily water Now it's slipping down my spine In a sense of self in decline Growing fat on sound It's only an early morning dream And the whole world will be alright My heads hurts with suspicion I'm coming home sometime I've swallowed too much oily water It's slipping down my spine A sense of self in decline I'm lying on my back It's only an early morning dream And the whole world will be alright
I'm happy that you like it! I've got a clip of Sing from the gig in the same quality, but it was deleted because of copyright laws :( My full version of this gig is also in a poor quality, maybe I will try to upload it in the future.
Too bad, this version of Sing is amazing. Would you mind sharing it with me via wetransfer or other file sharing service? The source of videos is Blur App I suppose, I have it on my iPhone but all videos are (were?) available only for iPad...
Underrated song, underrated band
Way Better than oasis
Graham Coxon's spatial guitar is something apecial.

Whoa, that UFO-esque sound should've been on the album version. Would've made the long-ass outro more appealing to listen to.

@@brumd thank you so much for the description! Maybe one day I'll just overdub the synth onto the album track myself.

Long ass outro is PEAK
Lead in me and me in water
Dangling in my world
I swallowed too much oily water
Now it's slipping down my spine
In a sense of self in decline
Growing fat on sound
It's only an early morning dream
And the whole world will be alright
My heads hurts with suspicion
I'm coming home sometime
I've swallowed too much oily water
It's slipping down my spine
A sense of self in decline
I'm lying on my back
It's only an early morning dream
And the whole world will be alright
So bloody good!!!!
How beautiful my guys are.
Beast of a track
The Best performance of blur
The long outro still sounds scary!
Thank you, it is so much better then my copy of this concert. Do you have the entire show show in this quality?

Damon screws up the lyrics a bit. Top version though.
Perhaps he swallowed too much oily water
