Takes me back, driving to Aberystwyth on a Friday night in winter, ghetto blaster strapped into the passenger seat, across the empty moors of mid Wales.
He really does look like a young 2-D here. Mannerisms and everything. Hewlett must have used this period as some of his inspiration. Perhaps even subconsciously.
i think albarn, coxon, james and rowntree sold pieces of their souls to devil so they can compose this beautiful song... the song ages extremely well over time.

Perhaps, I really don't know. I never catalogued all the short interview clips, so now, decades later, I just stumble upon them as I look through my old videotapes.
Errrrrr, what the actual fuck are you talking about? This song in particular is, in every live version I've ever heard, far superior to the album version. Which is excellent in itself. Blur, with few exceptions (Song 2 maybe), actually is *better* live than they are on record. Yeah, they can layer stuff in the studio, and Damon's voice isn't going to break there--but there's far more feeling in most of their songs live, and I'd much rather listen to them, especially their more melancholic stuff (like this), live than on the record versions.
@@Hit1889 ok I get that- 100%- and raw and real is definitely good, but if you’re a singer, he’s audibly flat for a good 80% of this performance which is painful to listen to if you know anything about pitch. You can deliver a “raw, real” performance while also being in-tune. I love Blur, I love Damian- but this performance sucked, I thought. Glad you liked it.

I really love this song. Damon is just phenomenal.
Me too / octobre 2o24
Parklife is definitely one of the top ten albums in my collection. So much nostalgia connected with it for me.
Graham Coxon is my favourite guitarist (ADHD!) and also his chemistry with Damon is beautiful to observe.
Graham got really good guitar riffs, love it!
Coxon is my guitar hero
I just discovered Blur (better late than never...) and have to agree with you on that!

Incredible lyrics, I wish I could write stories like that
Parklife is one of my favourite albums and really timeless. I think their first 2 albums are amazing too, people don't talk about them much.
This band saved my life. Wish I found them 20 years ago. ✌️

The shipping forecast wrapped up in superb music. My favourite Blur track, gives me the heebejeebees every time.
That guitar playing by Graham is magnificent. The song is their best.
Live versions of this song are my favourite. Thanks for sharing!
Just sublime.

A very good performance. :)
Love this song. Probably my fave off that whole album, which didn't have a duff track on it. The harmonies on the chorus are amazing

Much the same here, I had a average interest in both. Yes the show was a midweek arts show if I remember rightly
A little like Radiohead.
