I think that the discussion about needing a Jett is a super interesting one. In a MOBA like Dota 2, you don't NEED any particular hero but there are definitely heroes that have such a high skill cap that it's possible to skill-diff people so much more than other heroes. I see Jett as a very similar case in Valorant. Maybe you don't NEED the Jett to win but you also aren't giving your star players the opportunity to just fully outplay the opposition. So yes, you probably do need a Jett player to fully unlock the maximum potential of some players and then it's just a matter of whether they are consistent enough to make it worthwhile to do so.

Not lying when I say, brimstone is my favorite agent... when this man says "moley" it makes my day 10x better. Viper not so much, saying some diminatrix stuff here and there let alone her line that just says "cum" is a no for me! Not many people may have my back but when I hear "smokes down." Or "Moley!" I know I'm in a good place.

Riot have already shown several times that they understand the need to over buff agents simply so that people will actually bother to play the agents, and learn how to make them useful, and then they walk back the buffs. Like both omen and jett were seen as being d tier, buffed, became S tier, and were then nerfed pretty much back to the original without dropping a ton in usage.
Yeah people won't start playing unless they overbuff. They can tune them later if they turn out be too op but first gotta make people even pick them in the first place

jett just seems like a force multiplier. these aggressive players just have more potential to get kills and live as opposed to other heroes

The thing with eu and tr/cis combined into one challengers finals is that they were all separate for the first masters. Meaning 3 teams got 100 points already for the championship series at the end of the year. Now it's harder for teams to make it into masters to acquire points + they are in the same region as 3 teams with 100 points already when it comes to championship series.
I think that the best way to describe agents like Jett and Reyna is as a force multiplier - the amount of benefit that you can get from the agents just multiplies based on the raw skill of the player, so an average player will still be at an average level, but players with incredible mechanics can move from really good with an agent like sova or sage to incredible with a jett or reyna
I disagree, at the top level Jett is an obvious must pick for a duelist, if you have 1 duelist its gotta be jett, if you have 2 Jett is almost always 1 of them, she is lightyears ahead of the other duelists in terms of value, she creates so much space and allows you to do so many risky things, clear top tier agent
these ranking were very good. i would put dignitas #1 though.

I disagree with Wyatt heavily on the viper take. Her utility was never respected and now teams have to be very careful when playing against a viper. She has to make commited choices about where to place her utility as well.
To comment on the Dig signing/trialing Bxby J; he is an ex Halo pro, up coming cracked out sentinel kind of similar to someone like Nature. The dude is a freak and I think he could easily be on a top 6 team as a sentinel. Probably even better tbh.

The number of slots for European challengers wasn't based on viewership numbers but on the amount of high ranking players each region had on the ladder. They also clarified that that was only the case this time and that next event it will be based on results from prior tournaments.
What would we do without the top tier production
This is late, but I think it would be great if Viper's instant decay only affected armour. so that the 50 dmg isn't so impactful on pistol rounds, but it really deters aggression early in the round when everyone has full armour. (the molly would obviously have to do additional damage to unarmoured as well)
Great show. Balla is a great addition and I like that he is comfortable disagreeing with the main narrative. His CS background complements everyone else well.

I'm pretty late to comment but I want to say this on the topic of needing a Jet. I think teams are not building their comps correctly yet, at least 100% correctly. I think teams should be looking at their one-two most impactful players and building around them. FaZe is a good example of this. Babybay is your #1 guy, you put him on Jet and you don't ever take him off of Jet because if you do you're literally a different team. The same goes for Sentinels, but here its not just your star duelist. For Sen, TenZ should be on Jet because he gets away with the same sort of plays BabyBay and cned do, but also it feels like Sen NEED dapr on Cypher as well.
Like Balla was saying, some people you could switch agents and it wouldn't affect anything. In Sentinels, Sick can play whatever the fuck he wants and he will be equally as good on all of them, so having him on a specific character is not as important, so you can feed him whatever is left that helps TenZ and dapr do what they do best. The requirement to win is not a specific character like Jet, but what your players will get the most from. Jet is not necessary but if your star player gets the most from Jet, they need to be playing her. You have players with hard roles and players that fill, fill players need to pick whatever is going to help the hard roles the best
I personally don't think FPX as a #3-4 EU team shud be there same with Dfuse I mean 4-5 EU team up there is a lot I think Heretics Guild and Asend are the best there, in replacement I might put VS or Futbolist not to sure, The list is really good by drop Envy but you can definitely tell there is some EU slow play bias here with 3 in the top 4 and 5 in the top 8

Am i missing something? Why are c9 white and c9 blue allowed to play in the same challengers tournament? Nothing to do with gender - its just a straight up conflict of interest since there could be a scenario where both qualify to the main challengers event, and could end up playing against each other or in the same bracket. If that occurs would one of the two be disqualified? If not in that case if there's a head to head matchup between the two, one could potentially throw to the other (obviously not likely but similar cases like mibr vs yeah gaming in csgo). It would benefit the c9 org say if c9 white went through to masters due to all the publicity and how good it would be for a womens team to make it through - but c9 blue's performance could directly influence whether or not they do make it through
They probably have to be run by separate parts of the org; I'm pretty certain immortals owned two OWL franchises at one point, and that is what happened there iirc.

First of all Vision Striker "technically" is the most consistent team in the world but most people would said that Vision Striker wouldn't be in the ranking for World just because Korea isnt as strong of a region compare to others. They at least deserve a #10 in the ranking just based off all the accomplishments they have had so far. Lastly, Vision striker when it's come to abilities combo is a lot better than a lot of team in the top 10 ranking and when it come to their stratergy they actually have a lot of good strats that's why they are so dominant in Korea. And also who the hell is Lagos Lion.
