@@Ruezzreacts27 James Brown DEFINITELY played a role. Also Fred Astaire and Jackie Wilson. But Elvis Presley was by and far away his largest influence. The entire JACKSON FIVE band, including Michael, went to Elvis Presley. Michael was a young boy just starting out and would go backstage to meet Elvis.
James Brown and ELVIS was VERY CLOSE. They called themselves BROTHERS, DURING the worst parts of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT in the 1960s. Elvis had the same bond with Jackie Wilson and the legendary boxer and proud Muslim practitioner Muhammad Ali. Imagine a CHRISTIAN and a MUSLIM breaking bread during this nations most dangerous time... the race riots.
Back to James Brown who said: “I wasn’t just a fan, I was his brother. He said I was good and I said he was good; we never argued about that. Elvis was a hard worker, and dedicated, and God loved him … I love him and hope to see him in heaven. There will never be another like that Soul Brother”. During Elvis' private family wake, James was the LAST ONE TO LEAVE. 3 hours and 30 minutes later -- it took several of his security guards to physically help him out of the room. James was devastated -- James and Elvis sang Gospel together many a night to all hours of the morning at each others' homes. James Brown was considered family by the Presleys because he and Elvis were so close. After the wake, Broewn made another public statement, in the music studio --a very special remake of Love Me Tender -- which is on youtube

Elvis gave an astronomical 1,684 Concerts and over 6,000 Live Performances during his 24 year career, an astonishing and amazing achievement not surpassed by anyone else in the music business!
And over 1.6 Billion Records sold Worldwide (international sales went largely unreported so no one truly knows how many more records he actually sold around the world - probably 3x that amount reported). And that number was the total as of 1986!!! The Highest Selling Single Artist in the History of Recorded Music.
AND the Only Entertainer in the World that is a member of these 4 major Music Halls of Fame - Rock 'n Roll HOF, R&B HOF, Country HOF and Gospel HOF!
His contributions to the blues and gospel and rockabilly often is misunderstood or undervalued. The most amazing stat to me that Elvis absolutely crushes is 114 Top 40 Hits on the Billboard charts. Noone comes ANYWHERE CLOSE. 114 were in the Top 40, 40 were in the top 10, and 18 went to number one BEFORE HE DIED.
Today he's up to 34 Number 1 Hits. "Elvis: 30 #1 Hits" debuted in 2003. It's most recent certification, a 6× Platinum award, for US sales in excess of six million copies, was announced by the RIAA on March 8, 2018. England accounted for over 3 Million.
The album helped Elvis to have the longest span of number one albums on the Billboard 200. The album remained on the chart for one hundred and twelve weeks.
"Elvis created a new style all his own, and gave an injection to black music like no other artist had ever done." --- Legendary black entertainer Rufus Thomas.

And no he wasn't referring to cocaine! He never drank alcohol or illegal drugs.
All prescribed! There so so many rumors and misconceptions about Elvis. He was a kind, humble, Christian, giving man. There are lots of documentaries on UA-cam that you can watch if you are ever interested.
He was a trendsetter and a once in a lifetime entertainer!

I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. I had to set someone straight last night people trying to dirty Elvis name not on my watch what sickens me the most is the people that are talking smack know nothing of what they are speaking of, i have spent my entire adult life speaking out to people that try and judge a beautiful soul that is not here to defend himself no one will disrespect him period. God bless you and your family from the one and only Memphis Tn. 😭Elvis told me all the time you should always know where you stand with people now i know what he meant. #forevermyking #forevermysexyjello

Me too. It’s wonderful to see the dawning appreciation of the real Elvis, not the media trivial caricature of the man that most people take as truth. Elvis often improvised in songs ( shove it up your nose was him joking about the Mike in his face. He tried LSD once and hated it and despised street drugs. ) well spotted that Elvis was conducting his band and backing singers. He arranged everything and was a meticulous producer. They all had to watch him like hawks because he’d be spontaneous ad go on longer or short her or make up words. His drummer was Ronnie Tutt who always worked with Elvis. Elvis never lip sync in his concerts. Imagine how fit he was. He was a Black belt in Karate. Great reaction can’t wait to see more. Look at his performance of If I can dream on the 1968 special and watch the 2 videos of ‘Elvis and the Black community “ it’ll really open your eyes to what a great man he was. 🙏👌💕🕺

Hi guys. As far as the song words: The song part in question goes, "so, if an old friend i know, stops by to says hello,...Would i still see suspicion in your eyes?"; however, Elvis was joking around and did change it to add "so, if an old friend i know, shove it up your nose...before moving on with the song. He was having fun with the idea of someone being jealous and threw in those words for humor.
Good reaction. By the way, he's movements have always been like that and in fact, he got tamer as he got older, and it wasn't because of drugs. Even early in his career during the mid 1950's there are interviews where he said he can't stop moving and sit still because he felt the music, and this was way before drugs were prevalent that started mostly to gain popular in the 1960's with the British invasion of music and psychedelic influences that were brought about by the hippies and others. This concert was in 1969 or early 1970's. He was just a natural at feeling the music.

You can’t compare Elvis to Michael Jackson, in dance. Michael was a professional dancer who practice all his life. Michael was one of the great dances. Elvis was not a dancer, he never considered himself to be a dancer. Elvis didn’t practice his moves for hours, he just improvised to the music as he felt it and also conducted his band with his movements.

Thanks so much for your reaction to Elvis (Jan. 8, 1935-Aug. 16, 1977).
Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory.
Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off.
As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (ua-cam.com/video/LrFCyNMvZWk/v-deo.html). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

Elvis was a practical joker. He often pulled pranks onstage as well as off stage. I went to 2 of his concerts in 1972 when I was 10/11 and neither were exactly the same. That man was spectacular live.
BTW Elvis only took prescription drugs. Besides the uppers and downers that the doctor gave him (back then they prescribed those like they were candy back then) to keep him going with his grueling schedule, Elvis had a lot of health problems and physical pain that he took medication for. The doctor had him taking medications together that no sane doctor today would prescribe at the same time to a patient because they can cause major problems when combined. A doctor who had access to his medical records and autopsies said that Elvis had a rare genetic disease that very few knew anything about and there were no tests for back then. All of his health problems and the say he was able to move are all symptoms of the disease. He said Elvis was probably in almost constant pain the last few years of his life and that the stress of that and all the medications he took plus an obstructed bowel for weeks caused Elvis to have a heart attack.
However, if you look at his moves from when he first became popular in the 50's (before the drugs) you can tell that his movements had nothing to do with tbe drugs. In fact he got tamer as he got older. Besides Elvis did say from the beginning that if he couldn't move that he couldn't sing.

It was Elvis who first promoted the Jackson 5 in Lake Tahoe during his show that gave the Jacksons worldwide fame and put them on the map. Elvis got them suited up by having his outfit designer Bill Bellow create their outfits, and MJ kept him throughout his career.
But there is even more I bet you never knew:
When Presley died, MJ hired much of Elvis' staff. UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE that the King of Pop was heavily influenced by the KING OF ROCK Elvis Presley.
    1. MJ hired Elvis' best friend JOE ESPOSITO to manage his career,
    2. MJ hired Elvis' CONCERT PROMOTER AEG Live co-CEO Paul Gongaware.
    3. MJ hired Elvis' COSTUME DESIGNER Bill Belew (he created outfits for Elvis, the JACKSON 5, then MJ),
    4. ... in addition to all the similar dance moves
    5. ... in addition and arm and leg movements
    6. ... in addition to their desire to create music videos... elaborate video representations of their songs
    7. They BOTH lived in THEMED TWO STORY HOMES, Elvis called his escape home Graceland, while MJ decided to call his escape home Neverland.
    8. MJ attempted to duplicate Elvis' success in Hollywood, and before his death had made a cameo appearance in Men in Black, and released Moonwalker in 1988, an anthology movie combined with a fantasy tale with Michael’s confrontation with a drug dealer, with limited theatrical release.
    9. MJ even went into commercials... Elvis for Southern Maid donuts, and MJ for Pepsi, even though he hated Pepsi... but Elvis did a commercial so.....
10: Merchandise: MJ studied what Col Tom Parker did with Elvis' Merchandise.
and a bonus # 11: Elvis had a few monkeys. His first once he purchased before moving into Graceland. Most famously, Elvis bought a pet monkey that he called Scatter who supposedly got drunk on Elvis' movie sets on a few occasions, and MJ bought a monkey and he named it Bubbles.
Ok Last One I promise: MJ literally writes a song called... Heartbreak Hotel. Where Elvis co-created a musical art form, MJ largely built on one.
Where Elvis changed sexual mores in the conservative wake of World War II (in a very rebellious way that threatened his life with imprisonment and death threats), Michael built on what Elvis began with more sexually suggestive choreographed dance moves.
And where Elvis, expanding on James Dean's work, harnessed a burgeoning youth culture that rebelled against the social elites in the 50's youth revolution, the 60's sexual revolution, and the 50's and 60s civil rights movement, MJ drew more attention to it.
MJ did it brilliantly ... but his cultural impact pales in comparison to Presley's'.
Elvis came along at just the time the first identifiable generation of teenagers were about to substitute a drive for freedom for their parents' drive for security. 'With the change in values came a change in music and you had the impact of what became rock and roll'. 'Elvis stood at the cusp of that generational revolution. TV + YOUTH REVOLUTION ... and Elvis just ran away with the football.
MJ really did copy as much as he could from Elvis, and that's OK... because MJ put HIS SPIN on it, but LET'S BE HONEST and call it straight down the line, MJ VERY CLEARLY was inspired by Elvis Presley and how he defined himself as a SUPERSTAR and legend.
I respect Elvis and MJ for being the TWO KINGS of MUSIC that they are. Brilliantly fan-made Elvis' and Michael Jackson's "I Got A Feeling in my Body" studies some of Elvis' moves that MJ picked up on and included in his stage presentation.

He was the master of performing live... he also did most of the arrangements.. he didn't write songs but he knew how to make songs his own. and laughig right now.. Elvis was truly the first King of Bling... come on.. just look at his suits, his rings, his belts..

    Hey Guys
    Love you reaction
Elvis loves to joke around on stage
    That's why he said
Shove it up your nose 😂
The way Elvis jokes around with his back up singers
Elvis grew up in the black community and he respected black people
    He wasn't racist
    He loved everyone
There's a video called I got a feeling in my body
Which compares Michael Jackson to Elvis
    They were so similar
    Just different eras
    Michael Jackson married Elvis's daughter
    Lisa Marie Presley
    Anyway guys love your reaction
I have subscribed to you guys
With Elvis you can't go wrong

Elvis was the man back in the day. The boys wore& combed their hair & raised their collars on their shirts. Very very few with his sideburns. None that thick. They grew them. Women fainted away. I am the same age as Elvis would be. Lots of songs & performaces through the years you should watch. He always shook his leg long before dr. Scrip. Drugs. Only dr. Pills.

Elvis was totally original and MJ openly admitted to his credit that he was influenced by Elvis in all aspects including dress and moves. You can clearly see the MJ moves and dress where he mirrored Elvis, which is perfectly okay as it is a compliment of respect. In my opinion, MJ was a great entertainer by not even close to Elvis when it comes to looks, charisma, or quality and power of voice.

MJ never said that --- Lisa Marie even said MJ respected her Dad -- but He was not influenced by Elvis Yes James Brown & Fred Astaire --- MJ said something that made no sense though in an article saying Elvis was before his time -- and had no influence on him YET James Brown did and Fred Astaire which were before his time I know James Brown and MJ were close friends .... Also MJ said He was taking the crown for KING & He would be known as the KING

    • @Falcun21
      @Falcun21 10 місяців тому +2

@@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya Michael was talking to Elizabeth Taylor about his record sales and said that he should be the King of Rock and Roll and she shut him down and said that Elvis was the King of Rock and he replied to just call him the King of Pop then. The next time Elizabeth was interviewed, she referred to Michael as the King of Pop and it stuck. Elvis was called the King by those around him, Michael had to give himself his nickname. Much like Jordan vs Lebron. Jordan was called the greatest by those he played against. Lebron had to call himself the greatest. Elvis changed music and the world, Michael didn't. Jordan took basketball global, Lebron didn't. The comparisons aren't really fair though. Elvis, Jordan, both were the greatest to ever do it in their respective fields. Nobody really even comes a close second.
Elvis was very anti-drug. He even told Nixon that he was willing to infiltrate the rock star groups to shut down the usage of illegal narcotics. He took medicine prescribed by a doctor, he just didn't know that the doctor was taking his orders from Colonel Tom Parker and not Elvis himself. Tom had the Doctor pushing meds to keep Elvis going when Elvis wanted to slow down and relax, take a break and get back into shape. He wanted to cut his last tour short and take a long vacation and get healthy, but Tom wouldn't let him.

Do you think you could not continually stop the video after every 4 or 5 words?? My goodness -- you're killing the flow of the performance. People really want to see as much straight through as possible -- this shows you what he was really all about without so much disruption. Elvis was constantly moving because he had an inner nervous energy about his temperament & he never could stand still. He was not literally dancing on these performances but moving to the music. Suggestion for 2 songs: "Blue Suede Shoes" from his '68 special ua-cam.com/video/Ak5KEbi8Nac/v-deo.html from sitting in chair to standing center stage & an amazing "Jailhouse Rock" also '68 special ua-cam.com/video/87N6Qa0D7KY/v-deo.html for 2 powerhouse performances -- Elvis unleashed doing what he did best.-- you could do one & follow it with the other because they only total 4 min. together. New subscriber -- thank you.

The other thing was you mentioned low key and broadly he was on drugs..... that's where the research comes in. What medications in particular and for what medical conditions? Hmm. It's a statement based off what people have slammed him on off what they heard and to make $$$ by spinning it. Just want yall to look at that with an open mind

Elvis said " I just hear music n my body just reacts to it..Even when he was in the Army his sergant asked him Why he keeps shaking that leg?? Elvis said " Sorry Serg but if i stop I'll lose money." Cute response..Thanks guys..

Omg 😂- "shove it up your nose" is just a really old way of saying "stick it up your ass". There wasn't a ton of cursing back then, ESPECIALLY in public, on TV or during a show. I believe you could be fined for indecency back then. They refused to show him from the waste down at first when he was in the ED Sullivan Show because gyrsting movements were largely considered indecent. It was a whole other time. He paved the way for music today in many ways. His habits aside, the comment had nothing to do with drugs. That was a taboo subject!
