She had a really sad life, and so did Tatum and her brother. Tatum’s first memoir was really good, but so tragic. @@Purplenpinkk I don’t think she tried to off herself? Where does it say that? I’ve met Tatum… All I can say is the worst decision. Ryan made as a parent was to put Tatum in that movie at such a young age… it really wasn’t her mother that messed her up… it was like a lot of other child stars. She peaked when she was nine and Ryan couldn’t control her after that…. The mother lost custody. Ryan had a film career and now Tatum had a film career so she was pretty much off to the races and she developed a reputation as a brat with a huge chip on her shoulder. also, when a lovely mother figure entered her life (Farrah) and really try to form a relationship with her? Tatum bullied her and talked bad about her in the press. Farrah was 100% a lovely person and did not deserve that. All she did was fall in love with Tatum’s father. it’s not that I don’t like her. It’s just she plays the victim a lot… I mean she’s been playing the victim for 20 years and a lot of the stuff she said in her book were lies. She said that Michael Jackson wrote the song “ she’s out of my life” about her and called her on the phone singing it to her. unlike Michael called her out for lying, and he didn’t even write that song… so Tatum is a bit of a unreliable narrator if you wanna call it that. Most of her problems, though she brought on her self but I still wish her the best.

Joanna had survivor's guilt something terrible, and went through so many changes so quickly. Her survivor's guilt showed itself in her constantly getting drunk, and getting behind the wheel. Subconsciously she was looking for when life was good and made sense, she wanted that accident badly. She really needed therapy! She was probably manic depressive from all of the trauma too, and desperately trying to self medicate. I wouldn't have wanted her life for all of the money in the world. Poor thing. She was gorgeous though, and Tatum looks so much like her! I remember being less than a month older than Tatum, and feeling so proud of her that she won that Oscar. Probably in her drugged out condition her only coherent thought was about making sure the kids didn't go missing, and dog food is often kept in peoples' garage. And depending on their age, kids don't have to be hungry to eat anything they can reach and chew. So I'd guess carelessness brought on by drugs rather than intentional mistreatment. Still her fault though, and of anyone else who knew and should've intervened but didn't.

We pick our parents, and we are part of the team who devises our life story.
We are the ones who want a challenging part to play. The tougher the life the tougher the soul. We grow from contrast and strife.
When we go Home, we are the judges of how we did compared to how we thought we would do.

      @@lorimiller4301,
I can’t imagine anyone picking a narcissistic abuser, and choosing a life of being gaslighted and scapegoated. How handy for the monsters to be pardoned, and the children blamed by a faulty belief.

I remember seeing Tatum on a talk show and she said she went to Farrah’s funeral. Her dad Ryan didn’t know who she was and tried to hit on her 🤷‍♀️

She was a real nutcase, but she never had stability (I can relate) it was passed down to her daughter, Tatum finally broke the cycle.

Tatum didn’t break any cycle. She just wrote books about it her trauma. Tatum has a lot of issues and so do her children.

She was on an episode of the Waltons and I was surprised how she had aged.
