Romantic here! Last summer I wore a shirring waist skirt (like the last outfit), stretch tee, ballet shoes with ballet shoe style straps, and a shimmery mint green bag out.
It’s true that when you wear your lines, people compliment and are drawn to you, not the clothes. I got compliments, questions about being a ballerina, and sales associate chatting to me. D: So yes, I would wear it lol. The skirt I have wrinkles terribly but it’s still in my closet.

I love love love this series and looking forward to the rest! One small suggestion: it would be super helpful for viewers to see you in an outfit that is EXACTLY in your Flamboyant Gamine lines (maybe at the beginning of the video?) to see the contrast with these less flattering lines. Love your channel

Thank you! I will keep this in mind! The next video won't have a FG outfit (because it was filmed before i saw this comment) but the one after that will for sure!

Hi!! Super interesting experiment! I have one suggestion though, in the following series you can bring a friend with you that actually has the lines that you are experimenting with. I think it will be fun to see the disproportioned look of FG in the wrong lines and then the comparison of how the same lines fit properly on the right body type ;)

OOH! Target is a rough place to find ANY type of romantic looks!! Well done!
That second shirt is actually super cute on you! The color just blends too much with the jeans you had on that day.
And yes, I often wear soft gamine lines when I want to feel more cute and casual or modest.

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  4 роки тому +2

      It WAS.
I really did like the second shirt, maybe I ought to try it with darker pants and some boots next time. Love that sage green.
And that's a cool idea. When I want to feel more cozy and warm, I noticed I pull from soft yang (aka natural clothing).

Great video series! As a romantic I definitely would not wear the skirt in the last look. While it has a lightweight fabric, the sheer amount used effectively cancels out that quality. I think it’s more suited to naturals or even dramatics. Circle skirts, pleated skirts, skirts with lots of fabric just add so much more volume to the already voluminous hips of romantics. It makes me look bigger and also like I’m drowning in the garment. I personally find tulip shaped or shirt hem skirts/dresses the most flattering.

Fellow FG thinking of the black dress.... Why didn't I work and how could it have worked? Wider straps instead of the dainty ones would have matched the strong bones of your shoulders. It was a V - neck, but it seemed to wide - a more narrow V would have harmonized your narrowness. And maby it should have been slightly shorter. Maby a more stiff fabric. Paired with chunky boots and cool jewelry..... I realize that now we're talking about a totally different dress! 😂.... But it's interesting to see and train your eyes, and fashion/style/body type sense.
    Thank you! 💗😊

I'm pretty sure I'm in the gamine family and definitely not a romantic because my face is angular and I have sharp shoulders and not enough lush flesh in my arms and legs. But I think most of those outfits (maybe with some more contrasting colours) would look quite nice on me. Perhaps that's another pointer towards SG rather than FG. I guess SG can borrow more romantic lines. Thanks for all those videos in which you wear the wrong lines, they're probably THE most helpful kibbe related videos out there.
At first glance and when you're in your lines, I thought we look pretty similar, maybe you look more elongated and narrow compared to me. But whenever I see you in other types' lines, the differences become clearer to me because lots of the items that still work on you, would not work on me and vice versa. Super helpful!

You look STUNNING with the hair and outfit you're wearing while discussing the other options! I think those buns and that fringe is such a great look for a flamboyant gamine. And you have such a charming personality :) Fun video, I really liked it! And I think you make a good point regarding where your yin/yang comes from. I'm a soft natural and my yin comes primarily from my figure, my face is more pure natural, expect for maybe my eyes. That used to be a point of confusion for me, but I've just realized with time that I can pull off adding more yin to my clothes than let's say my make up :)

I am a TR . I adore my lines. But honestly I'd never wear any of those choices except the top of the last outfit . I'd go more rose , purple, red , magenta , white, jewltones, greys. I'd go for bigger raffles and make the sharper lines sharper and bolder especially shoulder area . I'd layer soft and sharp items . I'd emphasise my waist at a higher point (Except with dresses ) higher waist on dresses = me looking as if I am pregnant which looks chic only when I am pregnant. My waist is actually high . With the right waist emphasise I look slightly taller in a good way . My body can handle my line very well in that case . Accessories also add to the look . Glam hair as well.
TR lines would be overwhelming to G family.
My G/SG mom dressed me in SG lines as a kid( without knowing anything about Kibbe , of course) , this would look as a bad-ass casual on me. But not authentically me. I adore my ruffles , lace , florals , embroidery etc.
SC lines on me look as a clean elegant casual . In pure romantic lines, when without bold red I feel weak, where is my bolder touch I need my slight edge. Not that romantic are weak. It is just me.
My aunt is FG my mum is a G/SG . My son is a SG. My cousin is a R . They look way shorter than me . I am 167 cm I look 160 . The tallest TR according to Kibbe is 165 cm, I think. But I am not those gorgeous valoptous SD. I look shorter than my actual height. I look 4 cm shorter than a 160 cm SN and 14ish cm shorter than a FN of my exact height 😂.
Lines are related to how we handle the cloth and how they look on us.
    I love your experiments.

    Fellow FG here!!
Thanks so much for making the FG series, Franie. So refreshing and inspiring to see other FGs embracing themselves. I get to go "wow, they're so beautiful!!!" and then follow it with "... Wait! I'm just like them!" :)
This is what I love about kibbe. It's about not wishing we were an impossible "ideal" created by the ever changing beauty trends, but instead embracing ourselves for who we truly are and enhancing it. Us FGs don't need hips to be beautiful! ;)
Keep up the good work ❤️

Wow. I'm in the very beginning of a process to re-build my wardrobe, to properly curate it, and so I started looking into my body type. I strongly suspect that I am, indeed, sigh, A Romantic. (I have some big trauma-related yin resistance, lol.) This video was actually very helpful in giving me ideas about what kinds of clothing details and cuts -- which are *not* dresses -- would suit me! I agree that it's terrible on you 😂 But I can totally see how the flow-y skirt + blouse concept (aka not those exact clothing items) could look good on *me,* and that's interesting 😃

This has helped immensely, thank you. I’m Theatrical Romantic and was certain I made a mistake in adding up my Es and Ds. I have lanky limbs, large hands, small feet, a tiny head, narrow shoulders, but my chest and hips are rounder than my waist. But now watching your struggles I can see that I am TR.
I used to wear typical TR clothes from 2010 (although didn’t realise that) but now mostly wear oxford shirts, chino trousers, long skirts, and blazers - that English preppy look (I am Desi British).
I rarely wear bright and/or crazy colours (is that what you meant?)
To be honest, I prefer the way these structured shirts and blazers look on my compares to the traditional Romantic lines.
I wonder if anyone else has a similar experience.

    • @franibeard
      @franibeard  4 роки тому +1

Glad you found this video helpful! Theatrical Romantic does need more structure than Romantic because of the added sharpness in their frame. So I can see why you'd lean toward blazers or trousers.

It's crazy, but I actually love how those lines stay on you.. there is something very feminine and chick in the way romantic clothes stay on a more sharp looking body (especially for FGs).. just my opinion. I am also a yang type (D or FG) and I actually love wearing those kind of lines. There's nothing that makes me feel more feminine and gentle than those kind of lines. I just love the contrast they make with the sharpness in the gamine silhouette and at the same time how they connect with the petite (yin).

14:44 That black dress actually conforms rather perfectly to your shape. The only problem is the wide neckline, such a wide neckline flatters naturals. Otherwise, the dress highlights the outline of your body and shows off your narrow hourglass figure.
And yes, I am saying that you're a theatrical romantic. FGs have a mixed yet still primarily yin bone structure with the yang undercurrent coming mainly from the flesh. You have sloped shoulders, slightly short arms and legs and small hands and feet with yin flesh and your yang undercurrent coming from your jawline and nose.

Is it possible for pears to be a flam gam? After watching your video now I realise why I don't like the look of romantic tops on me! For tops I think something that looks a bit masculine with clean lines flatters me better. I have quite a collection of men's shirts in the size S in my wardrobe but I still look feminine when wearing them. With trousers anything high-waisted, that gives a little room to my ample hips, and tapered to expose a bit of my ankles seem to look better also. I think my torso exhibits quite a bit of yang for having smallish breasts and prominent clavicle even though I'm a tad bit fleshier than you. I only wear wrap dresses with clean lines as well. I have one wrap dress that's certainly romantic in style, tiny pink roses with soft frills - while I like the idea of looking extremely feminine I still can't make up my mind about it!

Idk why but I don't get the flamboyant gamine/masculine vibes from you, and that was confirmed to me when you put on the romantic clothes - they really didn't look so bad! (Except for the black dress and last outfit lol). It might be because of a conflict with what you think your personality is (masculine) vs what you look like on the outside. Personally I get pure gamine or soft gamine from you. Also the tops you chose looked like it has some soft gamines lines. Idk maybe am off on this 😭
