Hi I have passed all three section before 2020 and i dont have an ECFMG certification since I didn't pass all of them within 7 years period. So without ECFMG certification is it possible to apply for GMC with passes in all three section in 1st attempt
I emailed GMC. According to them, the Cs pass date msust be before March 13, 2020 and it doesn’t apply to Step 1 and CK. (please verify it if you can). The following is what they say: “The guidance states that to use your United States Medical Licensing Exam, you must have passed: Step 1, Step 2 clinical knowledge and Step 2 clinical skills. For Step 2 clinical skills, your pass must be on or before 13 March 2020”
Yes. That is correct. Now, If someone hasn't completed a home country internship or house Job, then all the USMLE Exams ( Step 1, Step2 CS, and CK) should be passed within 2 years. They wrote that in their instructions for those who have not completed a 1-year house job. Having said that, there may be many specific questions and GMC has mentioned emailing them directly in order to check the eligibility.
@@faranahmad754 thank you for replying. And may I know for those who have completed their house job, have taken CS before March 2020, and have passed Step 1 in Dec 2020 and now doing CK prep, are they eligible to apply for GMC registration after the CK pass? Please address this question too.
Hello I am lost at a step, hope you can help me. I am trying to get my GMC registration through USMLE, they accepted the dates, however they are asking me to ask ECFMG to make my USMLE results available to them. I called ECFMG & EPIC both don't know what GMC wants. Any idea about the process? Thank you
For someone who would like to apply for residency training in the UK, rather than just work in the UK. Can they do so with the ECFMG certification? What is the pathway for training/residency in the UK? Also is USMLE step 2CS valid as a proof of english language proficiency ?
It is bit early to say if UK post graduate training programs may start accepting ECFMG certification as an alternative pathway for applications. However, getting GMC registration and then practicing in non training job, will definitely strengthen the CV for UK postgraduate training spot. English language proficiency test will still be required.
After entolled as SHO (equivalent to m/o in pak) in uk , u will remain SHO throughout the life (as in Pakistan u will be a chronic m/o unless u get a slot in fcps but fcps 1 passing score must be in ur hand ) do we nees to pss another exam after SHO to continue PGY training???
Yes. This post was just related to GMC registration. Application for Postgraduate training is a totally different process. GMC registration is the first step to work as a doctor ( in any capacity) in the UK.
Very nice Faran! Awesome work.
Great work Dr. Farhan.

I took CS on 12th march 2020 and got result on 29th April 2020 (pass). Am I still eligible? I am ecfmg certified.
You can go to the GMC website and start putting in your information to see if you qualify. They have a nice portal.
@@faranahmad754 ok. Thank you sir.
Did you manage to get GMC registration? Are they asking for ECFMG certification?
What is the link of the website to apply for Job ?
