@@leahscontemporaryI sub to a few reaction channels and most don’t like Bella for their own reasons they seem to feel she should make more adult choices when she’s still a teenager trying to figure out this supernatural world so every choice won’t be right at least that’s what I feel they are doing.
@@leahscontemporary I read these books as a teenage girl and couldn't stand her because she was extremely whiny and crazy in the book. I remember putting Eclipse down for literal weeks because the back and forth was so irritating. Now that I'm an adult I am more patient but that def wasn't always the case.
I re-read the books recently .. The last time was when I was 14, when they first came out. i said this on the last reaction but i'll say it again, thank you SO MUCH for reviewing this movie normally and not hate-training. it's so refreshing to watch a twilight review thats not violently negative for no reason
I was about to comment the same thing ! Sometimes the excessive criticism these movies get in the name of media literacy makes me roll my eyes. They're movies. They were blockbusters. Clearly there is a lot to enjoy in them when one stops hating. Honestly best reactions i've watched to the movies Really looking forward to the rest of this series !!!
Taylor Lautner was actually 16-17 when this movie came out. The fame and public scrutiny made him too anxious to go outside after one point. (For this movie, he was also pressured to get buff in order to not be replaced. I am guessing it also affected him a lot since he was just 16.) He took a break from acting after the Twilight movies ended but he came back a couple of years ago. So he is doing well right now and happily married to another Taylor. (Him, his wife and Taylor Swift has a hilarious Spider Man meme photo.)
@@roronoauchiha69I mean have you seen him lately he isn’t 16 anymore and he doesn’t look like he did not saying he’s not handsome but I think people expected him to keep that body he got in twilight
He actually wasn’t pressured to work out he was never suppose to stay on as Jacob because of his age and the Jacob in the book by new moon already has a body of a 25 year old the rest I agree with
So, Jasper's ability is extremely cool. He has the ability to sense the emotional state of others and even manipulate those emotions. Stronger minds have stronger defences, so the accuracy is always different. That's why occasionally he's shown staring intently at someone. He's sending and altering their mood. There's some debate about whether he should have even been able to even DO it to Bella, but I'll place that on the side until you watch all five movies.
@@janel1386 Well Jacob doesn't actually HAVE any powers other that being a wolf, so, not sure what that was about. As for WHY Edward, Aro and Jane couldn't use their powers is explained, but later in the series. And it makes perfect sense once you know what Bella's deal is. It has to do with the nature of the powers being used. That's the ONLY mini-spoiler I'm giving.
@@patrickcromwell7554 give a spoiler warning but explain how exactly her powers works alice can see her future, jasper can change her mood but no one else can use their powers against her electric chick doesn't electricute her, aro can't see her thoughts, edward can't read her thoughts just plotholes if you ask me
Those Twilight soundtracks are top tier. I get crap for listening to them, but Thom Yorke, Lykke Li, Band of Skulls, etc. Amazing for sulking! That Bon Iver song is wonderful. I totally suggest searching up that song with rain added in.
The heart break scenes still make me cry even though I've seen this movie a million times. I went through a really awful break-up 30 years ago and it brings that pain right back when I watch this. It was physical pain, emotional pain.. Everything. This scene was very well done by someone who obviously went through it! 😢
I mean if you read the book you know they make it seem like it happened slower in the movie than it did when in reality that’s all he had time to do was push her back no time to measure how much force to use he just reacted
Roxy's observation was on point. I had a lot of heavier emotions to deal with during high-school than most. The other kids thought I was aloof when the truth was I didn't know how to process my reality at the time.
So on the topic of Bella seeing Edward: in the books it's explained that they are hallucinations triggered by putting herself in dangerous situations so she puts herself in those situations so that she can "see" him. Sadly not a mysterious power that Edward has. The idea that y'all are tossing around for the reason why Bella is so "special" because of distant vampire descendants is a theory that has been floating around for a bit. In the books, Edward does comment on Charlie's mind being similar to Bella's, that it's more like murmuring with sometimes a word or phrase being clear enough for Edward to understand. The films really do not do a great job at being clear on their abilities, likely cut for time and story.
If I remember correctly (been almost a year since I read it), in Midnight Sun Edward mentions that Renee’s mind is also different. Her thoughts were louder than other people’s minds. So Bella got influenced by two minds that were different to what was normal for Edward.
@@roronoauchiha69that just explains her power they mean how she got it since she’s obviously a human and still isn’t affected by any powers besides jaspers
@@shania991 The books explain that humans have latent or lesser powers, that get enhanced when they turn. The Volturi actively hunt for talented humans so they can become part of the guard. That's how Alec and Jane were found. If I remember correctly they were tracked and the Volturi kept an eye on them for a while, because they wanted to turn them when they were older, but their powers were noticed by the people around them, and they were about to be burned as witches so the Volturi turned them very young. Edward explains that he was pretty intuitive about other people's thoughts and feelings, and Jasper was charismatic and able to influence people, Alice had visions before she died as well. So Bella is just a human, but with powers even before she's turned. The mentions of Charlie's thoughts being quieter than other people is an indication that those powers are inherited in some way. The movies don't go into the powers really, but the books explain that Jasper doesn't affect just the thoughts, but the body (I don't really make that distinction, the brain is part of the body, but whatever, this is a magical universe with vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, and humans with powers, so eh). Jasper actually physically changes hormone levels in the body, while most other vampires only affect the mind. Bella's shield is not a physical shield either, objects can enter it, and so can people, but powers from outside don't affect those under the shield.
@@AnnekeOosterink Their powers are definitely an enhancement of their traits as humans. Alice was sent to an asylum because she had premonitions and at the time, that was no good so her family sent her to one where she underwent some terrible treatments. There's an origin fan film made of Alice, and her meeting Jasper for the first time. Not sure about some of the more odd powers like Kate's, and some of the other Vampires.
It's crazy how embedded these movies are in my psyche without my even realizing. As soon as the breakup scene began, I started hearing "There's a possibilityyyyy" in my head.
Roxy was spot on when she was talking about having real life problems so big you feel like you can't relate to your peers. That's exactly how Bella feels, and that's why those scenes with her high school friends seem so disconnected and off. Also Roxy I just want to say I can really relate with your story, I also found it really difficult deal with the trivial day to day in high school due to everything going on in my real life at the time. I didn't feel like I had a single damn thing in common with those kids. I felt more comfortable with the teachers than the students. I can't wait for number three. Eclipse was always my favorite, cause we got more Jasper. The movie didn't give us a much of his story as I would have liked, they never pay enough attention to the individual Side-Cullens as I would prefer, but we do progressively get more of everybody with each movie. I'd honestly watch a whole movie or miniseries just about Jasper's life, but that's just me. Hopefully they'll drop the next one for us lickety split cause I'm loving these reactions. They're being really kind and open and giving the movies the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they waited long enough that all the hate fog has cleared. I myself am someone who grew out of the fandom and started rolling my eyes at it, but these reactions are reminding me what I loved about it in the first place. It's a great MATURE perspective of it that I really appreciate, more than I thought I would for sure. Ok I think that's all I have to say.
Watching this film in the cinema was on of my all time favourite experience in a theatre. Me and my Wife loved the books and even though we were WAY above the target age range (we were in our mid 20s) it was a packed out theater and mostly teenage girls and hearing the GASPS, SQUEALs, and various other reactions from the audience was HILARIOUS!
Hands down, Billy Burke as Charlie Swan and Anna Kendrick as Jessica were the most natural performers in this movie whereas everybody else seems to be confused with what they're doing 😂😂
Nah, Emmett, Carlisle and Esme are all good too. As is Alice. Billy Burke and Anna Kendrick are impressive both just bc of their natural acting, but bc they added something to the characters that simply was never there before.
Lol you think the humans trying to act like humans is natural which is kinda obvious, most of the other caste has to act like they are animals and undead blood suckers not humans
@@shania991so in other words he's 100% right. He's basing it on the content they know. These are the characters that they know. Having to read books to "get" them means the movie is bad. I mean these movies are bad but this person's observation is spot on.
In fairness to Bella she outright is like “I just don’t want you to go anywhere but I don’t like you that way” and then Jacob was like “ima make my whole personality not accepting that”. Even as a teenager I was like nah none of this drama I’m team Carlisle 😂
@@bhargavipbahe is a nice guy and to fair Bella took advantage of the feelings he had for her and basically used him as a bandage to cover of the hurt she was feeling for Edward…she even used him as her own personal bodyguard up until the moment she didn’t need him anymore..

New Moon is my favorite from the saga. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the bigger budget, the trailer premiere at the MTV Awards, the chase scene. Like this was hype! This is cinema. and yes! Team Bella all the way!
I don’t think you guys understand how happy it makes me that you guys are watching this franchise coming back after watching: 1. new moon has always been my favorite being a team jacob girlie lol, but it also is just a comfort movie for me 2. roxie you will find out about why bella’s mind can’t be read, don’t worry lol 3. you guys are definitely in for a ride. I can’t wait to see your reactions for the rest!!
Charlie and Jessica are the only sane rational people in this series. (I like Carlisle too though) We will expand on that in the next films reactions hahaha
Jessica is a lowkey hater and in the next movie Charlie does and says nothing about Jacob assaulting his daughter 💀 I love Charlie I but the bias there is super weird for a dad and a cop
6:52 I love how much fun they are having and not being super dramatic on the kind of cringe moments because those moments work lol, Roxy is literally all of us hearing Edward talk he is truly an old soul.
As Aro has talked about Bella’s blood, I believe in the book is mentioned, if I remember correctly, that Bella’s blood “sings” to Edward. He was initially intrigued by her because he couldn’t read her thoughts, but after he smelled her blood for the first time (first movie, biology class) he realised she was his mate. This is why if she died, he wanted to die as well.
I actually loved both of y’all’s commentary at the end, Roxy’s comment about Bella finding it hard to relate to high school drama when real-world trauma is happening to her was especially poignant and it made me appreciate her arc in this chapter more
I think the reason they had Kristen wear brown-eyed contacts is because it's talked about in the books incessantly and fans probably would've been outraged haha. Even in the book Midnight Sun (Edward's perspective of Twilight), he talks about her chocolate brown eyes a pretty good amount 🤎
I rarely comment, but I really love you two for these reactions. It makes me relive all the feels and forget all the bad comments this franchise has been getting for years. I just wanted to say I really appreciate you guys! I hope you enjoy the rest of the movies.
Great reaction Roxy & John! 😊 I've been a Team Edward girl since the beginning. But I would happily be a part of Team Mustache Dad as well. Billy Burke does a great job throughout this whole series as Bella's dad Charlie. Fun Fact: Since he wasn't required to be in all of this particular movie, it gave Robert Pattinson time to film his movie "Remember Me"(which I VERY HIGHLY recommend). I think my favorite scene from this movie was when we got to see Jacob transform into a wolf for the first time. And I always love that we got to find out a little bit about Carlisle's past(finding out that he was with the Voltaire) in this one. Love the additions of Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning as Aro and Jane in this movie. Up next, one of my favorite of the movies: "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse". Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
If you're gonna react to more vampire movies, definately check out The Lost Boys (1987), Interview With The Vampire (1994), Let Me In (2010) and Abigail (2024)
You speak so beautifully about the idea of the story and the book / movie as a whole. Its so refreshing to hear someone speak about them and react to them with such intellect of storytelling and knowledge of movies and storys in general. Me in 2008 as a 16 year old could not really fathom all these big problematic things you think abt as you get older. I was just in love with the idea of eternal love and excited about the 'fantasy world'. Which was and still is such a basic human thing of so many to want to 'explore'. But I was enchanted about the story, just like you said , the age speaks loads for how the audience take it in and also super important to keep in mind when tou do review a franchise like this. It's made for the fans, its made out of YA books. BUT (!) Yes , it is a big deal!! They dont make it one in the movies no but of course the characters needs to look like they do in the book otherwise its not an adaptation right? 😅 I hate when movies change the looks of characters in the movies. How is that not a big deal. Anyway i love this cant wait for the rest of them ❤
Pattinson is friends with Jamie Dornan, Eddie Redmayne, CharlieCox and Andrew Garfield. They all came out to Hollywood at the same time in an attempt to score jobs, some of them even living together at one point, the tales that house could tell. Pattinson said when he read the script there were references to Edward being shirtless and he figured it would be something they’d work around, when he went in and took his shirt off and they saw how pasty and shaped like a prepubescent boy he was, he swore he wouldn’t get the part because he could see in their faces that they were like oh that’s not what we thought we were getting. He said he never worked out before then and seldom does now but they definitely said hey you gotta work on that. You learn what is special about Bella later in the other movies but it’s never explained why she is the way she is in the movies just what she is. The next movie is good, it’s an action one.
All I can say is: Roxy, your questions will be answered in the movies... Btw, absolutely yes, Bella's eyes had to be brown cause is a big thing in the books (they talk about Bella's chocolate brown eyes in, I think, all books) I haven't watched these movies in years and I'm really enjoying them watching from your perspective, I used to think that the movies were cringy cause I had read the books several times, also I loved these movies when they came out but the more you look and analyze the whole saga story more questionable becomes but I won't deny that I liked watching with fresh eyes. And... I freaking love all the saga's soundtrack, it is just majestic, so so good. Can't wait to watch you guys watch the rest of the saga
This one is my favorite of the franchise. I love that you guys actually give the movies a chance. I am always interested in someone's perspective that has not read the books. I can't imagine watching these without all the background info and details from the books. I am and have always been team Edward, but I do love me some Taylor Lautner. Billy Burke is the best!!
I always say that Bella was a broken kid who just wanted to be close to someone. Jacob allowed himself to be "used" because he thought he could win her over despite her telling him she didn't see him that way. He was so sure he knew her feelings better than herself. Yes she had feelings for him but, she did not love him and he couldn't accept it.
My favorite fun fact is learning that the contacts really hurt the actor's eyes. Robert Pattinson described it as feeling like sand was being rubbed in his eyes all the time. Now when I watch his performance I can't unsee that. His pained look and blinking so much is so funny to me in a movie that has such a serious and dramatic tone.
Roxy’s applause when Jacob took his shirt off 😂 Edit: 49:50 is where Jacob lost me and I moved to Team Edward. I know it was for extra drama in the story, but yuck. And you’re right, Jamie was in the Mortal Instruments as Jace. The series was way better than the movie.
Honestly if this was targeted at adult women and not teens, a lot of characterization issues are fixed with that. Edward functions better as an adult man looking to settle down and acts good as a husband, but is a terrible teenage boyfriend. Jacob being an adult who just wants to protect and see his childhood friend happy is his natural place, and shouldn't have been used to try and be a dramatic romantic rival. If they had just been delegated to the roles that fit them, a lot of the toxic scenes with both of them would disappear
The Twilight series and Chucky continue to be the reactions I'm most excited about watching every week (no coincidence that Roxy is a part of the duo for both series 😊💖)
@ReelRejects. The reason why Bella’s blood is so enticing is because she’s O negative. Also a very popular theory why Bella is immune to vampires gifts is because she’s a descendant of vampire herself. Hope this helps!
Some of the kisses are awkward. In the books it explains that a Edward’s teeth are razor sharp and he has to hold back for safety while Bella goes all in. Also, I know Jacob acts out while Edward seems to keep his cool. But Jacob is acting immature because he’s a literal teenager and he’s younger than Bella . Edward has had 109 years of life experience and people seem to unfairly compare them. I’m not either team BTW.

Yeah :( I've heard he also got brutally body shamed after the twilight series. He was so young. I'd want a break too. Totally understandable.
@@besupaaabody shamed after having that body how?
@@roronoauchiha69I mean have you seen him lately he isn’t 16 anymore and he doesn’t look like he did not saying he’s not handsome but I think people expected him to keep that body he got in twilight
He actually wasn’t pressured to work out he was never suppose to stay on as Jacob because of his age and the Jacob in the book by new moon already has a body of a 25 year old the rest I agree with
He was so great in the BBC show Cuckoo!
living for Roxy unashamedly falling for Edward 👏👏
I can’t help it lol
SAME….he still has me all these years later 🥵
@@roxystriar Personally I'm more of a Peeta girl but no shame.
John's "Sit Boy" and "He's Curled up at the end of the Bed" comments were awesome! 😅
THANK YOU for actual understanding these movies and not just riding the hate train.
Roxy hit it right on the head on why Bella completely cuts off her friends! She always has such good commentary and insight!
Thank you!!
@@roxystriar of course sis!
Dakota Fanning as Jane was a nice addition to the franchise, a bit shame that she's not used well enough in the entire franchise
"She's really starting to look like Kristen Stewart"- Roxy 😂👌
So, Jasper's ability is extremely cool. He has the ability to sense the emotional state of others and even manipulate those emotions. Stronger minds have stronger defences, so the accuracy is always different. That's why occasionally he's shown staring intently at someone. He's sending and altering their mood.
There's some debate about whether he should have even been able to even DO it to Bella, but I'll place that on the side until you watch all five movies.
Right! Even the fact Alice could see Bella's future. So only Jacob and Alice were able to use their powers on her.
@@patrickcromwell7554 give a spoiler warning but explain how exactly her powers works alice can see her future, jasper can change her mood but no one else can use their powers against her electric chick doesn't electricute her, aro can't see her thoughts, edward can't read her thoughts just plotholes if you ask me
@@patrickcromwell7554 I meant to say Jasper lol my bad
@@roronoauchiha69 those are mental abilities jaspers is a physical ability and alice's powers are not directly against her
I love how there isn't anything supernatural going on in most the movie, just Bella tripping balls from mental illness...
Was in the middle of another channels reaction, and this popped up. The speed with which I flew here…
11:11 "I love him. I think he's gonna die." 😂 Roxy and John thank you. This made my day 😊.
Jacob getting angry out of nowhere because his wolfness is starting to show up was done so freaking badly 😂😂
That was my exact question about Edward throwing Bella back after the papercut he made it worse 😂
I mean if you read the book you know they make it seem like it happened slower in the movie than it did when in reality that’s all he had time to do was push her back no time to measure how much force to use he just reacted
Roxy says "Only sexy vampires exist"
Nosferatu appears, "Exactly"
He was gorgeous
also, Salem's Lot, Fright Night and Blade 2

I thought they just explained that she's a shield, that powers don't affect her and she can protect others with it too
If I remember correctly (been almost a year since I read it), in Midnight Sun Edward mentions that Renee’s mind is also different.
”im coming ”
”Bella I don't want you to come”

Bella: Kiss me…
John: aww beneath the milky twilight…
Took my ass back to the 90s with that line. 😂
I’d argue Alice’s & Emmett’s actor was decent same with Aro(that dude was a good quality of crazy)
Huge disagree have you read the books because if not this comment isn’t accurate at all
@@shania991so in other words he's 100% right.
Right? Jacob becomes the ultimate "nice guy" and I hate that s*hit

New Moon is my favorite from the saga. The soundtrack is phenomenal, the bigger budget, the trailer premiere at the MTV Awards, the chase scene. Like this was hype! This is cinema.

I don’t think you guys understand how happy it makes me that you guys are watching this franchise
coming back after watching:
1. new moon has always been my favorite being a team jacob girlie lol, but it also is just a comfort movie for me
2. roxie you will find out about why bella’s mind can’t be read, don’t worry lol
3. you guys are definitely in for a ride. I can’t wait to see your reactions for the rest!!
The thing I never understood was why the Cullens would leave Bella alone and vulnerable when Victoria was still out there planning to kill her.
I think they assumed that she'd be after them and not Bella. After all, it was them that destroyed James
LOVE Roxy so much she has such vibrant energy in all reactions but especially here! Such a fun duo and watch, can't wait for the rest! ❤
Too kind ❤
“Maybe if she lets her frontal lobe flesh out”😂😂
I love you two and you’ve been reacting to my favorite comfort movies 😭❤️ thank you!!
I’ve been waiting all week for this. 🎉
Love how excited Roxy gets... it's puts a massive smile on my face. Always entertaining. Love it 😂
Charlie and Jessica are the only sane rational people in this series.
(I like Carlisle too though)
We will expand on that in the next films reactions hahaha
Jessica is a lowkey hater and in the next movie Charlie does and says nothing about Jacob assaulting his daughter 💀 I love Charlie I but the bias there is super weird for a dad and a cop
Honestly so is Rosalie, she’s not scared to tell Bella the harsh reality of being a vampire
6:52 I love how much fun they are having and not being super dramatic on the kind of cringe moments because those moments work lol, Roxy is literally all of us hearing Edward talk he is truly an old soul.
I am Team Edward, but New Moon is my favorite book and movie. This soundtrack is my favorite too.
No. It's not teleportation, they're quite simply THAT fast.
I rarely comment, but I really love you two for these reactions. It makes me relive all the feels and forget all the bad comments this franchise has been getting for years. I just wanted to say I really appreciate you guys! I hope you enjoy the rest of the movies.
The last part where the volturi are was filmed in Montepulciano, Italy
I’ve never been this invested in a react series but i’m so stoked for the both of you hahaha
Man I always loved this channel but it definitely has gotten even better with all the extra content
I fall asleep to these reactions now since I’m re reading twilight. And just adore you guys!!
I have never enjoyed Roxy's reactions more than in this series. I need her to watch Eclipse ASAP! So much Twilight cheesy goodness to come, Roxy!
Thank you 1000 times for continuing this series it means so much to a TON of people!!!!
Haven’t been this excited for a reaction in a MINUTE
I love how Roxy is exactly how all of us were when these movies came out.
Great reaction Roxy & John! 😊
I've been a Team Edward girl since the beginning.
they should definitely watch Remember Me. Such a tearjerker

Billy Burke and Michael Sheen are the best parts of the movies.
Yes! Love twilight and love y’all. Love me a SHEJECT in a reaction. And also a fellow John. Can’t wait to watch this!❤❤

"Don't beg, Boy! Sit!!!" LMAO!!!! WOO-WOO!!!! THANKS for this!!!!!
I like how Roxy was so invested in this movie and in Twilight
Anyway i love this cant wait for the rest of them ❤
“Where’s Jacob?”
“He’s curled up at the foot of the bed.”
The way I SCREAMED 🤣🤣🤣

I literally screamed so loud when I saw this video. I cannot wait to see you guys react to the rest!!!! ❤
Didn't he also largely refuse to get buff, so they just used makeup to paint the abs on him lol
This duo watching these movies is everything.❤
I honestly forgot how long that long hair wig stayed on Taylor Lautner.
I always remembered him getting rid of it in his second scene in this movie
Anxiously waiting for your reaction to Eclipse! Thanks for not keeping us waiting for long to get New Moon.
Great Reaction John and Roxy! 👍
So ready for the last 3 movie reactions!
All I can say is: Roxy, your questions will be answered in the movies... Btw, absolutely yes, Bella's eyes had to be brown cause is a big thing in the books (they talk about Bella's chocolate brown eyes in, I think, all books)
I haven't watched these movies in years and I'm really enjoying them watching from your perspective, I used to think that the movies were cringy cause I had read the books several times, also I loved these movies when they came out but the more you look and analyze the whole saga story more questionable becomes but I won't deny that I liked watching with fresh eyes.
Roxy’s applause when Jacob took his shirt off 😂
Edit: 49:50 is where Jacob lost me and I moved to Team Edward.
But the series was still trash
I laughed so hard and grinned at her full beaming smile while clapping, then John joining in hahaha. Roxy is the best. 💖
Jamie is also in Stranger Things. I won't say who he is in case people haven't watched it yet.
The Twilight series and Chucky continue to be the reactions I'm most excited about watching every week (no coincidence that Roxy is a part of the duo for both series 😊💖)
Adore you forever
@ReelRejects. The reason why Bella’s blood is so enticing is because she’s O negative.
Also a very popular theory why Bella is immune to vampires gifts is because she’s a descendant of vampire herself. Hope this helps!
As a massive Muse fan, John geeking out to their needle drops is giving me life 😂
Bruh I was waiting for thisssss
Fr , its been too loong
The guy that pulled Bella from the woods is the actor that played Echo's uncle in the TV show.❤
Some of the kisses are awkward.
45:25 Perfectly timed lord of the ring's reference😂😂😂
It's still funny how she wants to be a vampire and live forever but marriage is freaking her out? 🤣
