I’m not defending Lazy Days, but good luck finding good service from any dealer anywhere right now. Service departments are completely overwhelmed by sales. New techs are not coming in to the industry. We had our coach in a local dealer for some minor work on roof sealant that I simply didn’t have time to do. They ad it for 6 weeks and it never even made it into the service bay. And that was with an appointment! Most dealers now are scheduling service appointments weeks to months out even for new coaches. And just about nobody is doing work on units not purchased from them. RV sales have been booming. 2017 was the biggest sales year ever for RVs. The industry is cranking out sub-par quality to keep up with demand and shops are doing warranty work non-stop to fix shoddy builds. Those that just need normal service suffer. It isn’t just Lazy Days. Good luck finding any service department any different or better right not.

I wish I had seen your video sooner. We purchased a class A DP from Lazy Guys this summer. They wine and dine to make the sale but afterwards have terrible service.
    1. They quoted one price for the extended warranty and charged a higher price. I called them on this later and to their credit they did refund the difference.
    2. The finance guy seemed very disappointed that we were paying cash. Though we explicitly stated we did NOT want a loan, he went ahead and ran credit checks and filed a loan application sharing our personal information with financial institutions!
    3. They failed to send me the coach title in timely manner resulting in a hefty penalty from my state. They only sent it after persistent prodding on my part. It arrived one business day before the deadline. I work out of town and could not get to the tag office in time. They deny any culpability.
    Never again!

I recently stopped at Lazy Days Tampa, Our friends 2016 Entegra Cornerstone was giving them some issues with the drivers side sliders. So they called Entegra and they were told goto this dealership and everything would be taken care of. We followed in our 2017 Featherlite triple slider because I needed some fresh water filters, wanted new patio chairs, patio mats , and a few other odds and ends for daily maintenance of my rig. I couldn't believe their attitude, let alone the amount of people waiting around and complaining about the staff's excuses and run around they were getting. This is the best part... I was asked to move my rig to the back of the parking lot because it was a Prevost/Featherlite and they didn't have anything near that price range and they didn't want to deter customers to a brand they couldn't sell. Now mind you I had about $1450-1600 worth of parts, accessories, chairs, patio mats, fresh water hose extension, filters, wheel covers, etc etc in my cart. I asked the young lady if she was serious or joking she said " I'm not joking " I looked at my friends, then looked at her and said " well you can enjoy putting all of this back on the shelves you've just lost $2000 revenue I'll go somewhere else and buy all of this stuff I need, also be sure to let your manager know you just f'd up a large sale in this department.
Our friends told her to get their keys to their rig and would be leaving as well. We walked out as we were checking their rig to make sure they didn't do anything to it, a older gentlemen came up to us asking why were both were leaving so soon without service. We explained to them how we were treated and told them that they need to clean house, hire new staff , train that new staff in customer service or close their doors. We both put a complaint in to Lazy days website , to which we have not heard anything from them, now 3 weeks later. Our friends got service at another dealership after speaking to Entegra again. They went to Indoor RV center in Atlanta, GA, they said it was night and day the customer service and attention to detail. They said they waited no more than an hour before their rig was moving into the shop for service and was out in just under 5 hours with all 9 of their concerns addressed, repaired or replaced under warranty.
I have a Featherlite and I love it , 6700 miles on it in 13 months and ZERO issues with it. I had 1 software update to the automated master control system for the lighting, HVAC,security , call home, and infotainment systems since I purchased it a little over year ago. I also questioned about some clicking noises I was hearing when retracting the bedroom slider when I was 800 miles from their HQ in VA. I took it to a Prevost/Volvo truck factory service center in Omaha, NE, they couldn't figure out what was going on and called Prevost and then Featherlite before I did as to what the next steps would be. The end of the 2nd day they had it, I was told, They (Prevost) was going put someone on a plane from Canada and flew him to me while I was visiting Omaha, NE. He checked and worked on my rig, then checked out the other 2 sliders to make sure they were operating as designed by Prevost, then checked out the rest of the rig while he was there. I asked since it was a year old and 5700 miles on it should I have the engine and generator engine oil changed a 2nd time ( I did it at 6mths as a peace of mind just incase since it takes them 7 months to build it) ? and I quote " We already did that for you, we also changed the fuel filters in both, as well as the transmission/gearbox fluid and filters, I thought it would be another $700-1000 basic service bill... was taken care of for having to wait 2 extra days to have the Prevost/Volvo rep fly there , and a day to work on it. I was staying with my friends so no need to pick up hotels, food etc. I did ask about the air filters they said they were dirty but not in the danger zone to be replaced yet. I asked them to just go ahead get me them and I'd replace them I would pay for them, and so while I was paying for the air filters , the service manager had a tech run out and swap them out for me , and reset the computer to let it know it had new air filters. I was 150% impressed and happy I spent the extra on the commercial class coach, I asked them where the nearest truck wash was, they gave me a discount coupon and directions to it, and gave me directions to Cabbalas and other RV store in Omaha to get the other stuff I was looking for after I told them about the experience I had at Tampa Lazy Days. Now that is customer service!

This is absolutely amazing but not surprising. Why aren't this companies out of business already? Our last video about lazydays had just under 30,000 views within 10 days (before they managed to take it down) and all but 4 comments were along the same lines as your account. I managed to re post the same video but with a few changes which has again attracted a barrage of negative comments about their attitude and service.
They people should not be in business and any responsible manufacture shouldn't allow them to service on their behalf but we both know that there isn't a responsible manufacture out there, they are all bloody greedy and all the time LD are ordering coaches they will keep supplying them. They wouldn't last 5 months if this was Europe.
NIRVC have got it right but sadly they are few and far between. I thank you for writing such a detailed account and I will get this as much coverage as I can in the attempt to deter other from going there.

Glen, I agree completely! These motor coach companies have an opportunity to change the industry and get more people on the road, yet they are providing service and care of a state run facility. The manufactures need to start doing surprise and undercover inspections of their dealers and partners, and start controlling how their brands are being represented. Jayco/Entegra should be ashamed & embarrassed as to how our friends were treated. Lazy Days should be put on notice that they change theirs or lose a brand to sell & service. I almost purchased a Cornerstone myself,I liked the designs, features etc, but they were lacking a lot of 21st century electronics.I then went to the Tampa RV show and saw the Featherlite and was sold on the spot. Newell is nice, but when you got under the skin the term " wheres the beef? " came to mind quickly. I'm all about the latest and greatest gadgets and remote control, Featherlite and Marathon were the only 2 I could remote control, view cameras from remote, turn on HVAC, generator, shut blinds, builtin wifi & cellular extenders etc etc etc all from my phone or tablet. Their warranty & service network at Volvo truck dealers was another reason why I went with the Featherlite/Prevost as well. Newell doesn't have a network, they have a credit card to pay RV shops, you are nearby, And Jayco/Entergra has a network of questionable dealership franchises. I vote Indoor RV center needs to expand throughout the country , and blow Lazy days off the road with customer service , reliable quick post-sales service and respect of their clients. It was obvious to me that Lazy days hired anyone they could get and told these new people to do their best without training or how to treat customers paying their salaries/paychecks . I've been back on the road for 2 weeks now and heading to New England slowly and have zero issues with my rig since it's been serviced. Prevost has even called me twice to ask how things are going with the rig and sliders. I can't promote them enough! Completely 150% impressed and have asked them to put together a extended maintenance and warranty package for after the 2 year coverage.

That steering box incident alone is reason enough to NEVER go to Lazy Days for any reason. Even a novice mechanic should know that a Properly Torqued nut and bolt should result in 1 1/2 bolt threads being exposed beyond the end of the nut. This is proper mechanics 101. What they have done shows either ignorance or, worse, a total lack of concern for the customer.

That’s completely negligent and even criminal in nature. Even aircraft specs call for a minimum of 2 exposed threads on an approved, properly-torqued fastener.

I have owned a Entegra Cornerstone for a couple years now (purchased new) and have also learned the hard way to take chassis repair issues to the Spartan campus only. They are great folks, and they will do it right. I also suggest paying the $100 to have a full chassis inspection done while there--especially if you are still within the 3 year warranty. During my last trip to Spartan they found a leaky axle seal and bad weld on the coolant purge tank and replaced both. If your coach wonders a lane a bit, I suggest letting them do an alignment...it made a night and day difference for my coach.
And yes, we once got trapped by the Lazy Days sales team and like never escaped. We eventually purchased our Cornerstone at Inside RV Sales in Atlanta for 10's of thousands cheaper than what Lazy Days was offering.

I have become very discouraged with them at this point. Lazydays said they check ALL coaches before putting them up for sale when they come in. Clearly our "slipped through the cracks" . Today is day 10 that they have had it. And though we are surprised at the price we paid - we think we literally stole it - the service department has more than let us down.
They advertised the older coach on several web sites as well as their own for a reasonable price. Well when we sat it we fell in love (note we love older coached since they usually have all the kinks worked out of them ) We currently have a Class A that is in for service at another dealer and we were to leave this Monday on a 6 week vacation and our current coach is old enough that getting parts is a bit of a problem but that is all that is holding it up. So we chose to buy a 2nd class A to go on vacation with knowing we could always sell it when we get home and get our money back.
Lazydays showed us several coached in our price rang that we wanted to pay for (cash deal) and when they did show us the one advertised we loved it. BUT it would not start! So we took a chance on it anyway. Having owned several class A's over the years I took a guess it was the batteries. which it did turn out to be. We were to pick it up in 2 days after they had replaced the batteries and prepared the coach. No problem....yea right. We got a call from our salesman who told us there was some bad news and good news. Bad news was that they decided to replace the brakes and it would be 2 extra days (kind of funny that a coach with 45,000 miles needed brakes but who was I to argue?) and that the horn does not work and it had to be fixed. What do I care I live in Florida no one uses a horn just a finger. well the 2 days came and went and then 2 more came and went. Now we are stating to get worried finally after getting a hold of our salesman (not his fault his wife is over due and they keep going to the hospital in false labor - hey we had 5 daughters we understand) we find that they decided to now replace the rotors on all axles and parts are on order AGAIN.
Long story short we are 10 days out today and still no coach. We were to leave at 6 a.m. in the morning tomorrow for an 7,895 mile around the country trip in 5 weeks and my 50 year class reunion. WE have not even received the new coach let alone packed it or serviced it in anyway (oil change, fuel, propane, water, battery check and/or replacement, generator service and so on) for our own piece of mind. I agree with you that they have promised the world and done right by us in the sales and fiance department but their service department has really dropped the ball big time. I have cancer and this was to be the bucket list of my life since time is short and I am dying everyday. I wanted to see the last of my family before I go. Your advice is correct go somewhere else for service

Good point, If these RV's are as good as the manufactures say why are they always in a shop somewhere. Also most of these vehicles do such small milage they aren't even 'run in" (not sure if that's the same word in the US.)

    • @andrecanuck5656

The problem today is that they're pumping out these RVs by the 1000s, there's a lot of baby boomer money out there, parents are leaving vast fortunes to their kids, and the kids are spending it, so, the RV industries philosophy is build it today, sell it tomorrow, and we'll deal with all the problems later on down the road, we already have their money, they can wait for service, and if they don't like it, well it's just too bad.

@Dill Rogerz ... Broken in??? The problem with most RV''s built here is "I just got this coach a few months ago, and it's already broken...." And most of the time, it doesn't take a few months; it's a few minutes. They're putting together crap units built out of crap components by people who don't know crap about proper assembly technique. And the real problem is, if you complain, their attitude is, "hey, there's a dozen more customers right behind you. You're on your own."

We bought a used 2014 coach from Lazydays on Feb 10, 2018. We had issues since the day we bought it. They kept putting us off, promising it will be taken care of before we left to go back home to WV. I got fed up and saw the service manager and he promised us the world. Yeah right, we ended up taking it home and between emails service calls to our local dealer, it never got done. I finally wrote a letter to the CEO of Lazydays and it is now being fixed. From Feb to June.

Curious to know how your EEZ RV TPMS system is working for you. I have a Winnebago 42qd and bought my TPMS 10 in September of '15. I've always had occasional issues with a sensor or 2 not registering on the monitor. A couple of months ago upon taking the coach out of storage for my first outing of the season I noticed that only ONE (out of 10) of the sensors was functioning properly. Thinking that perhaps all the batteries had coincidentally died at the same time, I ordered a bunch of batteries online. When they arrived I began the process of removing the covers to replace the batteries and discovered that virtually all of the seals had failed and there was water and rust inside each unit. There is supposed to be a 36 month warranty on the system and I am about to place a call to the manufacturer. Not sure if they've redesigned the sending units since I purchased mine... but there sure seems to be a problem with these things.

I've had a few small issues but nothing serious, I don't think that they are as accurate as they make out as the reading is quite a difference from the tire gauge I have. I tend to check and top up my tire (if necessary) every couple of weeks or before a big trip. I did have one sensor that I thought started leaking and they changed it there & then on the spot at one of the trade shows. It actually turned out to be the inner valve was loose and it was that which was causing a slight leak in air from the tire

Spent 6 years Rv -ing in new coaches and it was filled with anxiety and stress. The problem with motor homing - is the Motorhome itself. If you add up days lost, depreciation, bad experiences with service and poor campgrounds - you quickly realize what a foolish decision you’ve made.

We purchased a 06 Tiffin that need a few small things fixed. While they worked on the coach for several days we discovered an engine leak. While waiting to get in line for the engine mechanicals thay would take the coach and put it in line to be worked on for some other things that was not the list. Replace front window and seals etc. While doing this they broke a knuckle on the wipers under the fiberglass and could not find a replacement anywhere. I later found out that the workers were paid by the job
and when new owners purchased Lazydays they began to pay workers by the hour (of the job they were working on) So they tried to keep your coach in a bay of some type to keep the workers in a section, windows, woodshop, tv stereo etc working all day. We had traded our coach in (and felt we had a fair deal in that aspect but it took three days of negotiation.) and it had re-sold in two days so we were left with out two dogs in the parking lot with a dog pen and two chairs every day except Sunday after they took the coach and put it in line for a day and never worked on it. It never went to the head of the line until I complained after two weeks to management. And again it took two additional weeks to get work done.

If we're making nominations, I'll add *Bankston RV of Huntsville AL.* Went to get the AC replaced under warranty and ended up having to recover the entire roof after a tree branch fell onto the trailer (many holes). They claimed I drove under something, but the damage was from the rear to the front and we found the tree (freshly cut) that branch came from. When they delivered the repaired trailer, they then hit a tree in our backyard (on video), damaging the new roof. To save money, they just slapped a large patch (with black putty on the tan roof) over that. To make matters worse, it rained much of the time they had the trailer (no effort to cover it), causing water damage inside.

I actually had a LazyDays salesman agree with me when I described their sales model as being one where they tell you anything to get the sale, basically playing up the glitzy interior, hoping you are the type to do little or no research, but on impulse and pay too much.
He said he was speechless and added as how few customers actually get their sales approach.
If you buy a new RV, the only service you can trust is available only at the factory.
Buying from the closest dealer to the factory also eliminates the delivery cost and assures thatyou put on the first 1000 mile break in.
Buying local assures local service bud if you are traveling, they still ask “did you buy it here”?
So insist that you get to be part of the PDI. Do not accept only the usual 2 hour walk thru. Insist on an appointment waiting for you after camping in it 2-3 days to try everything.
      Failing that....go to the factory.
LazyDays will tell you the cant be the low price guy because their overhead is too high. I was told their high overhead was for my benefit.
      What a laugh!
They were only 15 percent off list and I bought from a reliable, highly rated dealer, for almost twice that discount and was assured the PDI and follow up adjustments werebe prompt and corr

And yet we, the consumers, continue to buy new RV’s. The industry doesn’t need anything but a financial wake up call. Don’t, do not, never ever, buy a new RV. You WILL BE disappointed and no dealer, no matter what they say before you buy, will be there when you need them, and you will. Look around and find a used RV where eitherbthe problems have been sorted or at least you’ll know what they are and won’t be paying top dollar for the privilege of getting them fixed.

When it comes to service, the RV industry is really Fucked-up, and these RV's aren't cheap, some of them cost the price of a couple of nice homes, but, once the dealer cashes your check, he hopes to never see you again unless you're there to buy another overpriced RV

I live in Brandon,Fl very close to Lazy Days...I enjoy looking at the RV's at the lot beside the campground as there are no salesman to bother me..I get ideas and see models that may be next on my purchase but I would never buy one there or let alone service them! Especially the latter...Many coaches waiting to be serviced seem to be stored in that same lot..Now I know enough not to look in any rig with a tag on it or no sticker from LD...but how many others looking at that lot do not know this as they DO NOT always lock the coaches parked there for service..me and a friend found this out by accident by looking in one before we realized it was a service coach!! We felt bad of course and quickly left saying we sure feel bad for anyone leaving their "Home" if full timers, there for service..These will sit here weeks like this!! I have even seen coaches that had been on fire! Homeless people or vagrants from the nearby truck stop try to sneak in and sleep in them..Imagine how safe is your service RV being left open in a lot where anyone during normal hours can just walk in?? Now I would hate to not have this luxury to be able to browse without being bothered by a salesman but there should be some kind of security for those service coaches!! Lazy Days was once a great place..when it was owned by Don Wallace..he sold to a larger corp and that is when things went down..When Don Wallace sold he was missed...he treated the employees like family..Everyone loved it there..It is not that way now...

One thing to keep in mind about buying an RV is that the dealer pretty much just sells them and that there are a bunch of different manufacturer products that go into building one. The Chassis, drive train and the box (RV structure) it self are all different companies and offer different warantees. No RV dealership in their right mind will or can offer a specific warrantee to cover the complete unit, maybe Airstream will or does but, as far as I'am concerned, I wouldn't buy a "New" RV from any dealership, I'd contact a private owner who is selling one and a very good chance that owner has had it a few years and worked all the bugs out of it.

This is going be unpopular because I'm not choosing to "pile on" as many do. I think I can counter that I've had nothing but good experiences at Lazy Days. They've been courteous and personalized in our dealings from both service and sales. There are many good people there.
This is not to say they aren't without faults as many of us have some. They are, like others have said, in the same position as many in the RV industry who live with the world as it exists. But yeah LD will have their share of problems. But I can't think of a dealer though that I haven't found problems at.
Too often there are complaints about companies without the company being able to respond very effectively because, face it...how can you come across on here as positive when you are having to defend yourself. It just doesn't work well. There are a lot of satisfied customers I believe. Those many times are the so-called "silent majority" sometimes.
I have no connection with LD other than as a customer. I do have my own company and I can sympathize that it's not easy. Just adding some needed balance....customers can be a challenge too.

      Hi Bill
Thank you for your contribution, sadly 6 positive comments out of over 600 negative ones (if you include the last video that they managed to take down) is hardly a balance. I would be surprised and amazed if there wasn't some LD customers out there that are happy as even I can't believe that they are really that bad, but based on the publics own experiences, they clearly are worst that I experienced.

    • @billaustin4949
      @billaustin4949 7 років тому

      Hi Glenn
You come across as a nice fellow and you've had some interesting video, thanks. I realize you've had a bad experience with LD and that others have also. There are instances where those things occur and likewise there happen to be good experiences that people have. It's also true that bad experiences tend to be what people focus on and it's what creates news. Having said that there are under-covered good experiences and mine is one of those where I've had more than 3 years of good interactions with the LD folks. I can point out some bad interactions with others I've had. Drawing conclusions that are too broad in either case is problematic. That's a topic I see discussion on the IRV2 site a lot. There are lots of contributors on this and other topics and it's helpful to see everyones views. I'd encourage to keep a dialogue going on there.
Keep up sending out what happens with your travels in the last year or two as you get around the states and let us know how you fare. I find it interesting what RV folks do and your experience here in the US seems to be pretty entertaining.
      Bill

Not sure about that I think General RV is the worst! Everytime I took my motorhome in for warranty there would be customers crying in the waiting room, later as my one year warranty ran out, I saw why people were crying. By the way everything they repaired does not work again and the cosmetic repairs have all failed! The worst was the 12 volt plug on the dash didn't work, one month old charged me 74 bucks to put a fuse in it! I am a retired mechanic I think I could have handled it but I thought it was warranty!😡 I should have realized when I purchased it brand new they made me sign a paper that explained under no circumstance would the Lemon law be enforced after purchase! I thought that's weird!

I'm guessing that they spent some time and effort trying to get the video removed. What I don't really understand is that if the service is as bad as portrayed (which on the face of things appears to be the case), why it would be so. From a business perspective, the margins on service are far greater than those for sales generally. If they were going to neglect one side of the business in favour of the other, you would think it would be sales and not service. Well regardless, I'm both sorry and grateful for your troubles. Sorry because you have had to deal with it, grateful, that you helped alert so many of us to a business that seems to be very laisse fair with money, our homes and maybe even our lives (my attempt to be generous).

sirpurrcival, I have had the same thought about sales vs. service that you made. The last time I was at LD the hourly rate was $149. At that rate you would think the profit margin on service would be so good that they would make every reasonable effort to have satisfied customers, if that is true I have not seen it. Maybe the lure of a new RV sale when there is a gross profit to LD of $20,000, 40,000 or more is too much to spend time on anything else. As Glen says, they roll out all the effort to make a sale. Obviously, they did not get to be so big by pissing off every customer, so I would not say that.

On one of the RV television shows that LD does they showed their guys building new cabinets for a customer. Unfortunately, during installation he ripped the vinyl wood grain on the wood and it looked really bad. Rather than replace the piece (I'm sure the customers spent a lot on this custom work) he used a wax pencil to cover it up. This was on national TV produced by LD so you can imagine what they do behind the scenes. We drive our coach all over the country touring and sightseeing. I have no qualms driving anywhere in the US to buy a coach, since buying for "local service" is quite frankly a joke.

Ya know how when you buy a car, pretty much any car, there's a warranty... & if you have problems you take it back to THAT dealer for service for everything? I learned the hard way (they saw me comin'!) as soon as I signed the papers, out comes like TEN POUNDS (unfortunately, NOT joking) of manuals, warranties, cards to fill out, mail in, etc. I was like "what's all this?" - "that's your warrantieS". With an 'S'?? Yup. Every single component is warranted by each individual maker so you're pretty much on your own. I would NEVER again buy anything more than a small travel trailer. Why? At least if something breaks you aren't stuck all day or days at their mercy.

In the first month we kept a list of things that needed attention. We set an appointment and let them know we would be on the grounds waiting. I also had told them I am full time and if they needed to keep it overnight I needed to be able to stay in the RV at night. They agreed to that and we wound up having to stay two nights but after that all was done and done right. Maybe things have changed but I am getting ready to buy another unit and they will most likely get my business.

I preferred the positive review and tour of Lazydays Seffner by Changing Lanes and 'Bama Elliott! Positive customers get positive results from employees! That's how people respond and want to please someone they like. Just sayin', you have 30-90 seconds to make a positive first impression! It's either, "Hello, I'm frowning hyper-critical negative Nelson", or "Hi, I'm smiling positive Nelson and this is my smiling happy wife Virginia, and we are so excited that you folks can help us figure out what's wrong! What an impressive place! You must be doing things right by your customers to have grown this big!" That being said, any organization is only as strong as its weakest link. Being you purchased from RV One, you probably got the B Team mechanics. The best of the best probably serve Lazydays Crown Club members.

I am living in Taiwan and currently have a Country Coach Intrigue parked in Orlando. Since 2012, we have been travelling with it twice a year to take my family all over the north America including Alaska. In my opinion, the Country Coach and Foretravel custom chassis still a better chassis. Unfortunately Country Coach went out of business since 09, Until now, I believe Foretravel may still remain best coach for under million dollar. But I would like to look into more options before making another investment. We will be travelling over East Coast since June 22 for a month than back to Orlando storage for 5 month. Next year, we will be back to West Coast, 2018 summer we will be going to Oregon and Washington for the crabs, seafood, and wine hunt. Maybe go to Alaska again on 2019. Let me know if you need storage or travel info. I love your video blog, hopefully to see you on the road.

yes, Can't be agree more... I do believe around 300k is my maximum budget for a RV as well. I am not against to purchase any used RV since the previous owner did all the trouble shooting as most of RV are way under used anyway. Our normal storage unit in CA is at indoorrvstorage.com/ and www.akmaxistorage.com/ for Alaska as rare heated indoor storage unit where price is very reasonable. But you need to plan long ahead since owner do fill up the space quick every winter season. We did one month up inland route and next year one month down waterside. Cheers and have a good trip!!

That sterling issue was really scary. I Glad I saw this I spoke to Lazyday sales men yesterday about buying and Anthem. I got bad vibes from the salesmen.. So this is the good Lord looking out for me. Wow you pay so much for these things and they have all these problems. Were the repairs under warranty?

Agreed, I know one thing I'm staying away from Lazy days that is for sure. This purchase for us is a bit scary because I can't afford to make a mistake here This purchase is huge for us I love the look of the Anthem But the Tiffen seem to be a good coach Just wonder which one will hold up the best. When I speak to these sales people I can't get a straight answer as too how much I will spend on mantince each year.

Good video its nice to know more about these guys because they are all over the internet marketing sales and service. As well as giving the illusion that they are a good place to go apparently based on your opinion and Vlog their management isnt doing such a great job and thats a terrible shame when you know the size of some of these investments and the needs they require to protect the resale or enjoyment lets face it the ownership of these coaches should be fun and enjoyable i am a lifetime boat owner and enthusiast and i always felt that same thing about. Buying a vessel when it becomes a hassle or a stress to get good service at the dealership it takes too much of the fun out of the. Whole thing i am not a demanding or a nasty person but it sure is nice to have a trouble free experience from a professional and caring dealership when i do get treated well or the opposite i do. Not have any problems letting other know what my experience was with that group I appreciate you doing the same as a former Florida resident ill be happy to share your knowledge to others in the State as well God Bless and safe travels

Rv dealers in my experience have been no help I don't use them at all. I have a friend that I work with he just bought a brand new RV from the RV show we had a few weeks ago. He hasn't even took it out on a trip yet and It has leaking waterlines and a couple other issues. It has been in the shop for a while now I say at least a week at the dealer. He has called numerous times and the dealer has not returned any of his calls. They just will not give him a straight answer just lots of run around. I use some small time local mechanics that seem to do good work and not empty all of my checking account. Be safe on the road I plan on getting on the road full time sometime this year.

Back in the 1990,s i almost bought i used rv, gen set did not run. left there late in the evening and was there early the next morning. they wanted 6k more for a generator that was not supposed to be installed. My neighbor was a tech and told them but they did it anyhow and gave me a hard time with my deposit. He only lasted a few years and quit , prior to the move to that facility from tampa he had no problem working for them.

After a bunch of b.s. they gave me my deposit back.I was not going to pay for a new generator when i could have fixed the one on it, hrs were under 500 if i remember correctly. I found one we liked a few weeks later thru a private seller and it worked out to be a better deal. I have not purchased new, came close a few times. I can repair my own vehicles and financially it has worked out well thru the yrs and on my 5th rv. I am sure you know the drill, growing family, upgraded. Now they are adults and downsized to a c class. (sorry so long) take care, watch the repairs, a fool could get you killed. Tom

WELCOME TO OUR NIGHTMARE: We still have nightmares after purchasing our 2012 Tiffin Allegro Openroad from Lazy Days. It was our third Class A, but first time purchase from Lazydays, and a total rip off. We were there 23 days! Starting with the worst salesman ever to the worst maintenance manager, everything was the worst experience ever! We ended up calling Tim Tiffin directly, then they moved their Lazy asses and completed the maintenance needed! Plus the big kicker was after we were there for 20 days, still waiting on repair/replacement issues, they told us we were there too long & we would have to start paying for our lot! Which we didn't after my wife got her class out & hunted down the Sales Manager (still wonder if the Sales person got canned after she left.... Don't get me wrong, my wife is a super sweet woman, just don't take her for a doormat or patronize her, which the salesman did.) From beginning (the worst salesman ever) to waiting over a week at the end, for someone to replace the passenger side/right side fan. RUN AWAY FAST & NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM LAZYDAYS! We now buy from a dealer in TN & are very happy campers!

This video is so true. This dealership is the worst. The service department is the most incompetent group of people. They will lie to your face saying your rig is fixed. If you actually inspect it before you leave, you will realize they had a minimum wage jiffy lube reject hack the living hell out of your brand new coach. And they expect you to thank them for it. Not to mention they will start whatever is not tied down in your coach and then blame you. Take pictures of your coach before you step foot on their property.

I've been window shopping for a travel trailer (off road boondocking, drycamping with the wife) for over a year now, but the more I research, the more I've fallen down the youtube rabbit hole of the slimeyness of the RV industry as a whole. It seems none of the classes of RV's is immune to this. Every owner from a 30K TT to half a million dollar diesel pushers have the same stories to tell. Just not sure I want to expose myself to this.

  • @concernedpatriot.2221

Every single RV dealer is the same. NO EXCEPTIONS. I have never seen people perform such shoddy work then RV mechanics.
I take my RV to independent mechanics. Example of something in the house side breaks, I call a mobile mechanic, if I can’t fix it myself. The engine part, I found a great diesel mechanic in my area.
I’ve bought 3 coaches and the only coach that went to the dealer for repairs, was my first travel trailer, I learned my lesson real quick. The second and third coaches, both class A have never gone back to a dealer. I don’t even care about warranty. If you take your coach to fix a warranty issue, they won’t fix it correctly and break 5 other things in the process.

Dealers like lazy days dont give a dam about after the sale service .

Actually, that locknut on the steering coupler probably came from the chassis manufacturer that way. The dealer doesn't bother with a fine tooth inspection because they A: don't give a shat, and B: assume that the chassis maker did the job properly. But yeah, that could for sure be a very big, potentially deadly problem with the too short bolt holding all that together. Also, the proper way to do that is with the proper length bolt and a NEW ny-lock nut, properly torqued for the size bolt. (20 years master auto tech, aircraft structural mechanic, etc)
But these guys probably ain't no worse than the Camping World chain:

I only pointed it out because your Post is about Lazydays but it seemed like you through RV One (a Different Company across the Highway) in there by mistake. I went to RV One in Orlando. They are all kind of terrible due to the unprofessional nature of the Industry. Acceptable Levels of Mediocrity is the best we can hope for. Can't wait until Hymer or several incredible European Companies make the move over here. They actually Engineer their Vehicles instead of throwing them together on an assembly line full of untrained locals.

If you pay 6 figures for a motor coach and do not get proper service I would contact the manufacturer of the motor coach and complain about the inept dealer network.. Document the shoddy repairs and turn complaint over to Federal Transportation authority and state attorney general for further investigation . If you have equipment failure and cause a tragic accident the dealer will be held liable .

I'm thinking that Lazy Days stands to lose significant revenue if they lose even a few buyers due to your report. With the very high prices of these coaches, the profits on even a couple sales amounts to a pretty penny I'm sure. I also posted a video documenting a manufacturer who refused to stand behind their warranty. I made the repair myself for an insignificant amount of money. The fact is that if my video affects even one buyer's choice, they stand to lose thousands of dollars (on a single sale) where they could have made me a happy customer for less than $20. Not only has my video been seen now by over 1600 people, they will also lose all the potential positive advertising I was prepared to provide as we travel extensively and film our camping adventures for UA-cam (I removed portions of the graphics so as to make their brand unrecognizable). When will manufacturers learn that a happy customer is preferable to an unhappy customer ?

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  7 років тому +1

That's the whole point. They don't give a F*** as they can't produce them quick enough. Oh what a short memory they have. They are stocking up the dealers with 12 months wort of stock and if they are not careful they are going to catch a cold. The bit I can never get my head around is that your repair would have cost them far less than the $20 you paid and you would not only recommend them to others but would probably buy from them again in the future. Clearly the people in charge of the manufactures only live for the moment. Very short sighted.
