I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making such a simple and concise tutorial! I wanted to make something special for my friend to wear for her bachelorette party; I know she loves antlers and flower crowns so I ended up combining the two and added some LEDs to make the flowers glow! She loved it so much but what I loved the most was the fact how sturdy the antlers turned out to be! She got so many compliments on her special night! Keep up the good work, I'm a huge fan of your channel! ^__^
I am so excited for your friend and so happy you found the tutorial helpful! The addition of the LED lights sounds amazing, I bet the final results were stunning!
Try sewing or gluing a couple hair clips ( the type they have on hair pieces), to the underside of the hair band. They can grip the hair and help to hold it in place.
I have a heavy sugar skull crown I’m thinking of Doing the hair combs all around and attach a band under? Is their any videos showing securing head pieces?
Those are so beautiful even just with the tin foil and the you got to the gold gradient and I was so amazed how beautiful this is and the flowers really bring it together and you don't even have to and the flowers I think it would look just as good with the just the chain hanging of it. This headpiece is BEA-U-TI-FUL 💜👍👍👍💜
lol I know what my next Halloween costume is gonna be! I probably would make it look just a bit more natural? Without the flowers and the necklace stuff. An I might make the antlers maybe a bit bigger. But I love it so much! I am feeling very inspired!
is there any alternative to plaster bandages? just curious, cause I don't know if I'll be able to access them! the antlers look gorgeous and enchanting, I really love the chains on them!!
More recently I have worked with a product called Foam Clay and that's a fantastic option as well. It is much lighter than the plaster and you can smooth it out with water while working with it, which would eliminate the need to sand the horns at all :)
This is so helpful because a character I really want to cosplay has antlers and I can’t seem to find any antlers that look exactly how the characters antlers are
Other than the plaster bandage, which you might have to go to an art store for, everything can be found at a dollar store. You can even use wire for gardening or from coat hangers if needed ^_^
A really great tutorial! Did you apply more then one layer of plaster bandages? Also how heavy are these? Are you able to move your head fairly freely or do you have to be careful to hold the antlers balances on your head?
I only applied one layer of plaster bandages, but you could of course apply more if you like. They're not super heavy or anything but they do have weight to them. Side to side movement was very easy, I just couldn't throw my head back without it sliding like a pair of sunglasses haha
Just a tip, antlers usually go a bit backwards when growing out the head, and some (like with deer) then curve forward. But that's just if you're looking for something super realistic!
It should still work. The one advantage of masking tape is that it has a bit of grip for the plaster on top, so you may find the clear tape a little slippery but if you wrap the plaster around itself it shouldn't be a problem :)
You might find the tape leaves straight lines where they wrap around once you paint, but if that doesn't bother you much then you can totally skip the plaster bandage ^_^
Where can you find the plaster bandage? Craft stores? It looks exactly like medical cast material! probably because it is... just wonder what brick & Mortar stores I could find that from! It gave your antlers such a realistic look compared to other tutorials i saw using other materials! I love that you can sand it when you're done! If anyone could let me know about the plaster bandage though, that would be great!
Punk Penguin With a smaller set of antlers or different method I think a strong thin band like the metal ones could work great. These just have a bit of weight to them so the larger headband acts as a stabilizer ^_^
Who knows if you will reply to this since it's such an old video 😅 but... I want to make a headband like this for a music festival but I'm going to have my hair braided, probably 4 box braids and I'm just wondering if putting a headband on top of braids is going to 1) stay on securely and 2) look good... I'm hoping you've tried this 😁
I unfortunately haven't tried with a braided hair style but I few things I could suggest for security would be: -getting a handband that feels comfortable and well fitted to your head before crafting -making the antlers lighter on your head so they aren't prone to shifting. Something that didn't exist when I made these was Foam Clay. If I redid them now I would make a tin foil base and then cover them in foam clay. It can be smoothed out with some water on your fingertips and dries incredibly light ^_^ That, or depending on budget, a lot of 3D printers (on like Etsy or other selling platforms) now offer antler prints and those would be incredibly light as well
i have encountered 1 problem. i did myself antlers similar to urs, but a lil longer. problem is that the hair band is really shaking on my head. i need to hold my head so straight. does someone have an idea how to fix the hairband 😅 to make it more powerful in gripping
If they're real antlers, they might be too heavy for the headband but hopefully you could reinforce it a bit with wires and make it work better for you. You also might end up wanting to use a stronger glue like e6000 and let that dry to secure them. I would say try it out! Just be ready to make some adjustments if necessary :D
WOAH! VIDEO WENT STRAIGHT TO THE POINT?! SINCE WHEN DOES THAT HAPPEN?!
Also.... **dies form beauty overload**
I really like it when that happens

This is such an amazing video! I really appreciate all the detail you went into. Feeling very inspired 💞👏🏻👏🏻
Can I paint my antlers with acrylic paint or do I need spray paint?
This reminds me of Keyleth's antler headdress and would be a really good way to make it, just changing the angle and placement of the antlers.
Me: "It looks easy"
Me 3 freaking hours later: OMFG I HATE PLASTER BANDAGE HFOSBEJFBD
Also realized i used 16 gauge wire instead of 14......O-O
I did it for myself! It was incredible. Thank you very much for the wonderfull tutorial !!!
I'm so happy you were able to use this!! I bet you look super magical ^_^ Hehe
Im doing this for Halloween this year..you make it so simple and easy!! You did an amazing job,
so beautiful!!
my friend is useing this for hiveswap for the guy with antler horns
omg same. I'm sure you could even get model magic foam/clay stuffs and glue it to the headband it's self
Thank you for this brilliant tutorial. I made these antlers decorated with a feather centrepiece for my daughter. She loves them!
Can you please tell me how heavy is the headpiece at the end?
It should be around a pound. The flowers are light as well as the aluminum and not a whole lot of wire was used. Idk about the plaster, though.
Those are so beautiful even just with the tin foil and the you got to the gold gradient and I was so amazed how beautiful this is and the flowers really bring it together and you don't even have to and the flowers I think it would look just as good with the just the chain hanging of it. I thought I put a lot of work into my creations but you went INNNN!! SO INSPIRED I LOVE IT XOX
Haha you DO put in a long of work to your creations and they are phenomneal!
Thank you so much!
Wonderful! I especially like the chains and the chosen paint colours.
do you think air dry foam clay (crayola) would work for the horns in place of the foil/tape/plaster combo?
Again super late response but air foam clay is known for cracking pretty hard core so even tho it may be lighter, it may not be the best choice.
This is absolutely gorgeous! It's easy and cheap.. Can't wait to try it!
This is perfect for my Louis (Beastars) cosplay. Thank you so much!!
im going to do this but as a full plaster mask. thank you for your inspirations!!!
That sounds awesome! I'm sure it will turn out amazing :D
I started making my mask and I love how it's turning out. thank you so much for this video and your inspiration!
Cool video. Going straight to my accessory tutorial list
ThankYou so much! You save my deer costume! Greetings from Colombia! :D
Can I ask how heavy this was? Did it stay on your head or keep falling?
Those look great! I'm a little confused as to why you added the chains, though. It kind of seems to contrast with the forest spirit vibe.
Haha to me they more reflected an idea of cobwebs interlacing through the antlers
But also because I just like the look of them ^_^
That makes sense :)
instead of chains you can put fake vines and moss that would look extraordinary
Do you think this same method could be in use with a crown?
You always have cool music in your videos
Beautiful craft-man ship brings out the enchantment deer
Okay, since these are made of plaster, contact with water will destroy them, right?
What size of headband did you use ??? This is beautiful 😍❤
I’m making some horns in a style like this, where did you get the plaster bandage/tape? I can’t seem to find it.
lol I know what my next Halloween costume is gonna be! I probably would make it look just a bit more natural? Without the flowers and the necklace stuff. An I might make the antlers maybe a bit bigger. But I love it so much! I am feeling very inspired!
I'm planning on making Robert Baratheon's armor and I wasn't sure how to make stag antlers for the helmet, but now I know. Thanks for posting this!
Because of this tutorial, I scored an A- (92%) on my final art project. Thank you so much for this very thorough tutorial!
WOW, that is very beautiful and creative , I would love to make that !!
Could you be a little more specific with the wire? Like, is it conducting wire or..?
Description.
Could an air dry clay be used as a substitution for plaster?
kinda wanna make this for a drag costume lol
do ittttt!!

YASSS DRAH
DO IT!
Yesssssssss
I made one to wear at Christmas and it looks amazing!!!

This is cool! Is there a way where u can fit deer ears to the headband?
I absolutely have to try this.
Amazing! It looks so realistic! Great job! 👏👏👏
Is it pretty heavy?
Could you use paper mache instead of plaster?
Alexdrawrz Yes you just can't sand it as easily as plaster but it will work the same for strengthening ^_^
But if you use paper mâché clay, it'll sand just as easily
WILL TRY THIS. SUPER CUTE!!
whoa. cool. I'm going to make these one day
Can I use poster paint on this? 😆
Would glods of hot glue work for texture
I am following this tutorial to make dragon horns. haha!
que hermoso trabajo haces. me siento feliz de haber encontrado tu canal, me va a servir muchìsimo!!
Thanks for making this video! I’ve been trying to find out how to do this.
How long did this take to dry? Do you think you could make this in the morning and wear it that night?
I dont really remember how long it took to dry, sorry, but I dont think it would dry in under a day.
My problem was I had antlers already I just needed to somehow put them on a headband. I had a pretty good idea now after watching this thanks mate! :D
This is so helpful because a character I really want to cosplay has antlers and I can’t seem to find any antlers that look exactly how the characters antlers are
that come out really well. awesome work :)
This is amazing!!! So excited to try - THANK YOU!
Amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this!!
this is amazing!! definitely gonna do something like this for my keyleth cosplay
Love it !!!! Great diy
How much does all of this cost?
I have an allowance of 50$ and
If you know anymore ways pls
Tell me!

Do you think I could use regular (shiny/see through) tape instead of masking tape?
It should still work. The one advantage of masking tape is that it has a bit of grip for the plaster on top, so you may find the clear tape a little slippery but if you wrap the plaster around itself it shouldn't be a problem :)
Thank you so much! It worked really well! :D
Would this still look okay without the plaster bandages if I was tidy with the normal tape?
You might find the tape leaves straight lines where they wrap around once you paint, but if that doesn't bother you much then you can totally skip the plaster bandage ^_^
@@NsomniaksDream ok, thanks so much!!
This is absolutely awesome!! Love the details and how well paced the instructing is! Subscribed!

Mere Fille Beauty Co. they should be sold at art/craft/hobby stores, Idk if you live by any but I found some at Pat Catan's :^O
you should do a xerneas inspired makeup and headpiece
Is there any way to make this without such a bulky headband? I have really short hair and would like to have the headband covered
Punk Penguin With a smaller set of antlers or different method I think a strong thin band like the metal ones could work great. These just have a bit of weight to them so the larger headband acts as a stabilizer ^_^
NsomniaksDream okay thank you I will use this advice. I am planning on making a cosplay so this was very helpful. I appreciate your advice.
Wow, That amazing.
Aesthetically pleasing
Will 16 gauge wire work ok?
So pretty!
Thank you so so much! This is the cheapest variant for me, holy deer! ♡
Is it a male deer? 🦌 , cuz does don't have antlers
Sarah Lopen or a fawn they have antlers

A-ma-ZING! I made these and I love them! It's my first Halloween costume that I made instead of bought. Thanks for the tutorial! :)
Ah yay! I am so excited this tutorial was able to help you!
I hope your Halloween is amazing - kudos on maknig everything :D
could you paper mache after the masking tape? if you dont have plaster
Planet Cosplay that's what I'm wondering too
Omg is buy these for no reason😍

Is there a way to not put on the flowers?
Thanks for making this! I'm gonna try this for halloween!
can you do the wire part with pipe cleaners?
Hmm you could try - I'd suggesting twisting at least two together to get the strength needed of the wire inside but it should work ^^
Heck no
Omg thank you I needed this!!!
