This is excellent. Gave me goosebumps. Donna made her voice more ‘rock’ for this track. But she had one hell of a range, there is a video on here of her on German tv singing could it be magic live to a backing track, she puts so much power into the vocals all the vu meters must have been in the red, at the end the track fades but Donna keeps singing, sounds just like the record. The vocal isolation is pure gold, great work please do more.
So happy I found this channel. I especially love these STEM tours. Yes, you could go directly into the mixer from the synths. Technically you can go directly in from guitar and bass too, but back then you wouldn’t get that extra “flavor” added by the amp. Nowadays you can do that stuff with effect plugins. It was cool hearing the tenor sax solo (I play sax, keys and other stuff), but I think they went with the guitar because they were going for a rock edge.
I' d really, really love to listen to music with you and analize it or just listen to it....with you...❣️🙃😍 Not only that you are a fantastic Drummer & teacher - you r so smart & funny - love ya 🌈👽🖖😘🙏
What a delightful analysis of the tracks on this song. Thank you Emma.
As a guitar player, I played this song myself in a band I worked with.
The guitar solo is very interesting.

WOW! Makes me appreciate the song and Donna even more!
Synths on this track were definitely direct into the desk. Wasn’t very common to record synths through an amp back then.

Emma, love these STEM tours, especially the Carpenters. How do we get our hands on STEM?
I've asked this before too but they never answer
Great Emma !!!

Jeff Baxter... Guitar Solo..
The guitar solo is pretty cool, but it’s not sax, which is automatically cooler.
