And to think that this plane had a hush kit. Starting in 2000, 727s had to have hush kits installed in order to keep operating in the U.S. Prior to that, it was wild when a 727 would take off. I miss seeing 3 turbine jetliners, as a kid I remember seeing these in the air from a side angle at a far distance and the 3rd turbine would be the most noticeable thing on the plane. Such linear memories, truly miss the early 2000s
Up until about 2 years ago, Cargojet operated a small fleet of 722-Fs out of Hamilton Ontario. At that time I lived in the tri-city area, about 50km north of CYHM. I remember one spring night waking up to a thunderous rumble. I thought, 'why on earth is a CF-18 making a departure out of Kitchener-Waterloo at this hour?' I loaded up flight radar and lo and behold, it was a Cargojet 722 passing over at 10,000ft. It was glorious.
Back in the mid '70s, my dad would take us kids out to Indianapolis International and plane watch. I'd love hearing these "Three Holers" take off. The ground would shake!
Back in the 60’s and 70’s I thought that was the coolest looking airliner ever. In the 90’s I flew on one, a charter from Milwaukee to Vegas, and it was the worst flight ever. Packed into a full plane like sardines for 3:45… agony. I mostly have flown on 737’s in recent years, and they’re pretty nice.
I remember watching the old Pan-Am 727-200F cargo planes taking off from Puerto Rico when they still had the JT8D-1 engines and the sound is stupendous. It really was a masterpiece. I’m currently reviving an old TWA 727-200F for my company. Due to efficiency Im installing new JT8D-217 engines on it but are currently in talks to see if we can get by with removing the hush kit so we can sneak the old school unhindered sound back. Obviously, this risks certain liabilities given the new rules but on the off chance we can work it, would you like to come out and video the girl when she’s done? She’s going to be modified as I’ve selected to add modern avionics where we could.
i remember these dc-9s, md-80s and 737-200s going over my house out of kansas city back in the 80s you could hear that jt8d rumble for 15 minutes or so tell you could barely see a speck in the sky

VP-BAP flies out of Van Nuys every once in a while. When departing south, it takes a wide climbing turn to the east giving a beautiful profile view of the graceful lines. IMO, 727 is the most graceful looking airliner when seen in flight.
I used to fly on TWA and AA's 727s in the late 1980's and '90s. The cabin seemed very roomy, for a single aisle plane, and it was very quiet (unless you were in the back 2 or 3 rows). The only thing I didn't like is on the initial climb, if you were in the last 10 rows or so, it would often feel like the plane was falling out from underneath you when she cut the power back or into a cloud.
The 727 was the first plane that I flew on more than 50 years ago. Then 3 years ago I got on an alligent A320 Sounded like a bee.. I loved the 727 roar

Absolutely! The sound of those PW engines never gets old.
Such a beautiful Aircraft. Loved the roar of the engines.
Dragster 726 was a good call sign as he sounded like a dragster accelerating on his takeoff run...Nice!
This is by far the BEST sound recording I have ever listened to on UA-cam!! What a great aircraft, the mighty 727!
Phone speaker doesn't do it justice, and that puppy had "hush kits"...still beautiful sound!
Die Boeing 727 war und ist das beste Flugzeug aller Zeiten. Bin immer gerne mitgeflogen.
I got 80 dB from a Cargojet 722 at 10,000 ft it rattled the house.
That is amazing!! These birds are truly one of a kind, thank you for sharing that story!
How badass is it that their ICAO code is "Dragster"
Back in the mid '70s, my dad would take us kids out to Indianapolis International and plane watch. I'd love hearing these "Three Holers" take off. The ground would shake!
Amazing!! Thanks for commenting!
Such an beautiful bird
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Interesting! Sounds like the airline chose a bad configuration. Thanks for watching!
As an everyday worker for JB on their Airbus aircraft and 190s....the T tail airliners will always be my favorites
727, still my favorite jet. 😊
Loved the call sign……”dragster”
That is incredible!! Sorry for the extremely late response. Is the project still in work? Please email us if it is (contact info on our "about" page)!
Music to my ears!
Wow! Great 727 takeoff sound!
I sure do Miss those Days of Aviation ACTION...Especially with the B727😞😞🙏🏻
Sure wish we could relive the glory days of aviation. But it's great to see some of these old birds still flying! Thanks for commenting!
i remember these dc-9s, md-80s and 737-200s going over my house out of kansas city back in the 80s you could hear that jt8d rumble for 15 minutes or so tell you could barely see a speck in the sky
Amazing!! Thanks for commenting!
Amazing sound, great airplane Love it..!! thanks for share...
Thank you!
Ahh, the glorious sounds of a real jet. I miss the glory days of air travel.
Greetings from Scotland, came across your video tremendous what a sound. I have literally just caught a 727 arrival and departure at Prestwick this week, all I can say is it was worth the wait these ole girls are awesome. Liked and subbed to your channel
Thank you so much! The sound of the 727 is absolutely amazing.
JT8D has an amazing sound!!!!
VP-BAP flies out of Van Nuys every once in a while. When departing south, it takes a wide climbing turn to the east giving a beautiful profile view of the graceful lines. IMO, 727 is the most graceful looking airliner when seen in flight.
Such a stunning machine! Fantastic video, well done man! :)
Thank you so much dude!! Sorry for the late response, but it's better late than never! :)
Beautiful, just beautiful!!👍🏼
@3:05 they plucked her eyebrows; gorgeous, the sound of jet power, she commands the runway.
The JT8D power is insane! Thanks for commenting!
The sound of my childhood. ✌🏻💙

Just beautiful
727 said to all the other planes. Hold my beer!
Really didn't want to lift wow but what a sound!
Nothing like it. Thanks.

Not going to lie but the V2500 sounds great too.
The 727 was the first plane that I flew on more than 50 years ago. Then 3 years ago I got on an alligent A320
Sounded like a bee.. I loved the 727 roar
That's super cool! Modern airplanes really can't compare. Thank you for commenting!
