Isn't it Grant's usual schedule to work on two playthroughs simultaneously, releasing video on each every other day? Which means 1hp Heart of the Swarm will continue tomorrow.
I probably should have explained better. 1 hit zerg vs cheat run just seemed like a humorous pairing to me. Like the cheat run was a way to de-stress and have fun after the challenge of zerglings that die in one shot from siege tanks.
It really does feel like a testament to how much necessary time (cutscenes, menuing, just building things and moving across maps) there is in most RTS speedruns that this is only ~half an hour faster than your normal any% speedrun. Not saying they are boring speedruns per se (RTS speedruns can be really interesting to route sometimes, and minute differences can be massive time saves as even a few unit loses can compound), but definitely not as flashy as something like a Mario 64 or Ocarina of Time or other nintendo game, which would probably change pretty drastically if you could enable a single gameshark cheat like super jump or infinite damage or invulnerability. Though maybe not considering how the any% routes for most of those games are pretty much about wrong warping or skipping past 95% of the game at this point. Something like All Dungeons or 120 star would probably be very different routing though.
I kinda wanna see this spur others to try it. Its a very silly speed run, but if people counted warp skipping in Elden Ring, it has value- And its funny as hell.
it could be a legit speedrun category as new strats could be found and created not just spamming godmode every mission plus a lot of optimazation and routing
I feel like a cheater speedrun with these rules is more interesting in SCI because Power Overwhelming doesn't give bonus damage. So there's more options.
And if there's too little cheats, you could make it so you could use them again only if you used up every other cheat. That way it's possible to do the entire trilogy+nova thing.
I'd be interested in a "resource cheats only" run (credits included?). I wonder if that would make the units that are usually too expensive viable. But it might equally just end in spamming the same composition most of the way or you'd build up a force so quick that it would trivialise too many missions.
At the start of the video and wondering, would there be enough cheat to add to the rules: "each cheat can only be used once", allowing for more pathing options? EDIT: yeah that idea might be a bit wonky. Maybe with "thrice each", but it's less pressure and novelty than I thought.
There isn't, but "used twice" there is.EDIT: Alternatively, a one-cheat-run% could exist, where you burn WhatIsBestInLife on All In pretty much 100%, but you might have one or two missions with no cheats possible (likely the first and Zero Hour and the third protoss mission).
While taking down only hatcheries/production structures on timed missions before triggering the insta-win code makes sense, taking down all buildings is more in line with the few SC1/2 timed missions that actually have an alt win condition.
Harder to verify, though. I'm sure someone could easily do a mod that notifies you or lets you check (maybe with a hotkey) when you've destroyed all enemy production/all enemy buildings, though.
@@SparkSovereign I agree, that is a tradeoff, though if this were made into an actual category, it could be required to use the map vision cheat at the end of the mission for verification. Or toggle map vision on and off at the start of the mission just to show all building locations. Or perhaps insta-win isn't treated as a cheat code, just as an alternative win condition that Blizzard didn't program in. This could be streamlined quite a bit with a lightweight mod. Choose your cheat right before starting the mission, auto check for no enemy buildings as an alt win condition, etc. Of course, the downside is it would make this run less accessible. Which, I know, the chances of it ever evolving into an actual speedrun category is pretty low, but you never know.
A title of this video reminded me that a few years ago I've heard a GTA speedrunner being asked if he considered a cheat run just for fun and he said yes, and it took him longer to finish the game since he didn't optimise it. Looking forward to this video as it surely will be a ton of fun content!
Maybe an even more fun variant: use only 1 cheat per mission, but no repeats until you used all of them. Maphacks might be very interesting for The Dig for instance. I think the autowin cheat would not be fun as a standard for a speedrunning category as it means specific missions would always be skipped. But maybe for Zero Hour it is actually nice?
Would have been more interesting if you had to use a different cheat code for every mission, and only when you'd used them all up could you start again.
This would be very interesting in Vanilla/BW as well as wc3. Cheesing the 10k resources missions in BW Zerg and RoC orc would be hilarious. I think for speed running operation cwal or show me the money might be better than power overwhelming on non-objective-killing missions. Maybe you should just forbid godmode cheats entirely. Then ThereIsNoSpoon might end up being the strongest cheat in Warcraft 3.
Losing units through god mode is reminding me of WC2. I would often struggle as a kid and use the god mode cheat, but casters would still polymorph/death coil through it
Going off this speedrun I have an idea for future cheat codes. What if, you can only use a cheatcode once. Like you have to pick and choose which ones, after you use it, you can't use it anymore for the rest of the run. Also the run has to be played on nightmare. With the idea you still have to try to speedrun it. Not sure if you can use cheat codes on modded missions, but that is my idea for it.
This'd be a neat speedrun category, considering it adds another layer of strategy. You can't use the instant win cheat - maybe even add the condition that you need to get ALL research for it to count - so it comes down to the strategy of "what cheat is the fastest in what mission?" because god mode isn't the fastest in a few of them, imo.
For build missions, I would use moredotsmoredots to eliminate all costs, that cheat to make everything faster (I forgot) and the one that eliminates supply cost (I also forgot).
technicaly you could use cheatcode with armory scores + lab research on first mission, and lets say marauders one, walking them threw without any others. so might be time save + efficiency
Hi Grant, "can't use the same cheat twice in a row" may help with creativity if this becomes its own category. Can't just spam instant win, but can strategically use it
baha, i just did a God Mode playthrough. I actually find it fun to just play OP. I use that, the resources cheat (whorunbartertown) and the speed up cheat (catfoodforprawnguns). It creates a fun and quick play through. I wish there was a cheat to either do the damage increase or the immortal, just for other funs sake (like SC1, Power Overwhelming doesnt increase your damage, so you cant just clear the map with 3 units). but yea, its really fun to play like this. Im surprised he didnt use the credit cheat (whysoserious) though, so he could get all the upgrades. Seems like an appropriate cheat given the context.
Live footage of Giant cheating for 1 hour 22 minutes and 16 seconds Gonna watch it in 240p for that extra "Trust me bro, recorded on my nokia phone cam" feel
I think the instant victory command on destruction of all enemy bases should be automatic. Having to play the mission normally kinda makes it not as interesting. Also, this ruleset does not really allow the less immediatelly powerful cheats to shine, like map vision.
I kinda like map vision being paired with "instant victory on destruction of enemies" even though it's technically two cheats; it synergizes naturally and lets you verify you've accomplished your objective, without adding in extra mods.
Let's FUCKING go thank you grant so much my flight got delayed for 8 hours and I'm waiting in airport rn thank you for uploading this sudden surprise now I have stuff to watch
"Damn Jimmy... Are those cheatcodes?"
"Good eyes Tychus, we can use them to speedrun this game as fast as possible."
Bold move, Mr. Raynor, collecting terrazine from thirteen places at once!
1 hit zerglingswarm must be harder than expected.
Why ?
He’s not doing it today lol
Isn't it Grant's usual schedule to work on two playthroughs simultaneously, releasing video on each every other day?
Which means 1hp Heart of the Swarm will continue tomorrow.
He normally does two series, alternating from day to day. The Purifiers one just ended, so this is taking up that slot.
I probably should have explained better.
1 hit zerg vs cheat run just seemed like a humorous pairing to me. Like the cheat run was a way to de-stress and have fun after the challenge of zerglings that die in one shot from siege tanks.
Grant: *tries to speedrun a mission*
Zeratul: Not until I'm done talking.
Grant will never escape monologuist Zeratul
I see that Grant decided to do this as a speedrun to avoid doctor Hansen.
The amount of times the hotkey gremlin struck lmfao
If only there was a way to never have this problem xD

"Sir these are protoss archons"
"Matt ... are you allright? Did you find my booze stash?"
You should change it: You can use one cheat per mission, but not the same cheat more than once.
Or you can use every cheat only once, but you can "waste" multiple cheats on the same quest.
Was about to suggest the same thing
And if there's too little cheats, you could make it so you could use them again only if you used up every other cheat.
That way it's possible to do the entire trilogy+nova thing.
Or any cheat per level but you can use the same one only one in three (or other) scenarios
I'd be interested in a "resource cheats only" run (credits included?). I wonder if that would make the units that are usually too expensive viable. Now complete Wings of Liberty with Wraiths/Predators only
0:05 "If it is stupid it and works, it aint stupid" sounds like would apply perfectly for this :)

This would actually be a nice speedrun category.
The Evil Mastermind Duo:
-Zeratul.
-Hotkey Gremlin.

Oh boy, here we go again.
"When you go hack you never go back" - said no one ever
I wonder if the Ripfields could kill the invincible Firewall on Supernova
Would have been more interesting if you had to use a different cheat code for every mission, and only when you'd used them all up could you start again.
Actually Johnny is already dead in SCBW.
In the mission Patriot's Blood, a random marine: "Ugh, oh man... Poor Johnny"
the undead killing field in dalaran also damages through immortal cheat
I already knew this! How? Because that's... how I usually play the campaign...
...don't laugh too hard, please...
The hotkey goblin was RAVENOUS today
No medic and stim sounds like good thing for 1 hit swarm mod.
This would be very interesting in Vanilla/BW as well as wc3. Cheesing the 10k resources missions in BW Zerg and RoC orc would be hilarious. Petition to make this how defense missions are doing in speedruns
Losing units through god mode is reminding me of WC2. I would often struggle as a kid and use the god mode cheat, but casters would still polymorph/death coil through it
Oh this isn't what I thought you were doing. New challenge idea: Cheat speed run, but you're only allowed to use each cheat once per campaign!
I've disliked playing Raynor in co-op until you told me how to play him: barracks in the combat control group! Good idea! Thanks man!
This'd be a neat speedrun category, considering it adds another layer of strategy. so might be time save + efficiency
fairly shore to get the nuke on the tosh mission you need the second/last forward position getting built and then get vision of the main gate.
Hi Grant, "can't use the same cheat twice in a row" may help with creativity if this becomes its own category. Can't just spam instant win, but can strategically use it
Now I want to see an optimized version of this run.
I feel like Grant is influential enough in the community thst this could spawn a full new category. And if so, I was here for the world first.
1:48 how to adjust the game speed very quickly? because I don't remember the combination
Ripfields remove HP rather than do damage, so damage immunity of TerribleTerribleDamage doesn't matter.
I love this. I play 90% of the mods you showcase with the cheats and I can still lose 😂
Meanwhile good doc Hanson still waiting for that evac

Cheater Cheater pumpkin eater had a wife but couldn't keep her and then she turned into a hybrid being that saved the universe.
I love the idea ! This was very fun to watch
ouuuouh this is a nice ruleset! Really looking forward to watching this on my comfy sunday morning with a nice breakfast. Thanks Grant!
Hybrid is unkillable!
Raynor fires plasma gun with TerribleTerribleDamage!
So since Grant always have issues with hotkeys being unbound, we just need him to do a no hotkeys run :D, that way that wont be an issue :D
You should do a run where you can only use each cheat once
Live footage of Giant cheating for 1 hour 22 minutes and 16 seconds
Gonna watch it in 240p for that extra "Trust me bro, recorded on my nokia phone cam" feel
It would be fun if drill gained more attack damage once you gained control of it and destroyed vault before gaining relicts.
I'm interested in running this, am I allowed to use wapboinkers during the run?
Realscale did the unbinding I'm pretty sure.
Had similar trouble while playing it
01:00 Grant: "I just don't want to bore myself for 20min." Understandable Grant Hahaha
Hell yea got here in less than a minute
Love your content, GGG
4:40 thats fiiine!
Isn't that faster to do the BC mission the way you did, grab 2 bonus objectives with 2 out of 3 BCs on the way and completely skip overmind mission?
Hotkey Gremlins strike again!
Nuts its past 5 mins
I would not be mad at instant wining zero hour with no condition either xD
A more interesting version of this would be 1 cheat per campaign.
So one cheat in All-in only?
No cheatcodes for the hyperion mission?
No whysoserious or horadriccube?
I think the instant victory command on destruction of all enemy bases should be automatic. Having to play the mission normally kinda makes it not as interesting. Also, this ruleset does not really allow the less immediatelly powerful cheats to shine, like map vision.

This gave me a dumb challenge idea.
Can you beat StarCraft using only the minimap?
Nice video. I think this could even be a cool main channel one if you optimise it a bit :)
congratulations grant !
hotkey gremlin strikes again!
Graaaaaant, please start using hotkey profiles for the CCM, your hotkeys keep breaking! XD
Let's FUCKING go thank you grant so much my flight got delayed for 8 hours and I'm waiting in airport rn thank you for uploading this sudden surprise now I have stuff to watch
Can implode kill through God Mode?
Use the mineral cheat for Miras marauders
Ok now that seems funny
And here I though this video will expose a cheated run or something. My disappointment.
Can you make this with HOTS please😊
play wol with leaveyoursleep, all units and upgrades unlocked but no other cheat and speed run XD
That's an actual cheat? I could combine that with others to throw a fleet of capitals at every mission?
@@DemonMankeyMan yes. you can play zero hour with seige tanks.
under hour gang let´s go
Wooh so fast.
Hype!
