Until you have a serious accident and they take the car away to test for brake failure, steering issues, Oh and any ECU mods. Would not want to be that person with the Insurance company refusing to pay out. @@pigeonpoo1823
@@pigeonpoo1823still detectable if they look at the ecu (and they often do for cars like this) as they can read the boost levels amongst other parameters. Insurance doesn’t change much with a remap or piggyback ecu, but Audi warranty will be buggered. Only reason I’m not tuning mine as I know it would make a hell of a difference.
On both occasions when you put your foot down in the tuned Golf R you cars traction control couldn't handle it, you went sideways. Maybe 100 bhp is too much, would going up 50 bhp be better?
Pretty good video. I reckon that the Audi S3 is a bit of a performance bargain. It is almost exactly the same price as a VW Golf GTI Clubsport, yet has 4WD and nappa leather.
Very interesting. I’m curious to find out if the remapped version of the S3/Golf R would feel closer to the RS3 now, too? Or do you think the RS3 is more refined and can handle the power better?
I have a mk8 fiesta ST-Line with 100hp. Mapped to 140hp and when there was a sensor issue, Ford did a health check. Could not detect anything! So if they don't know, neither need an insurance company. That and Eagle F1's and the little thing is superb fun!
Audi s3 8y motor/turbo/fueling and gearbox is the exact same as the new MK8R only difference is the Mk8r has the new torque Vectoring system but over both cars have big potential to demolish some higher end cars.
in dynamic it can be harsh but in individual setting you can change the suspension to comfort and drive train to sport best of both worlds. Are you sure your driving it in comfort? Cause the ride quality is pretty superb to me but I have the optional mag ride
Your insurance company will love you.........
Still cheaper to insure than a rs3
Don't tell them. Not like they can see it

Besides the ECU remapping, seems that this is your one stop tuning shop for your suspension, brakes, and drivetrain upgrades.
Such a good video, can you do one on putting a stage 3 remap and hybrid turbo in next?
You read our mind 😏

It's the golf r
Golf R had TCU tune also? Or it was low torque ECU map?

Different engines, but similar pace!
I don’t suppose you recorded the 100-200kph times? I’m really interested in getting this map on my golf 8
Thank you for an interesting video! Have you Dragy tested the stock S3?
Glad you enjoyed. No, afraid not. We only tested the Golf R.
@@ParkersTV Fair enough! If you have the opportunity, dragy test the stock S3 8Y, see what results you get in comparison with the stock Golf 8 R 😊
So the question back to you, would you do it if it was your choice to make?
That was a lot of spin with the remap you can do much better numbers in warmer weather
Yes very true. As we mentioned conditions between standard and remapped run weren’t quite identical. Definitely some more performance to be found!

I have a s3 8y do you find the ride harsh? I find it quite harsh even on 18s it has sports suspension but is just about bare able for luxury hot hatch
Yes. Ride certainly firm. Adaptive dampers should improve it.
BMW m135i has a better ride overall - that would be my choice

I remapped my 2 litre diesel at 80k and now at 170k. Not related issues apart from some flywheel rattle
