well yeah except Formentor is a much smaller car with no sound insulation at all. It's flashy but there's not much substance to it. Source: I've driven both. Well equipped Q3 is a better car. I wouldn't buy sportback though which is very comparable in size to Cupra. Both of those are much closer to slightly inflated hatchbacks than SUV.

My family car is a 2024 cupra ateca and when I first got it I was sorely disappointed I very nearly took it back. Had a problem where the steering wasn’t even straight too and they “couldn’t” sort out. Had to take to suspension secrets to have tracking done properly with some other upgrades. Shocks were really bad so they went in the bin, springs were crap so they went in the bin, did sub frame reinforcements same time and now it drives how it SHOULD have done from factory. Annoying to say the least but it’s only a family car, I have others but I came from an X5M for this which was a big mistake. Going back soon not even had it for a year.
I guess that's it. I had Citroen Saxo VTS 16V (118HP) and was driving 1/4 mile races. Stock car was doing 16.0s, but when I put out rear seats and spare wheel (combined about 45 kg), car was doing 15.5 at 1/4 mile. My car was 935 kg stock, so difference was bigger, but anyway, weight means a lot.
@@VR6Boki There are more differences in this case. Driver body weight. Car weight. Transmission gear ratio's. Cupra has less torque. Power-Torque curve. Aerodynamics (cupra is a crossover SUV). All these factors combined can massively change the outcome.
Yes realy they should be putting the extra weight of yanni in matts car , he's a big guy, must be 6' 2" and 18 stone , matt must be at least 35kg lighter
I don't know if it's the same in Germany, but here in Switzerland we can 'modify' the car to have 20% more power without the need for other mods, you just have to announce it to the authorities. And I think that's why ABT mods for the formentor don't go above 370hp. My formentor had 329hp stock instead of the 310, and gearbox and stage 1 engine remap got me 392hp and 502Nm, with the redline being slightly higher in the RPM range and gears shiting a bit more adequately according to peak HP and torque. Holds quite well against b9 rs4 and far outperforms any stock 300-350hp cars out there Pretty fun 'family' car to drive (lowered -35mm)!

Don't know if it was made clear here but this seems to be the first generation Formentor 310 VZ with the ABT sport package, (engine tuning to the claimed 370 hp, Akrapovich exhaust, 20 inch rims, carbon fibre seats, lowered suspesion and a couple more small things I can't recall) but without dsg box upgrade ( which is probably why the S3 was quicker with the new 333 hp version engine and, which as well is fitted now on the 2nd gen Formentor VZ). This is the ABT version offered only in UK (to somehow fill the gap of the VZ5 not been offered in UK) for an extra 15 thousand on top of the 46 thousand tag price of the Formentor, so the 61 thousand. It should have been made clear by Matt that this price of 61 thousand refers to the specific Formentor with the ABT package. Obviously this ABT package is only about a very moderate engine upgrade (costing abt 2500 if purchased alone through a dealer) and more about the Akrapovich (for sound mainly and looks) the carbon fibre seats, the 20 inch black rims (i.o. the 19 inch diamond cut factory) and the lowered suspension by about 1.5 cm (that means springs only which you can also individually purchase for abt 300-400, if not mistaken). The DCC remains factory. Really a package not worth at all the money spent, especially when the dsg box is not tuned, but who am I to say?

Same story with the ABT ‘tuned’ Leon Cupra R ST’s Many owners had the tuning boxes removed and a ‘proper’ ecu tune and the difference is night and day, myself included. ABT tuning boxes are good for probably one pull, then heat soak and temps build up and power is dialled back.

If you're on a phone, you can screenshot the part of the video that has the QR code (make sure the video is at least 1080p or the QR code is unreadable), open the Google Lens or Google app & choose the screenshot. If the app can't detect the QR code, crop the photo first in your phone's photos gallery app. I know this is a hassle for less tech savvy folks. I recommend watching on a PC, laptop or a TV if you want to scan the QR code (on your phone/tablet) or just click the link if you're on your phone or PC/laptop

If you're on a phone, you can screenshot the part of the video that has the QR code (make sure the video is at least 1080p or the QR code is unreadable), open the Google Lens or Google app & choose the screenshot. If the app can't detect the QR code, crop the photo first in your phone's photos gallery app.
I know this is a hassle for less tech savvy folks. I recommend watching on a PC, laptop or a TV if you want to scan the QR code (on your phone/tablet) or just click the link if you're on your phone or PC/laptop

Even a Seat drives better than an Audi these days, when you put them side by side 😂 And they’re 10 times more reliable. Talking as someone who had cars from both brands and was an Audi fanboy at a young age. The world has changed, the only reason we don’t see only Chinese cars on streets is because they are banned through taxes. But look at Korean brands. From cheap alternatives, they are replacing now, models from respected brands, and are doing this all over the world. Those like you who only like a brand because of its name and reputation, are the last hope of these big lazy b*******. They need to work on innovation, not abuse of reputation, if they want to keep up.

I had a formentor the same as that and sometimes especially in the lower gears the change was very unpredictable when giving it the beans.
