I know you say 200Hp is enough but I have a 2023 s3 and 306Hp is so much better. I still get 42mpg on highways (flat not too many hills). 0-62 (100kmh) in 4.4s is super nice...
I always wondered: Are you guys in the US just speeding with such cars or why would you need a lot of hp? I am German, so I think in terms of Autobahn. But if all cars are just allowerd 120km/h or so, why get a quick car? Here you get it, because you want to sometimes drive with 200-300km/h on the Autobahn and reach your destination quicker, but in the US you would probably go to jail for that, or not?
Interesting to hear you say it has less zip than a gti. At least at low speeds (like from a stop sign for example) I found it far more responsive and quick off the line. Test drove a top trim gti and was very underwhelmed. Drove a 2023 a3 the next day and bought it on the spot.
The leaky water pumps are under extended warranty now through VW/Audi (due to the corrosive nature of the Coolant they used against the plastic housing of the factory water pumps). I'm hoping that this generation has since addressed this
Inflation and expensive technology. Mostly the former, I think cars in the 90s, when adjusted for inflation, were actually more expensive than new ones now!
@@Realistick "cars in the 90s, when adjusted for inflation, were actually more expensive than new ones now!" - Perhaps by inflation numbers alone, but I do not believe people's incomes have kept up with inflation. The exterior doesn’t look better than previous gen, but the interior looks amazing. That’s how you integrate the infotainment screen into the dash. I hope more Audis use this design.
@@Realistick Unfortunately yes, cheapest price for European cars is North America, you´re lucky customers there. We must pay for the same cars 20 - 40% more.
I enjoy your videos and have seen several. I am in the middle of my car search and am considering this exact version A3 ( but in Atol Blue) OR a 2023 VW GTI with DSG auto ,S trim ( or40th Anniversary if I can get one) ......I live in NC and just don't need Quattro. FWD is fine. ( I have owned 3 prior Audis with Quattro BTW)......The GTI is more powerful and slightly less expensive ( ~35k) where this A3 looks better inside and out for 39k (ish)......What would you do if you were me?. I am coming out of an 2018 Audi TT Quattro Coupe.
The previous design in my opinion can’t be beat , the only thing I’ll give the new designs is the grille that’s all they have going for them and the new screen but that’s all
Well that seems to be a taste thing, can't argue with that. I personally like the new design more than the old - however the old one has better materials used. You guys in the US are however very lucky with Audi. You pay the same, but even your standard version comes with leather seats. In Germany thats a couple thousand Euros extra.
Idk. Seems like a lot of money to then pay extra to get features. And then remind you if you didn't. One might reason a very well equipped "lower class" car for the same price might be a better purchase. Especially if it makes more than 200hp.
Agreed, from a value stand point, a luxury car will basically never beat a car like the Civic touring or Mazda3 premium plus. However, it's the construction, handling, powertrain refinement and aesthetic that make a luxury car like this attractive. All a matter of what's important to you!
The A3 is better in that regard than all other Audis but yeah, definitely not an easy car for upkeep, wouldn't recommend it to someone expecting normal small car maintenance.
A3. I have the 2023 a3. I went to even buy the A4. But I fell in love with the A3. It’s a little smaller but not tiny. Smooth drive. Beautiful car. The trunk like he said is actually awesome. A lot of room. I for my golf clubs in it and all my outside sales samples. I love Cadillac but my Audi A3 is beautiful. The A4 felt a bit long to me. So I went with A3.
Hi ! GJ for your informative review👍 ! I am looking forward to buying one but with the 1.0 petrol engine 115 hp !! Any info about the reliability and consumption would be helpful ! In one review i even saw 8L/100km inside the city .. I think it's pretty high for a 1.0 car .. What are your thoughts ?
Apples to oranges really, the accord is better for 95 percent of people but if you want something a little more fun to drive with a german personality, A3
Really depends on your priorities, the gti is more fun, practical and a little quicker, the a3 feels much more high quality and is easier to use and live with. It’s also awd! I’d personally go with a manual base gti but if i was getting an auto, id go a3.
if it has lounch control: - put into dynamic (says S1 in the display - make sure it does not say D1) - turn off stability control - step on the break and then the gas - lift the break

@Realistick I wonder why VW Golf gets so many comparisons. They are 2 separate cars and each have their own drivers and enthusiasts. Really refreshing to see some classic interior design unlike bmw and mercdes replacing the whole dash with a widescreen tablet lol.
I always liked the A3 hatchback from a couple generations back, but this one has been growing on me! Keep up the great work on these reviews!

I don’t know why unless they didn’t want it to really overlap with the a4 in price?

Q4 E-tron and other newer models have a fairly similar design.

This or serie 2 coupe?
quatro avg gas consumption is 16 l/100 km which is rubish
I don’t like that for the price. I hate a stiff ride.

Launch control on the base model 1L?
No 1L in the US so I can’t speak for other markets
Not a fan. It looks like a Ford Focus from the outside. Inside is fine.
How do you do the launch control
if it has lounch control:
- put into dynamic (says S1 in the display - make sure it does not say D1)
- turn off stability control
- step on the break and then the gas
- lift the break
More like $48000 for a fully loaded one.
