i play dubious openings in correspondence chess and get away with it as a 2000/2100, I think it matters minimally if you know the lines and ideas well until you're a pretty strong master honestly
So so so many cheat in correspondence. It doesn't seem to be checked for. I really need a well-vetted opponent if I'm going to play correspondence. I've just played too many games where there were engine move after engine move by opponent. I'm not in love with correspondence, though the idea is fantastic. A whole day to think about a move? Sounds great... Untill you play it.
@@kruksog yeah. I think it's almost impossible to find a correspondence player who isn't using an engine at least to some degree at the higher elos like 2300-2500+ on lichess, and there are certainly more cheaters across the board. USCF correspondence is your best shot for correspondence chess with as little engines slipping through as possible. I was using it as an example because if I can make dubious openings work more or less in 2000 rated correspondence that's demonstrative of my point
I've tried the Orthoschnapp and a lot of times my opponent plays 2...c5 and I'm already out of theory. I guess at that point I'm essentially playing some variation of the English? (although lichess calls it "Sicilian Defense: Staunton-Cochrane Variation" either way, it's an opening I never play at all)
6:30 To answer what the spectator asked: 1 e4 e6 2 c4 d5 3 cxd5 exd5 4 Qa4+?! Nc6 5 Bb5 Ne7 6 d3 or 5 exd5 Qxd5 6 Nc3. Looks as if the game has got less hot and White's attack has failed. Unless there's some further trick I've missed.
In that case, white can take the knight for free. If black re-takes the bishop with the pawn, it's M2 once again, as the situation around the king hasn't changed.
How did a 2100 blunder bf7. He thought for 2 minutes to play nf6? I just have no words. Qe7 was only move, a 1000 would spot this.
I was thinking the same thing😂
whats your rating good sir
Nf6 was a bit surprising, but it’s not over after Qe7. No 1000 even sees the Qb4 defence at least no 21 did in my games. Bullet games I admit^^
the infamous Orthoschnapp Gambit, Orthoschrantz variation
Orthoschach. (Since there's a check in it.)
Nehm ich! 😂

I tried this against an 850 earlier in bullet, but it did not go so smoothly. Gonna blame myself on that one haha. Love the new variation, though!
Hmm that’s good to know. 👍🏻 Thanks!

I won with it like 2 days ago thanks :)
I used to go to the St Louis zoo all the time as a kid!

Just tried this on the 2200 Noam Bot and got dissected like a frog. :(
Could you play this in 15+10 game?
what about Nh6
