I wish I was better at modding New Vegas, I really tried to make a decent pack for myself only to have to end it around lvl 14 because the game would just crash when Caesar's Assassins showed up. I switched over to MO2 from Vortex and planning to make a minimalist modpack that's mostly just stability with a few weapon and armor mods to spice things up a bit, my main interest was experiencing power armor in 'Titans of the New West 2.0' because it honestly looks even better then Fallout 4 to me. If I can just get THAT working to a full playthrough I'll probably try out 'Tale of Two Wastelands'
Very good you switched to MO2, stay there. Have you followed Viva New Vegas? It’s the unofficial guide for getting a modded setup running, and walks you thru step by step. Very helpful. They have one for TTW called the best of times. You MUST follow the guides to the letter, and do not add more mods until you complete their steps. I would hold off on TTW until you have a better understanding of modding base NV. Good luck, this community has many resources and helpful people 👍
@@nvRanger No I did not, I just wandered around the nexus looking for stability mods and hoped it was enough, clearly it wasn't. I'll make sure to study that the next time I play New Vegas. Is there one for Fallout 4 as well?
Now I need to see if there is a mod that allows you to check the ammo in your gun. Because that is the only way besides counting to know how much you have left. And one thing I always wondered why no game has it is reloadable magazines. Instead of just having a huge pool that fills whatever fits in your gun, you would have distinct magazines that you have to load, and if you reload, the empty goes back in your inventory. And if you reload halfway through, you'll have a half empty magazine around that you could top up. Or you end up with only half the ammo after a reload. Yes it adds some level of tedium to the game, but not as a mechanic that is just there to be hard, instead it would add some level of realism.
well he's running NV and recording himself with no issues, so i'd say he has a fairly good rig. that being said though, you dont need a Streamer rig to play NV Modded.
If you're someone reading the title and getting excited, you should really curb your expectations. no matter how hard you try, its just not possible to "modernize" FNVs gunplay. Ive tried every mod relating to gunplay, different combinations, and you really will never get anything differing very wildly from FNV's vanilla gunplay. I would really recommend STALKER: Anomaly, and additionally GAMMA, to see what actual modding can achieve in terms of taking a dated game and making it modern, including the gunplay and appearance. Unless you enjoy gameplay looking like this... 6:19 , with bad UI and floating healthbars, and 20 fps.
While I agree it is worthwhile to curb your expectations on what can be accomplished with mods, I disagree that modding cannot provide a vastly different experience. I'm sure Stalker anomoly is really cool and i'll have to check it out some day. I do have fps drops when recording, particularly bad in somoe of this footage.
