Ah yeah! This is happenin'! Glad to be on-board, Mutant Mods! I'm indeed looking forward to getting all of these things working in tip-top shape with the project I handle, as well. September is gonna be one super busy month, heh. Right on, so, first things first! I've notably been on a little vacation the past few months. Tried a few different games and scenes, poked around at some different mods, and thankfully, you've really jumpstarted my jets on getting things back in gear in the Mojave Wasteland and beyond! There's lots of inspiration here, and I'm glad to work with you on it! Second things, I'm so glad someone else knows how much of a hot thing Ethanol and other Biofuels can be. May require adjustments to some fuel systems (those fuels literally run hotter than regular gasoline!), but they are VERY MUCH renewable. And I agree on using them WAY MORE than trying to rely on the Fusion Battery stuff. Batteries are finite, and Biofuel you can make lots more of. Like they say, "Does a Yao Guai (take a dump) in the woods? Yeah? Go on, then, make some fuel from it!" Thirdly, I'm very glad you've looked into Rudy's Autos, and Colin as well, as I've been wondering myself how to get more vendor things going on related to vehicles. The vendor(s) in another older version once maintained by a certain Zom (and passed around later on by a certain Raven) is kinda chump-change even under my management (which, for the record, Zom kindly let me have at managing it after we weren't sure how to handle the Bonus Cars in his builds, which I'm glad you've touched on here as well! I hope Zom's still doin' well, too...). Having lore-friendly ways to get into these cars, though, this is super sweet! Fourthly, I also got heaps of other updates coming along to the ModPack you mentioned as well. There are indeed plans for compatibility with all the things in your selection here, and, if it all comes together proper, a merged version can be done wherever and with whatever possible. Fifth, and most importantly, I'm glad to see the community coming together in this way. Modding and creating stuff for games should be about having fun making new stuff, cleverly improving old stuff, and fostering good community relationships by sharing ideas and helping each other out. We can get goofy with it from time to time, but good community, good ideas and good fun, that's the important thing here. I gotta get to work on a couple of quick "Real World" things first, deadline is early September there, but once I get that sorted, I can get to working on making all of this come together! Thank you, all of you! Let's make this happen! ~VV~

This mod looks incredibly well crafted and thought out. My only contention is the fuel point brought up in 14:40: why not just use energy cells as a fuel source. Fallout 2 and dev blogs confirmed that Energy cells were being rolled into the automobile market(like the highwayman from F2)
I understand not wanting the big file size, that is a valid criticism, but hey, it's not like we actually have to engage with that mod to play this one.
Funnily enough there's a good reason why cars would roam the Mojave in New Vegas. All the strip Casinos and even the one in Freeside run distilleries to make booze. Julie Farkas even tells you to talk to the guys at the Atomic Wrangler to supply the Followers with distilled alcohol for use as an antiseptic. Ethanol (the drinkable alcohol, basically Everclear) is actually a very potent fuel (though still not as energy dense as gasoline or diesel) and is even sometimes added to gasoline. IRL is considered as an alternative fuel. Cars that run on booze also is thematically fitting in a funny way
Not long ago I posted on your first mad max mojave video asking about the old esp and you promised a new version was on the way, and boy did you deliver. Please keep it up man. Hey, MM, are you planning on enabling "tilt" checkbox for friendly cars and gunrunners vans or maybe even revorking the highwayman mod to use your system? Oh, and yeah, great job!
I wish the friendly vehicles weren’t so janky lol, thanks for showing that off in the video before people install that plugin expecting it to work perfectly
Now I've had a look at comments and the mod page, I'm very keen for the standalone version!! I even tried it as it is, but there's the large red triangles of death around places, so i daresay that it's gonna break if I don't wait for the patch. 😅
Honestly, think it would make more sense if the cars ran on Microfusion Cells, as that is what the Highwayman ran on in Fallout 2 (technically it ran on Fusion Cells, but those aren't in New Vegas). It would also give some use to Energy Ammo for builds that don't use Energy Weapons. Oil shortage was a big factor in Fallout Lore, that is why cars ran on nuclear energy. And as for Big Horners, it is said by Easy Pete that they will just lay down if you put a pack on them (not moving until you take the pack off), so I assume the same would be for a person riding them.
@@Mutant_Mods The video was pretty good and explained and the cars was the thing that i was looking for my "true fallout 3" mods list, another video idea could be the mods that restore the majority of the cut content of fallout new vegas cuz it could help to extend and make the game as it was intended, also because i think there is a lot of information of all the content that was cut form new vegas
This is great. One small detail would be to change the fuel from oil based to something else more lore friendly. It could improve gameplay if implemented into the upgrade system. The car could be a hybrid with an electric battery and a liquid fuel. The battery could be a slower fall back if the player runs out of liquid fuel. The fuel could affect the speed of the car as well as its durability (a battery is less explosive than petrol). One option is a battery that could be recharged either by siphoning Electricity from Hoover Dam or Helios and New Vegas or setting up a portable solar panel. Steam could also be used but it would be very slow amd require wood or coal as fuel. Better for heavy vehicles. Another is ethanol or biofuel derrived from alchohol. A smart choice for a raider gang. Its easy to make but not very efficient. Methane from manure could also be used as a liquified gas fuel for a car. Which the NCR would likely use. Petrol and diesel would be the rarest but not impossible to find. Maybe hidden in booby trapped bunkers by prewar hoarders or doomsday preppers. It would be the fuel for the fastest car. Then there's fusion batteries which would be rare but not impossible to find. It would be essentially infinite energy.
@@oscarspokes9045 makes sense, but some people like me alredy have the frontier donwloaded, and i have a mishmash of mods that add cars too (also from that require the frontier)
The community shot itself in the foot with cars. Xilandro probably would have released them but all the bullshit that came with the frontier launch drove him into a mindset where he didnt wanna release it because of the pure vitriol of people. And I dont blame him. People wonder why but look at dedstring, bro released over 700 mods as a standalone download, providing a way to get every essential mod for new vegas without having to deal with the community in any capacity after years of being harrased. When someone pours their heart into something & they get responded to with vitriol & hate by their own community, dont expect them to be so generous anymore. The community didnt deserve Standalone cars after all that in my eyes.
After downloading a 11 gb mod full of mediocre writing and a lot of paraphilias only for install a mod that completly disables it i gotta say that it totally freaking worth it, your mod is amazing❤
Not gonna lie, cars in fallout would be absolutely sick. Realistically, this would be lore accurate. Makeshift roads, paths and trails for all types of cars. Add: Instead of gas, a lot of cars were fusion powered. So for it to be truly accurate you'd need fusion cores or cells to power cars. So you could add a conversion kit with a high enough repair and science from fusion to gas or the other way around. Fusion cars should be harder to get running but cheaper to operate. Gas cars are the other way around, easier to get running, costly to keep operating. You could even go as far as making sure you have oil as a condition script too. Make sure your gas engine is oiled and the fusion engines have enough coolant to keep running. Oil is cheaper, coolant being more expensive but lasting twice as long. There's a lot of ideas you can run wild with to make it realistic, accurate, and balanced. Armour upgrades adds weight and adds fuel consumption with decreasing oil life. Lighter cars with no armour should consume less and be faster.
Great work , i think you should try to add cars to rangers and legion assassins too to balance the game (( so if you're marked for death they would attack you with their high tier cars ))
I know that mod was made would allow you to repair the Highwayman from the reckage can be found. Using Similar options go repair the car when you want to drive it.
The thing with vehicles in the frontier is that the landscape there is not really that great to see them in action, while the Mojave straight up feels like it was made with vehicles in mind
I personally think the enemies cars being jackals/vipers instead of fiends would be more fitting. fiends are from the area. they are HQed in vault 3 and are mostly localized in the vegas area. the jackals and vipers are NOT from here, tho. theyre originally from vault 15, where shading sands and the khans also come from. so theyre probably more nomadic making them more likely to have vehicles.
I saw a mod that adds the horses from oblivion into new vegas. unfortunately it's not very polished which sucks since i wanted to make a RDR inspired mod list hopefully horses will come to the Mojave some day
idk, i feel like it may have been a bit more lore accurate to have the fuel collected to be coolant, and the cars themselves to be nuclear, as most cars that are destructible do so with a nuclear explosion. Most Prewar modern cars were nuclear fueled, the only thing you had to worry about (at least for awhile) was coolant.
By 2070 commercial oil based fuel was virtually non existent. The Chryslus company produced a limited number of Fusion battery cars in 2070 that sold quickly but most of the Chryslus factories were converted into munitions factories. The Highwayman was a non electronic, analogue vehicle that was either converted or already used a Microfusion cell for its fuel. The NCR had 1 vehicle per 200 individuals as of 2241. Avellone states that they flirted with steam powered vehicles being used by the Master's army to transport things between Mariposa and the Cathedral. Thats all for the lore.
Interesting mod, I think I'll try and get the most basic version, I don't think car combat and having lots of cars in general fit with the game, but, having around 3 cars which have insanely high skill requirements sounds much better to me.
Bighorners shouldnt be irrelevant. If theyre anything like Skyrim horses theyd be perfect for negotiating rocky or mountainous terrain. Simply adding the ability to jump if its not there already would suffice. Roving gangs of Bighorner Banditos would be sick as hell too.

I always REALLY enjoy coming back to your channel as often as I can to see the progress of the FNV community and your take on it. BRAVO SIR
Bloody legendary. I been wanting something like this. While I may be burnt out on NV for now (currently doin rdr2 play throughs… guess I have a thing for the lawless west lol.) but I am def gonna use this for when I build my mod build. Cheers, you and all the modders of NV do amazing things!
You get a car in fallout 2 so as far as lore, they're already Canon!
Hell yeah!!!,it feels good when mutant mods upload
Holy crap you implimented this better than I could have ever imagined!!!
I can’t wait to play this mod. It looks really good. Love your work and keep it up
making it incompatible with the standalone cars mod is crazy. was excited about this but im not downloading the frontier for it.
The standalone cars mod is a gutted version, ofc untill someone does a morally unjustifiable and hard work of cutting the frontier of from it's cars there is little hope
Stay tuned, check Mutant Mod's pinned post too. We got big plans, and I'm stickin' to 'em! 🤠🎶

Hell yeah!!! I was legit waiting MONTHS for this!!
Of course this is lore friendly, we had a working car in Fallout 2. This is a mod that exudes passion, good job!!
Truly amazing work.
"The car was jury rigged from the start" DONT THINL I MISSED THAT
There are vehicles in Fallout 2 and Tactics (which IS canon, in case anybody wants to fight about it.)
The kings back with another banger, well done on the mod man
Hell yeah brother. I’ve been waiting for this. I hope you have a good day
I love the art on the thumbnail! Keep it up !
Im excited to see that new rideable horses mod made by the guy who worked on the Frontier cars!
thanks for coming back and remaking this. i was real upset you took it down a while back i had to find it from someone on reddit i didnt care if it totally fucked my game this is the coolest shit ever
Hey, MM, are you planning on enabling "tilt" checkbox for friendly cars and gunrunners vans or maybe even revorking the highwayman mod to use your system?
Oh, and yeah, great job!
This mixed with Mojave Survival is going to be an awesome 732,321st playthrough!! 😊

Great video bro and great work on the mod!
Okay lets talk about that rideable horse at the end... Thats the real highlight of this video.
Fallout new Vegas has had drivable car mods since the 2010s and this was way before the frontier
Yeah, but it all felt like they were floating. No inertia, no friction. Etc...
And they were nowhere near as good.
XRE is hella outdated. It was lit for the time..but yeah.
Those mods are nowehre as smooth as Frontier cars... that mod as weird as it may be was a technical marvel
Dope would also be doper if the NCR drives arround i trucks with troopers patroling and deploying to places
There’s a mod on Nexus that adds that. Janky though.
I missed your videos so much
let me know what you think of this one!
@@Mutant_Mods The video was pretty good and explained and the cars was the thing that i was looking for my "true fallout 3" mods list, another video idea could be the mods that restore the majority of the cut content of fallout new vegas cuz it could help to extend and make the game as it was intended, also because i think there is a lot of information of all the content that was cut form new vegas
this is an awesome mod. all we need is even more vehicles and motorcycles now!
It's like watching the gods return from Olympus.Your videos are the best ❤
Hopefully will look into this mod if it can be done with as little of The Frontier as possible. Still, awesome work!
If you want a lore friendly fuel source you could always power it with magic and paper aeroplanes like with the Prydwyn.
Car... Car never changes
I love how this looks. I just wish the cars used micro fusion cells like in fallout 2.
cars in fallout lore by the end were being mostly powered by fusion, so fusion stuff
All I can say is hope you stay healthy my guy
This looks awesome.
Finally a reason to download the frontier
unfortunately we have to wait for nexus to remove the mod from quarantine to download it
gives you time to download the requirements i guess
@@MadWatcher Id go ahead and blanket most new vegas modders as morally bankrupt people.
Looks great, maybe fiends could have moveable static cars that are not usable in the early game, since you know seeing them occasionaly is logical.
After downloading a 11 gb mod full of mediocre writing and a lot of paraphilias only for install a mod that completly disables it i gotta say that it totally freaking worth it, your mod is amazing❤
Would be kinda cool to see the ncr and legion start bringing vehicles on the eave of the hoover dam battle. Say the last 3 missions within the game
Good to see another amazing draw thumbnail haha
Among the last you’ll see. I have two more, & that’s it. The end of a small era on the channel lol.
Sweet a video on a project of yours
I was waiting for you
Not gonna lie, cars in fallout would be absolutely sick.
Lighter cars with no armour should consume less and be faster.
i always wanted to have those bikes at good springs be driveable, guess ill have to wait
Holy pickles, he makes mods himself now
Hardly a mod, I suck lol.
I think vehicular combat is inevitable in the apocalypse.
wasn't the cars nuclear powered? (tho it makes sense to return to fuel in the context of the game)
Would be cool to change the name from Jerry cans to coolant.
@@KARGAAN no, what they are getting at is those vehicles would be rendered useless by the Electro Magnetic Pulses emitted by nuclear blasts.
Great work , i think you should try to add cars to rangers and legion assassins too to balance the game (( so if you're marked for death they would attack you with their high tier cars ))
They've got power armour, helicopters and space rocket's
Trains too
3 months late but, holy hell this just makes me wish for Fallout: -New- Rally Vegas
I know that mod was made would allow you to repair the Highwayman from the reckage can be found. Using Similar options go repair the car when you want to drive it.
Great video! I love how balanced the cars are with the gameplay!
I'm so glad I found the standalone driveable vehicles a few month ago. I've never downloaded the frontier and I never will.

I saw a mod that adds the horses from oblivion into new vegas. unfortunately it's not very polished which sucks since i wanted to make a RDR inspired mod list
hopefully horses will come to the Mojave some day
There's a WIP by Xilandro, it looks pretty good, better than the horses in Skyrim imo
>waits until very last minute to say u need the frontier
idk, i feel like it may have been a bit more lore accurate to have the fuel collected to be coolant, and the cars themselves to be nuclear, as most cars that are destructible do so with a nuclear explosion. Most Prewar modern cars were nuclear fueled, the only thing you had to worry about (at least for awhile) was coolant.
This is fucking awesome thanks Mutants Mods you made me smile :3
It’s good to know that thank you
Why, that's what i was missing!!!

*This Mod Seamlessly Integrates Drivable Cars Into Fallout NV
*Looks inside
*it just the frontiers cars again
By 2070 commercial oil based fuel was virtually non existent. The Chryslus company produced a limited number of Fusion battery cars in 2070 that sold quickly but most of the Chryslus factories were converted into munitions factories. The Highwayman was a non electronic, analogue vehicle that was either converted or already used a Microfusion cell for its fuel. The NCR had 1 vehicle per 200 individuals as of 2241. Avellone states that they flirted with steam powered vehicles being used by the Master's army to transport things between Mariposa and the Cathedral. Thats all for the lore.
This would be exeptionally cooler if it used fusion cores instead of gas
2:44 gun/animation mod?
Interesting mod, I think I'll try and get the most basic version, I don't think car combat and having lots of cars in general fit with the game, but, having around 3 cars which have insanely high skill requirements sounds much better to me.
Wish we could get this as part of a Wabbajack modlist
Looks incredible!
Would you share with us your load order? Looks like so much fun there!
This turns Fallout New Vegas into Interstate 76.
It would be fantastic if you'd share the modlist you use in fallout nv or whole repack of mods with the game. I could only dream about this...
What is the mod for the brodie helmets the convicts are wearing at 9:26? I've been looking all over for a mod like that.
