Looks like a completely new approach and perspective for flipping samples, for beat juggling and mangling, creative interpolation, and remixing! Could even DJ with two instances of Loopmix! Feeding midi into Loopmix sounds like it could be a cool workflow and play it like an instrument! Or mangle drum loops a la Sector/Egoist/Cthulu but with 6 take lanes 🤯 As soon as they update for audio in, I’m envisioning setting it up as a looper with 6 take lanes Count me in ❤
Brilliant, how everything is perfect and laid out on the shelves, i thought i would have to study for a week ... although subsequent updates will force me to learn something new.
Yes, apart from some quirks it is very well laid out and once you ‘get’ the layout, nice to work with. Multi-out and drag and drop are musts though, and if not added I will be disappointed, as will many others
@@GavinskisTutorials I have a premonition that if this price is fixed, then they will not be able to fulfill even 20% of those requests that they got on forum, i'm sure all this is quite difficult to implement, otherwise the price would be much higher.
Multi-out and drag and drop are not that difficult to implement and as you can see, a lot of people are saying that lack of drag and drop or a better files system integration in AUv3 is killing their flow in working with their own samples in the app, so it is worth it for the dev to put time into it - as for the other stuff people are requesting, I’m not sure.

No you can totally import your own samples. Just click the load tab at the top of the screen. There are then 6 slots on the right, each representing a track. You click on those and your files app will open, and you then navigate to the sample you want to load.
Outstanding tutorial, as always. As an experimental/cinematic artist, I too see a lot of potential. Just starting to dig into this. They need to make it easier to import samples. Otherwise, it’s crazy fun. Thanks!

Looks like you can get a lot of fun and inspiration out of Loopmix if the quite essential features mentioned by you and some in the AB forum are added. Some things seem to be not quite finished yet. Missing file drag&drop and multi out I can not really understand, that slows down the workflow especially for such a kind of app. So let's hope for the best, namely quickly the mentioned improvements. Drag and drop definitely coming. Multi out I think is much less likely - apparently people have been requesting that for ages already for playbeat. So hopefully Audiomodern will step up there, because both of those features are pretty much essential for an app like this to use it to full efficiency and potential
@@GavinskisTutorials I absolutely agree with you! The demands and ultimately the requirements are increasing, that's the way things are. Drag&Drop and multi out are now just as mandatory as AUv3 capability. And of course a preset management which includes own folders, favorites and iCloud sync. All of this should really be standard, period.

Thank you for the great walkthrough. I watched the official Audiomodern one, but I always prefer to hear from external sources like yourself. This is very similar to Accusonus Regroover Pro and Rhythmiq plugins (no longer available). Audiomodern have a much better interface and workflow though. I am very tempted to add this to my Audiomodern set, but winning one would be appreciated too. Thanks again.
Thanks Chris! Official walkthroughs may have a slick delivery, and the presenter tends to know the app back to front, but they also tend to be more lifeless and wooden, yes!
Not sure its my cup of tea musically but looks like fun to play with - great for beats or general sonic meyhem. Hopefully they add add an envelope or crossfade between tracks which would make it more useful for slower ambient type stuff. Great tutorial as usual Gavin!
Yeah - annoying it doesn't have envelopes - just use a transient shaper, as to be honest, I think that would be a big UI overhaul for them to add and although ppl are requesting it, I have a feeling it's unlikely to be added, but hope I'm proved wrong!

The anchor button in the sequencer looks very handy.. Density will definitely make things crazy quickly.. Agree with all your suggested improvements because some of that could also leak into Playbeat which I use quite a bit.. Still patiently waiting for the new + improved Riffer.. Nice! Lots of room to be creative with this app. Still, should I be lucky enough to win, I'd go for IOS Chordjam - that's next on my Audiomodern shopping list.
This is such a cool app. Wonder if it’s possible to link to the other audio modern apps in an update. Make a variety of beat loops in playbeat and open them in loopmix or create melodies in riffer and then open them in loopmix with the scale kept to instantly mash and readjust pitch staying in key. Plus chord jam. Have 6 different chord changes that you could cut between whilst staying within the set scale warping pitch etc. Add envelopes to smooth out the transitions Winner :)
I'll have to watch this in stages, but good to hear you mention that your expectation that it would record was as great as mine, hopefully that'll be rectified at some point! And transient shaping seems another obvious one you mention a lot. I keep thinking about pattern chaining / song mode, but I guess the endless mode and/or using a midi sequencer to trigger the layers would be just as good, maybe better in some ways... I'll likely grab this on iOS to see and then maybe on desktop if it sticks - though it might be another one that more suits the touchscreen than mouse....
Haha, it's not a question of having a daw or not... The devs need to enable that, multi out is not a feature of daws, it's something app devs have to implement themselves on a per app basis!
And of course you can use 6 instances of Loopmix, but that's not multi out 🤷♂️ the whole point of multi out is one instance, several outputs. But yeah, thnx for the reminder, need to ask the devs to add that again

Looks like you can get a lot of fun and inspiration out of Loopmix if the quite essential features mentioned by you and some in the AB forum are added. Some things seem to be not quite finished yet. Missing file drag&drop and multi out I can not really understand, that slows down the workflow especially for such a kind of app. So let's hope for the best, namely quickly the mentioned improvements. Otherwise great app with huge potential, awesome devs at Audiomodern. Thanks for and congrats to the sponsored video! Would love to win a copy of Loopmix.
Drag and drop definitely coming. Multi out I think is much less likely - apparently people have been requesting that for ages already for playbeat. So hopefully Audiomodern will step up there, because both of those features are pretty much essential for an app like this to use it to full efficiency and potential
@@GavinskisTutorials I absolutely agree with you! The demands and ultimately the requirements are increasing, that's the way things are. Drag&Drop and multi out are now just as mandatory as AUv3 capability. And of course a preset management which includes own folders, favorites and iCloud sync. All of this should really be standard, period.

Thank you for the great walkthrough. I watched the official Audiomodern one, but I always prefer to hear from external sources like yourself. This is very similar to Accusonus Regroover Pro and Rhythmiq plugins (no longer available). Audiomodern have a much better interface and workflow though.
I am very tempted to add this to my Audiomodern set, but winning one would be appreciated too.

Not sure its my cup of tea musically but looks like fun to play with - great for beats or general sonic meyhem. Hopefully they add add an envelope or crossfade between tracks which would make it more useful for slower ambient type stuff. Great tutorial as usual Gavin!
Yeah - annoying it doesn't have envelopes - just use a transient shaper, as to be honest, I think that would be a big UI overhaul for them to add and although ppl are requesting it, I have a feeling it's unlikely to be added, but hope I'm proved wrong!

This is such a cool app. Wonder if it’s possible to link to the other audio modern apps in an update. Make a variety of beat loops in playbeat and open them in loopmix or create melodies in riffer and then open them in loopmix with the scale kept to instantly mash and readjust pitch staying in key.
Plus chord jam. Have 6 different chord changes that you could cut between whilst staying within the set scale warping pitch etc.
Add envelopes to smooth out the transitions

I'll have to watch this in stages, but good to hear you mention that your expectation that it would record was as great as mine, hopefully that'll be rectified at some point! And transient shaping seems another obvious one you mention a lot. I keep thinking about pattern chaining / song mode, but I guess the endless mode and/or using a midi sequencer to trigger the layers would be just as good, maybe better in some ways... I'll likely grab this on iOS to see and then maybe on desktop if it sticks - though it might be another one that more suits the touchscreen than mouse....

No but it doesn't have multi out on iOS, which is the focus of my channel haha
Haha, it's not a question of having a daw or not... The devs need to enable that, multi out is not a feature of daws, it's something app devs have to implement themselves on a per app basis!
And of course you can use 6 instances of Loopmix, but that's not multi out 🤷♂️ the whole point of multi out is one instance, several outputs. But yeah, thnx for the reminder, need to ask the devs to add that again
