Wow, thank you so much!! It is so sweet that God put me in your thoughts. I really try not to mention my health problems or struggles. I know many have it much worse. I try not to focus on my problems, as it gets me to start feeling sorry for myself. Chronic pain and health problems are mentally and physically exhausting. A small rechargable vacuum cleaner is handy when using soft pastels. It's really not good stuff to inhale. I keep my surface as upright as possible so the dust drops down to the bottom and I just vacuum up from there. Edit… oh I spoke too soon. You have one.
Thank you so much for the tip, just in case! I've tried it now with the easel, and it is much better. Thanks so much for letting others know it really does help. 💗
I didn't see your two last videos either?! I thought you were too obsessed with fountain pens for now. ;D I can't wait to catch up with your channel, as well! 💗
Opps I did it again! My justification this time is that Plaza Art (a less well known art store with an online presence) has a live virtual workshop with an admission fee in May on urban sketching using QoR watercolors. It comes with a demo kit. The kit comprises of the urban sketch watercolor set (6 half pans), and two full size tubes of watercolor, and some textured surfaces to paint on. The workshop will be posted on their YT channel later on to watch for free, but I don’t do well with watching long watercolor demos, after the event.
How exciting!! Haha, it's funny how we feel we need to justify our purchases, right?!? Oh, I haven't heard of that shop. That sounds amazing, thank you so much for sharing that with me. I'm going to have to check that out. It sounds really fun, enjoy!! I need to check on my Qor palette that was in time out first. Thanks for the reminder! Lol
@@TheGypsyChic1 you’re welcome. A few weeks ago the biggest online retailer in the world had QoR palettes on sale for a great price. I didn’t buy any, was tempted, but no, got to stick to my no buy. Lindsay the Frugal Crafter recently purchased them and showed them in a video, but I still couldn’t justify buying them. Then voila, Plaza Art sent the email on the QoR live demo (to be honest I don’t remember if Lindsay’s video or the email came out first, doesn’t matter). This was my opportunity to buy it. Last year Plaza Art had a live demo with Pan Pastels. Up until that point I didn’t own any Pan Pastels so it was a great chance to attend the online event and try out Pan Pastels. Other than the livestream demos and obtaining the Pan Pastels and now the QoR watercolors, I haven’t bought anything from Plaza Art. From what I’ve seen Blick, Jerry’s, Jackson’s, and the largest online retailer have a larger selection of products and generally better prices.
Thanks for sharing! I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way. I think they are great for crafters and beginners. They are fun, but I agree it's a wiser decision to purchase brands you can buy open stock.

Fun haul and nice art. Regarding the new PR watercolors I’m not sure good paints can be improved upon! Somebody mentioned on a different YT art channel that these new PR half pans look like Schmincke half pans ie a little shallow compared to standard half pans. To my eyes they did look a little shallow. May be that’s what they mean by fifth generation, you get less paint! 🫣🤣
Thank you, Shadow!! You might be right, they are pretty good value for those who don't want to wait for a really good sale. Haha, I think that is reaching...they aren't Schmincke. Lol. Or any other artist grade honestly. They are perfect for beginners etc. They might have been a bit more shallow than the previous sets. I can't actually remember as I filmed this awhile back. Hahaha!! I still prefer the fourth generation and I wish they put those in half pans. 💗

I have a small collection of Sennelier soft pastels, small collection of Pan Pastels, and 12 tin set of Faber Castell Pitt pastels, and the Sennelier starter pack of oil pastels. Currently I don’t want to try oil painting, acrylic paints, or gouache, thank goodness! 😅
