@@bertiewood9323 I was specifically talking about the scene in which Rose and 10 are both touching the wall after Pete transports Rose to his world. I don't think I was clear enough.
Oh. Well I'd personally disagree, being one of those people who thinks the Doctor should always be portrayed as A-sexual, I think the saddest moment has to be Survival part 4, but I understamd your perspective.
Through tennants 4 year run as the tenth time lord he loved saying “Allons-y” (Alonsie) which translates to “let’s go” before every adventure. But when his run had finally come to an end and he began regenerating, his final words were “I don’t want to go” that’s some powerful shit and a real honourable way to commemorate all he has done. He is the greatest of all time Lords, a good actor and a great man. The tenth had killed and saved more than any dr in existence, wiped species out of history, broken time and fought Satan himself. The journey of a time lord is a long and lonely one, only the people you meet on the way help walk the path. Tennant embraces that perfectly, he never needed an anchor support character like Amy and Rory, he will be forever be remembered as the greatest of all time. If you cannot see that there is no hope for you.
It would move to get the fool bag off it's head. Actually, I think the series is inconsistent. My impression in the first show was that the WA would turn to stone any time it's observed (never mind the physics of what 'observed' actually means) regardless of whether the WA even knows its happening. When Clara was pretending not to be blind, though, it was more a matter of whether the WA *thought* it was being observed - so I guess it was an instinct?
What do you think considering animals? Could a pigeon, snail or fish keep it from moving? Or insects? Do all living creatures have time energy therefore making them potential targets?
@ZlothZloth - Weeping angels are sentient aliens. So they do know if ur looking at them. That's why The Doctor had AMY act like she could see. I don't recall what ep it was, it might have been during 9's season, but I swear I remember something about WA being banished Time Lords. Anybody know???
I dont think it make the angel either be always moving or never moving, it would probably move the bag off its head - or kill you as you try to put it on. And angels only move if you are not looking at them. So it would either not move untill it was sure that nobody was around or at one point it would move and not realise that there were people around and people would see and angel move for the first time. The viewers of the show will have already seen and angel move in eleven's third episode, but I dont needto get into that right now...
Thinking about it makes me weep. It came out a week after my grandpa died and was during the episode that my dad finally cried. Very good episode and very sad.
What the commentary misses about the sadness in No. 1 is what happens next which the clip didn’t show: River Song maintains eye contact with the Weeping Angel so it can’t hurt the Doctor. She just watched both of her parents unexpectedly die before her eyes, but instead of being able to grieve herself, she finds the strength to protect her husband and allow him to mourn his companions. I find that moment even more heartbreaking than the actual loss of Rory and Amy.
One scene that's never mentioned in these lists that always gets me is in 'New Earth', when Ten and Rose take Cassandra (in Chip's body) to see her younger self before she finally accepts that her death is inevitable. The dialogue where she tells herself that she looks beautiful never fails to make me well up.
My top 10 in all Who are: 10) Susan's Departure 9) Tegan's Departure 8) The Master's Death (Last of the Time Lords) 7) Adric's Death 6) Wilf: I don't want you to die (End of Time) 5) Donna's Departure 4) Davros: How many people have died in your name (Journey's End) 3) River's Death 2) Amy and Rory's Departure 1) Rose's Departure (Doomsday, the wall, not the beach) 3
Wilf, my heart breaks slightly every time he defends the Doctor or praises him. I only wish the Doctor actually allowed him to step into the TARDIS and had a quick adventure. I hope they had one off camera.
Rivers death chokes me up every time when you watch the rest of the episodes then rewatch that one when she dies and he doesn't know who she is when she dies and she loves him with all heart(s) , she's a part time lord and so it shows he's not alone but he doesn't realise it.... saddest moment of all for me. I cry every time and I've never cried in any other TV programme or movie but this one scene once you've realised simple things like they shared a cot and Trenzalore and it chokes me up so much...
In my opinion another sad moment is when River sacrificed herself in the library. But I agree with the list. If you can you should make a list just for Classic Who!
Donna should have been number one. Very happy with most of the choices here and mostly with their order (personally Rose was never sad for me, not just because I was never a fan of her, but that horrible attempt at creating a Norwegian location name had me laughing so hard it took away any potential other emotions, lol - but I respect that it's a high up one for many others), but Donna was always the saddest, because she lost more than the Doctor, she lost herself, the person she had grown to be, every achievement, every development. And THAT is why it is the saddest of them all.
The fact that she begs him not to take her memories, proving she'd rather die than go back to her old self, is what makes that scene so heartbreaking, totally agree with you
The Donna Noble memory wipe destroyed me and I personally resented 10th for wiping her memories. Yes he was saving her life but I think he was being selfish and not allowing Donna dying as the person who she become rather living the person she loathed.
Agreed!! Donna losing her memory is the most heartbreaking moment of doctor who to me, even years later! She was the most important woman in the world, for a beautiful, shining moment. She loses the doctor She loses the incredible person she becomes. Never to remember. Always to forget. She was his best friend 😭
@GorgonaBalistica - 5months ago I would have agreed with you no question. Unfortunately, my last great bastion of Sci-Fi hope has fallen into the trap of political correctness gone amok. I have not found any of those same qualities of greatness, dramatic tension or even a sense of "who" this incarnation of the Doctor is. Up to this regeneration though I am totally with you. My emotions have never risen so high or fallen so far with a series like they have with Doctor Who!
Where was “the mummy’s” death on the orient express? It was one of the most emotional scenes for me as the mummy was a dead soldier in a forgotten war, he was set up to be a killing machine and was probably very relived when the doctor said all those things before he disintegrated-this was shown when he saluted the Doctor to show his gratitude towards him.
Maybe not number one, but that one hit me hard. Probably harder than Clara's death did. (Quite frankly, I feel like Clara's run as companion went on too long, and they wasted all the perfectly good chances to drop her. Hell, her goodbye to the doctor at the end of Series 8 hit me harder than her actual death, and neither of them were dead that time.)
well i thought there would be more classic on the list but i guess they cant be assed to watch them so really these arent the sadest moments is doctor who there the sadest moments in nuwho
A very underrated moment was Matt Smith's doctor and Amy's second episode together. The beast below. And when she saved the star whale, something about that episode always gets to me.
I'm sorry, but how is 10's regeneration only a damn honourable mention!? Literally 20 minutes if his final episode had me in tears as he said goodbye to all of his friends and the bit with the lottery ticket at Donna's wedding broke me. Let alone the "I don't want to go" line...
In my opinion, "Clara Faces the Raven" must've been on the 1st place. I cry every time I see her death. It is the saddest moment :( I liked her a lot and I miss her very much... She was the best companion Anyway, she must've been higher than 7th place
ok that probobly the only sad moment in nuwho im disapointed we didnt get adrics or saras death i mean adrics in a spaceship pummiting to earth with no way out and sara is aged to death on screen
There are 3 scenes that are the saddest moments in doctor who 3.Van Goh realizes he’s not a failure 2.10 doesn’t want to go 1.Donnas fake husband doesn’t get to say goodbye, not the one from her intro, the one in the library, that part makes me cry every fucking time
NOPE WRONG NUMBER 1, HOW IS TEN LEAVING NOT FIRST?! FUMING! My top 3 are: 1. When David Tennant left, I’ll never be over it “I don’t want to go” kills me 😭 2. Rose leaving, still can’t watch without crying 3. Every other sad moment from the 10th and 9th Doctor But Clara’s death really got me too, damn that was sad.
realy realy i guess you havent watched the classics i mean just look at some of the companion and doctor exits the 3rd doctor regenerateing is sad and adrics death is sadder then katarinas and saras are sadder than ever i mean thrown out an air lock and aged to death on screen those are sad moments
so you like the taste of shit come on girl all the "best episodes" of ten are ever audio or stolen from the books like human nature is a 7th and benny story
While it was also horrific, one of my favorite sad Doctor Who moments was the revelation of Bill Potts having been converted into a Cyberman. I will never forget the first time hearing the Cyberman say "Accessing...Bill Potts. Locating... Bill Potts. I am...Bill Potts." And to add suspense, the teaming up of two Masters, followed by the audience realizing the Cybermen knew who she was, told The Doctor that she waited, and a tear flowing through the mask.
Wasn't Bill the very first Cyberman to ever be created? If so, that's a brilliant callback to William Hartnell's era and perfectly sets up the First Doctor's return in the Season 10 finale. I know people had problems with the First Doctor being written as a sexist old codger but David Bradley was brilliant in the role. He's the only man aside from Hartnell himself who's worthy of playing the First Doctor as far as I'm concerned.
I feel bad for the Doctor when he said goodbye to Rose for the last time... he didn’t get to say “I love you,” and worst of all, he had to watch his other self kiss Rose because he knew he could never have something like that. Even if it was still the Doctor, it wasn’t the _real_ Doctor, the one with two hearts and the ability to regenerate. It kills me every time 😪
Clara's departure was heartbreaking for me. Both times. Her death in Face the Raven was devastating, then her survival in Hell Bent made me happy, then I was outright ugly crying because although she was alive, she was gone, possibly forever and the Doctor couldn't even remember her, which becomes more upsetting when you remember that's the one thing Clara's echoes consistently asked him to do. Clara's cameo in Twice Upon a Time made me smile and her last line really cemented how important memory is for her character as she joked that it was "offensive" that the Doctor had forgotten her AGAIN.
Personally, I'd say the saddest moment was the ending to the End of Time when Tennant said goodbye to everybody that played a key part to that incarnation of the Doctor, and then there's the gut wrenching regeneration scene But I could also argue the saddest moment was having to sit through series 5-7, brings a tear to my eye cause it couldn't end sooner
RIVER: Oh, it's a sonic screwdriver! How lovely! DOCTOR: When I saw the sonic trowel, I thought it was just embarrassing, but, look. RIVER: Oh, thank you. DOCTOR: You look, er, amazing. RIVER: Doctor, you have no idea whether I look amazing or not. DOCTOR: Well, you've moved your hair about, haven't you? RIVER: Well done. It's very sweet of you to try. DOCTOR: So what do you think? The Singing Towers. RIVER: Oh. The music. Listen to it. Are you crying? DOCTOR: No. Just the wind. RIVER: Nothing's ever just the wind. DOCTOR: No? It blows through the cave system and harmonises with the crystal layer. RIVER: Why are you sad? DOCTOR: Why are you sad? RIVER: I told you, my diary's nearly full. I worry. DOCTOR: Please don't. RIVER: There are stories about us, you know. DOCTOR: Oh, I dread to think. RIVER: I look them up sometimes. DOCTOR: You really shouldn't do that. RIVER: Some of them suggest that the very last night we spend together is at the Singing Towers of Darillium. That wouldn't be true, would it? DOCTOR: Spoilers. RIVER: Oh. Well, that would explain why you kept cancelling coming here. Do you remember that time- DOCTOR: River, stop. RIVER: When there were two of you- DOCTOR: Don't. RIVER: Because I want you to know that if this is the last night, I expect you to find a way round it. DOCTOR: Not everything can be avoided. Not forever. RIVER: But you're you. There's always a loophole. You wait until the last minute and then you spring it on me. DOCTOR: Every night is the last night for something. Every Christmas is the last Christmas RIVER: But you will. You'll wait until I've given up hope. All will be lost, and you'll do that smug little smile and then you'll save the day. You always do. DOCTOR: No, I don't. Not always. Times end, River, because they have to. Because there's no such thing as happy ever after. It's just a lie we tell ourselves because the truth is so hard. RIVER: No, Doctor, you're wrong. Happy ever after doesn't mean forever. It just means time. A little time. But that's not the sort of thing you could ever understand, is it? DOCTOR: Mmm. What do you think of the towers? RIVER: I love them. DOCTOR: Then why are you ignoring them? RIVER: They're ignoring me. But then you can't expect a monolith to love you back. DOCTOR: No, you can't. They've been there for millions of years, through storms and floods and wars and time. Nobody really understands where the music comes from. It's probably something to do with the precise positions, the distance between both towers. Even the locals aren't sure. All anyone will ever tell you is that when the wind stands fair and the night is perfect, when you least expect it but always when you need it the most there is a song. RIVER: So, assuming tonight is all we have left. DOCTOR: I didn't say that. RIVER: How long is a night on Darillium? DOCTOR: Twenty four years. RIVER: (nearly laughing and crying at the same time) I hate you. DOCTOR: No, you don't. *Please note this transcript is not mine, I am simply sharing it with you. All of these transcripts are the property of BBC*
The Husbands of River Song was my last full episode of Doctor Who. I've seen clips from Season 10 but Peter Capaldi in Season 8 really seemed to be trying to turn me against the program, so I only stuck around for Clara's sake. Capaldi managed to salvage the Doctor in Season 9 - even I can admit that his anti-war speech in The Zygon Inversion was brilliant and Heaven Sent is a masterpiece, even though I personally prefer Hell Bent - but because he leaned so far towards the Valeyard in Season 8 (they should have brought back Michael Jayston and had him ally with Missy in that series), it took him longer than any actor before him. Even Colin Baker sold me on his Doctor because his sociopathic moments were balanced out by his insane fashion sense and eccentric demeanour which reminded me that this is an alien. Peter Capaldi played the Doctor like he would play any human character and because of that, he just came across as an ordinary sociopath in Season 8. The man just isn't as good an actor as people make him out to be. He's one of those slow burn actors who needs a long time to settle into a role instead of hitting the ground running right off the bat.
The person writing this list sucks,Adric Dies, the doctor leaves Susan, the forth doctor regenerates, the doctor saves peri, virtually anything with Aces character development or the master dying from new who
The Vincent Scene is the saddest. Its the only one that makes me cry. I know people who don't even watch Doctor Who, and that scene makes them sad. Possibly because we know he was a real actual person, who sufferred mental trauma, but never knew the delight he would bring to the world. Just so incredibly sad.
This missed out so many of the saddest moments, like when the master died and the doctor didn't want to be alone. Also ten's regeneration is for me by far the saddest
Trek001 Bruh number one should've been number 10 Clara's death shouldn't of even been there number one should've been 10th Doctor saying he doesn't wanna go that was sad af
What the heck is wrong with this list? Why is David's "i don't wanna go" not Number 1? and it's just "an honorable mention?" WHaT? To this day that line makes me cry... ugg. I don't understand.
Yeah, I agree with Luke. It went on WAY too long, and he spent so much time whining about it, I was ready to kick start him into regeneration myself. It was out of character and just...ergh. Ten was a great Doctor, but that whole episode kind of marred his legacy because RTD was trying too hard to wring out the drama.
I don't think anyone has said Tennant is overrated. I think the "anti-Ten Farewell group" consensus is that episode was written badly. RTD dragged it out made Ten whiny.
Nah, cause Classic Who probably isn't popular enough or they haven't watched it. Shame, they (and anyone else who hasn't watched the Classics) are missing out on a ton of good stuff. Exactly the title says top 10 saddest doctor who moments NOT just new who and not just classic doctor who in general and classic has way better sad moments imo
There's just so many heartbreaking moments that bring me to tears. It's hard to choose from so many. 1) 10s regeneration (Inc. his 'reward' speech and visiting his past companions) 2) 11s regeneration 3) Madame de Pompadour's letter 4) Vincent's art and legacy 5) Donna 'dies' (memories wiped) 6) Amy's death 7) Clara's death 8) The Master refuses to regenerate 9) Astrid's sacrifice 10) Jenny's 'death' **My honourable mentions are: 1) The death of the hostess in Midnight. (Not just because she saved the Doctor and the others on the bus, but also that no one ever knew her name) 2) 11s phone call to Clara in Deep Breath 3) Sally saying she'll stay with Billy til his death in Blink 4) The life of John Smith in The Family of Blood 5) River's death in Forest of the Dead 6) The destruction of Pompeii in The Fires of Pompeii. (Its just hearing the terrifying death screams of the 20,000 citizens) 7) The Face of Boe's death in Gridlock 8) 10s talk to Jackson about his past companions breaking his heart in The Next Doctor 9) Victorian Clara's death 10) Baby Melody is revealed to be a ganger in A Good Man Goes to War. (Its Amy's reaction when she screams for Rory. It always hits me)
not realy that sad i have seen worse like in the classic series theres a woman named sara who just wanred to stop the daleks this leads to her death being aged to death on screen i mean thats sadder than anything on nuwho
Bro, Rory and Amy’s goodbye was too much for me. The fact that they survived, and then died straight after made it worse. I was actually told about them dying but when they survived, I assumed it was a joke so I didn’t think much of it. Rory’s death was so sudden it took me by surprise and Jesus did I cry
Doctor Who is really the best show in existence. The fact that all the episodes mentioned in this video actually exist is testament to the strength of the Classic Era of the show, back when Doctor Who was darker, grittier, more violent, had higher stakes for the doctor and companions, included more explicit political and social commentary but never supressed its charm and humour. Because of these elements I really can't seem to understand why something like Adric's death or Sarah Jane Smith's or Tegan's departure or even the end of The Happiness Patrol (one of the most touching endings in Doctor Who topped only by Vincent and the Doctor) aren't even mentioned in passing or as an honourable mention in this list.
Cecil Talli doesn't necessarily mean her exit would be the best though. She may be one of the most popular companions but others may have had a more impactful exit such as Sarah-Jane or Tegan
@@ceciltalli5487 you clearly have never seen/heard classic era! There is one scene for one of the lost stories that had me a sobbing mess just listening to it, if I had to watch it I dont know what I'd do!
What about Wilfred? This list should have been packed with Wilfred moments; there’s a gut-wrenching heartbreakingly sad point in almost every episode he’s in
The Van Gogh scene could go either way, it could be seen as heartwarming or sad that the real Van Gogh won't ever get to experience it. But one thing is for sure, it certainly made me tear up the most.
Ten's rengeneration and build up to that was the most emotional moment through out all of new who. The fact that the doctor looks back on all of his companions that he could and were meaningful combined with the vale and vale decem soundtracks was just beauty and heart wrenching. Ten left seeing all his companions at some sort of happy point or smile. From the point of wilfreds knock till the regeneration is a roller coaster of emotions without question.
Personally, one of my favourite sad scenes from this show is when they're forced to leave the future Amy behind in 'The Girl Who Waited'. It shows how the doctor is often forced to make seemingly impossible decisions as well as plucking your heart strings as they're forced to leave a version of Amy, who has suffered for so long, behind right after she has regained hope and her trust in the doctor.
Never trust a hug should have been on the list itself. Clara death shouldn't have even broke the top 15 as she was being reckless for the entirety of that season. Matt Smith regeneration not even in it is an insult as him seeing Amelia one last time was soul crushing.
That number 1 pick made me cry. That was such an emotional scene, especially when Amy went, because she's one of my favourite characters. My sister made a joke that the Weeping Angel actually sent Amy halfway across the universe, and she became Nebula, after we both found out that Karen Gillan played Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy.
I actually wrote a fan fiction from the perspective of the Angel because I was wondering "Why would it send her back to the same time as Rory"? My view is that the Angel actually felt guilty and, being one of the "only psychopaths in the universe who kill you nicely", it decided to be kind and send Amy back to the same time as her husband. Since the Angels can zap people back to any point in time of their choosing, it didn't have to do her a solid like that.
I normally don't view regeneration as something sad. Even if it's a particularly favorite Doctor that's leaving, I'm more excited to see what's coming next with the new Doctor. I can't really explain why I cried at Eleven's though, I wasn't devastated to see him go, but the way the regeneration scene turned out really hit me in the feels.
Dalek Sram I wasn't really all that invested in Clara and I wasn't really affected by that moment because I assumed she would just come back to life. The regenerations of 9 and 10 were much more sad for me.
Ten's goodbye is in honorable mentions? And Eleven's regeneration isn't included? You're kidding me.
Yes!! Eleven's regenerations made me feel so sad and happy at the same time!!!!!

I sure would love to find out! Those things truly freak me out more than Daleks because they're silent & sneaky.
The viewers of the show will have already seen and angel move in eleven's third episode, but I dont needto get into that right now...
where was the Chris Eccleston Episode Father's day? In my opinion that was the saddest of the lot.
I know, I can't watch that episode without bawling or being spooked (The Reapers give me the heebie jeebies)
Thinking about it makes me weep. It came out a week after my grandpa died and was during the episode that my dad finally cried. Very good episode and very sad.
@@klcpesan gees was there a plague?
@@Alectron8 a plague? What? I'm saying its during this episode that my dad first cried after losing his father... because of the storyline
@@klcpesan oh I misread. I thought it's said "my dad finally died"
"Raggedy man, goodbye"
No matter how often I've watched this scene, I'm still crying when I watch it
One scene that's never mentioned in these lists that always gets me is in 'New Earth', when Ten and Rose take Cassandra (in Chip's body) to see her younger self before she finally accepts that her death is inevitable. The dialogue where she tells herself that she looks beautiful never fails to make me well up.
that was a good one
top 10 doctor who music tracks
My top 10 in all Who are:
10) Susan's Departure
9) Tegan's Departure
8) The Master's Death (Last of the Time Lords)
7) Adric's Death
6) Wilf: I don't want you to die (End of Time)
5) Donna's Departure
4) Davros: How many people have died in your name (Journey's End)
3) River's Death
2) Amy and Rory's Departure
1) Rose's Departure (Doomsday, the wall, not the beach)
3
The Three Railway Engines me too, except I'd move Donna's up one spot
Wilf, my heart breaks slightly every time he defends the Doctor or praises him. I only wish the Doctor actually allowed him to step into the TARDIS and had a quick adventure. I hope they had one off camera.
the 5-1 aint that sad 10-6 are sad
Wait,river is dead
Oh,spoiler
Rivers death chokes me up every time when you watch the rest of the episodes then rewatch that one when she dies and he doesn't know who she is when she dies and she loves him with all heart(s) , she's a part time lord and so it shows he's not alone but he doesn't realise it.... saddest moment of all for me. I cry every time and I've never cried in any other TV programme or movie but this one scene once you've realised simple things like they shared a cot and Trenzalore and it chokes me up so much...
The Face of Boe's death was very sad, I cry every time when I watch that episode and his last words, "You are not alone"
Or maybe the moment when we discover who he really is...
Still my favourite show of all time
He will knock four times 😢😢😢 better be number 1
Sad reacts only
End of Time and Angels Take Manhattan made me cry the most.
no adric death or katarinas death or saras death should be the saddest
Twiggymaster666 k
Twiggymaster666 not as sad as the actual #1.
Roses dad dying in Fathers day was pretty sad.
In my opinion another sad moment is when River sacrificed herself in the library. But I agree with the list. If you can you should make a list just for Classic Who!
Bli The Kid the worst. I can barely watch that episode now.
nuwho is just bad at makeing sad moments classic is way better cause it doesnt use stupid msic to cram the emotion down your throat
@@thewhovianwithasmallcollec7319 Agree
She was his best friend 😭
mkitten13 I could not agree more. That scene and 10s regeneration are the ones that make me absolutely bawl every single time.
EXACTLY
Doctor who is the best tv show of all time
are was talking classic or new series classic > new series tbh
Raggedyman good bye!! I miss Amy and Rory
for god sake amy tried to rape the doctor and you miss that crazy woman
Syeda Fathima same 😭
the whovian with a small collection do you even like doctor who
Not The Girl Who Waited? I really thought that was going to be #1!
I thought that would rank as well, one of the best and most gutting episodes ever.
Such an underrated episode!
Glad I am not the only one who thought this.
well i thought there would be more classic on the list but i guess they cant be assed to watch them so really these arent the sadest moments is doctor who there the sadest moments in nuwho
It is the saddest moment :(
I liked her a lot and I miss her very much... She was the best companion
Anyway, she must've been higher than 7th place
I miss Amy and Rory!😭
JamesJimmyMac Thank you!
i miss adric who didnt even get to say good bye and ps he was child and died fighting the cybermen

We all do
Disappointed I didn’t see Astrid Peth! Makes me cry every time
Katori Files « You’re not falling Astrid, you’re flying » God, that moment makes me cry all the time 😫
ok that probobly the only sad moment in nuwho im disapointed we didnt get adrics or saras death i mean adrics in a spaceship pummiting to earth with no way out and sara is aged to death on screen
Oh, I just saw that episode recently! That's definitely an honorable mention for sure, it gets me right here ❤
11's goodbye when he sees Amy walking down the stairs and she says "raggedy man, goodnight" is pretty sad
Rivers sacrife and the wedding were so sad too but Donna gets me every time 😢😢😢
There are 3 scenes that are the saddest moments in doctor who
3.Van Goh realizes he’s not a failure
2.10 doesn’t want to go
1.Donnas fake husband doesn’t get to say goodbye, not the one from her intro, the one in the library, that part makes me cry every fucking time
10th's regeneration should have been number 1...
Tasha Godrich yes that was one of the only scenes that actually made me cry 😂
Ten is overrated.
ten is the best hands down
People tend to like him more as they were younger when his run was on and they are blinded by nostalgia
Nahh his regen was epic not sad
I'm sorry but number 10 departure is only an Honorable mention ... common, it's at least top 3 if not top 1
NOPE WRONG NUMBER 1, HOW IS TEN LEAVING NOT FIRST?! FUMING!
My top 3 are:
1. When David Tennant left, I’ll never be over it “I don’t want to go” kills me 😭
2. Rose leaving, still can’t watch without crying
3. Every other sad moment from the 10th and 9th Doctor
But Clara’s death really got me too, damn that was sad.
realy realy i guess you havent watched the classics i mean just look at some of the companion and doctor exits the 3rd doctor regenerateing is sad and adrics death is sadder then katarinas and saras are sadder than ever i mean thrown out an air lock and aged to death on screen those are sad moments
Rihanna And Little Mix how the hell do you like Ten?
Review This! Easily and because I have taste.
so you like the taste of shit come on girl all the "best episodes" of ten are ever audio or stolen from the books like human nature is a 7th and benny story
the whovian with a small collection girl have you heard of an opinion? Ffs, srsly.
Clara’s death made me bawl my eyes out 😭 When she returned just before 12 regenerated I cried even more :(
SO WRONG! THE 10th DOCTOR’S REGENERATION IS THE SADDEST MOMENT, “I don’t want to go” easily beats Rory and Amy I didn’t even cry when they left!
Fandom Central exactly !
Easily. I would have been happy with either that or Doomsday being number 1.
Easy easy😯
Fandom Central nope. Tennant was over dramatic
Review This! Well thank god most of the fandom disagree with your opinion, and have actual taste.
It kills me every time 😪
Van Gogh should've been number 1.
Robert Brookes Every single time I watch that scene I'm crying and I'm not even kidding
The only time I bawled on this show. 😢
It got me too 😭😭
Robert Brookes that episode mode me cry. Like I distinctly remember actual tears rolling down my face
EXACTLY. Ugh knowing his life story and watching this just breaks me.
Donna having her memory wiped is the saddest moment in all of TV history
No.1 Should be when you realise that we've made it to London 1965 and we won't hear Ian say that line again on the Twitch chat after Monday.
Your telling me that the phone call to Clara is sadder than 11s actual regeneration???
Worst is when David says in journeys end that on the beach he only said "Rose Tailor" nothing else that was harsh asf
Tyler*
Clara's departure was heartbreaking for me. Both times. Her death in Face the Raven was devastating, then her survival in Hell Bent made me happy, then I was outright ugly crying because although she was alive, she was gone, possibly forever and the Doctor couldn't even remember her, which becomes more upsetting when you remember that's the one thing Clara's echoes consistently asked him to do. Clara's cameo in Twice Upon a Time made me smile and her last line really cemented how important memory is for her character as she joked that it was "offensive" that the Doctor had forgotten her AGAIN.
Jenny's death definitely deserved a spot. So did the 10th Doctor's farewell from when Wilfred knocks four times.
10s regeneration is the closest I've ever been to crying over a TV series or movie
Personally, I'd say the saddest moment was the ending to the End of Time when Tennant said goodbye to everybody that played a key part to that incarnation of the Doctor, and then there's the gut wrenching regeneration scene
But I could also argue the saddest moment was having to sit through series 5-7, brings a tear to my eye cause it couldn't end sooner
tennent wasnt good he had a bad exit i mean he deserved better the 3rd doctor had a sadder regen
"I hate you." " No, you don't" is my new "I love you." " I know."
Do you remember that time-
DOCTOR: River, stop.
RIVER: When there were two of you-
DOCTOR: Don't.
Every Christmas is the last Christmas
RIVER: But you will.
When you think about it, Ten did kind of save her at the last moment.
Tenth's Regen was definitely number one
The person writing this list sucks,Adric Dies, the doctor leaves Susan, the forth doctor regenerates, the doctor saves peri, virtually anything with Aces character development or the master dying from new who
Yes, they didn't show any Classic Who!
Hard access to clips watchmojo has no idea what there doing etc.
Did u guys miss the beginning of the video when they said that they were starting with 2005
The Vincent Scene is the saddest.
You cannot ever convince me Amy and Rory was sadder than Rose or Donna. No way in fucking HELL

That one didn't get me as much as Amy/Rory leaving

What the heck is wrong with this list? Why is David's "i don't wanna go" not Number 1? and it's just "an honorable mention?" WHaT? To this day that line makes me cry... ugg. I don't understand.
Because half the fandom hates it.
Because it sucked and dragged too long not to mention 10 is overrated asf
Yeah, I agree with Luke. It went on WAY too long, and he spent so much time whining about it, I was ready to kick start him into regeneration myself. It was out of character and just...ergh. Ten was a great Doctor, but that whole episode kind of marred his legacy because RTD was trying too hard to wring out the drama.
It dragged, the ending of Survival was more sad than half of these
I don't think anyone has said Tennant is overrated. I think the "anti-Ten Farewell group" consensus is that episode was written badly. RTD dragged it out made Ten whiny.
Absolutely criminal to not have tens regeneration in the list

6) Amy's death
7) Clara's death
8) The Master refuses to regenerate
9) Astrid's sacrifice
10) Jenny's 'death'

1) The death of the hostess in Midnight. (Not just because she saved the Doctor and the others on the bus, but also that no one ever knew her name)

3) Sally saying she'll stay with Billy til his death in Blink
4) The life of John Smith in The Family of Blood
5) River's death in Forest of the Dead
6) The destruction of Pompeii in The Fires of Pompeii. (Its just hearing the terrifying death screams of the 20,000 citizens)
7) The Face of Boe's death in Gridlock
8) 10s talk to Jackson about his past companions breaking his heart in The Next Doctor
9) Victorian Clara's death
10) Baby Melody is revealed to be a ganger in A Good Man Goes to War. (Its Amy's reaction when she screams for Rory. It always hits me)

I think it's not sad but really disturbing.
Ngl the 10th and 11th doctors where the most problematic legit all the episodes were so sad
Amy and Rory's Exit WAS NOT sadder than Rose's or Ten's Regeneration.
Or Donna's exit. How come you put Rose's exit as the saddest Doctor Who exit in another video, but Amy and Rory are higher here?
could mix old and new!☺
I hate Rose, so glad it's not number 1
Yes it was, Amy and Rory's deaths are waaaay sadder than rose or 10
Manus ORourke it's all about opinions and these guys are making a video but their picks not the general ones
There are just too many sad moments in Doctor Who that has clutched our feels and choked it to death over and over again to be put on a top 10 list.
Would love to see you do a top 10 companion exit video, including both the classic series and the reboot
I think the saddest moment of new Who is when Chibby became showrunner.
Can you do one for the classic series as well?
What about Wilfred? This list should have been packed with Wilfred moments; there’s a gut-wrenching heartbreakingly sad point in almost every episode he’s in
No classic Who? No Jo leaving in The Green Death?
yep no adric leaveing in earth shock no katarina no sara no viki no jamie no zoe non of there exits instead we got rose leaving omg sad (not really)
The Van Gogh scene could go either way, it could be seen as heartwarming or sad that the real Van Gogh won't ever get to experience it. But one thing is for sure, it certainly made me tear up the most.
Also, Another Warning:
*_extreme feels_*
Ten's rengeneration and build up to that was the most emotional moment through out all of new who. The fact that the doctor looks back on all of his companions that he could and were meaningful combined with the vale and vale decem soundtracks was just beauty and heart wrenching. Ten left seeing all his companions at some sort of happy point or smile. From the point of wilfreds knock till the regeneration is a roller coaster of emotions without question.
How is tens regeneration a honerable mention it’s clearly number one
Moose Goose who’s regeneration ten’s or eleven’s
Moose Goose tru
No way is Amy's death sadder than the doomsday finale
Facing the Raven almost made me cry. 🙁
Same run you little boy and remeber me
Nah, it's cause for celebration! Clara dies!! Clara died!!! WHOOOOOOOOO
It actually made me cry
Made me cry with joy
Yeah Facing The Raven should be #1 (edit: I cried so hard, she was the best companion.)
Dude The Tenth Doctors regeneration brought me to tears how is it only an honourable mention
Van Gogh... For sure. #7 was a happy moment for me... Can't stand Clara.
Clara was a retard and she had aspergers
agreed
What about 11’s regeneration
I've been watching Doctors regenerate since the early 1980's and Eleven regenerating into Twelve was the only one to date in which I cried.
11s is bad like every other nuwho regen 3rd doctors is the saddest
I normally don't view regeneration as something sad. Even if it's a particularly favorite Doctor that's leaving, I'm more excited to see what's coming next with the new Doctor.
I can't really explain why I cried at Eleven's though, I wasn't devastated to see him go, but the way the regeneration scene turned out really hit me in the feels.
Okay but how is Amy coming back at Matt's regeneration and saying "raggedy man, goodnight" not even an honourable mention like what
1. This is just new Who. Are you gonna do another one for classic Who.
And 2. Clara's death wasn't that sad because she was a time clone.
Dalek Sram I wasn't really all that invested in Clara and I wasn't really affected by that moment because I assumed she would just come back to life. The regenerations of 9 and 10 were much more sad for me.
That I agree.
can i tell you a death that was sad and unexpected *spoilers below*
adrics
she was not a time clone
That is partially true. The Clara that the raven killed is the original.
