Great review. I just switched to an Offering (with a 150 fork) after about 18 months on a Following MB (with a 140 fork for most of its life). Despite being a longer, slacker bike with more travel, the Offering definitely climbs better. It also descends better, but that's less surprising. As much as I loved my FMB, it'd be very hard to recommend it over the Offering now. I also just installed a 1 degree Works Components offset headset and it gives you the slack HTA of X-Low coupled with the steeper STA and reasonable BB height of Low - makes the thing absolutely perfect in my eyes.
Great review!! I haven't seen all yoru content but have you spent anytime on a slash or Trek Fuel or pivot Siwtchblade - be curious how they compare? Looking to replace my versitile and super fun Trek Remedy 27.5. Torn between going a bit less travel and more pedally or just more capable. I live in N. Van but ride in Squamish, Whistler and occasionally V. Island. Mostly black and blue trails with some occasional double blacks and like you everything I ride is pedal up no shuttles or Bike park. Cheers!
If you had to choose between this bike or the druid which would you pick? I'm asking because my 2017 transition Patrol just got stolen so I'm looking to replace it and right now the top candidates are the offering the druid and the Esker Rowl.
I have a 160 on mine, I don't think it negatively effected climbing at all. In fact I bumped my wifes ribbon up from 140 to 160 and she really did not notice a difference at all in climbing .
Great review! I would love to hear your thoughts on how this bike compares to the Ibis Ripmo. They seem similar in many ways within the same category, but I can't find many head to head comparisons.
That would be a good matchup. Very similar bikes for sure especially with a bigger fork on the Offering. The biggest difference for me would be the suspension design. The DW Link on the Ibis is a bit more pedal friendly. The DELTA on the Offering is great, best I have been on for sure but still not as efficient as the Ibis. Descending wide they would be pretty similar with the Offering being a bit more playful.
@@IslandBikeLife Thanks for the reply! I am on a Ripmo, but very intrigued by the Offering. Unfortunately, we don't have an Evil dealer nearby, so videos like your really help me make decisions!
I got the SB150 because I have a two year plan that focuses pretty heavy on Enduro racing that if all goes to plan will end with the TransBC next summer. After that I will be selling it for something more in line with this.
Both are great. While the Offering has great climbing and the best feeling DELTA link I have been on the switch infinity in the Yeti is a better overall platform. Both descend well, and depending on your fork choice for the Offering the geo numbers are going to be very close.
I know you didn't ask me but since I ridden both the Offering and SB 130 here's my shitty .02 worth. Yeti is a light race machine that will get you down the hill the fastest and most efficient way super smoothly. The Offering wants to play the whole way down is is a more robust platform that is a bit heavier. Both bikes are fantastic and kill the downs, it just depends on what makes you happy on your decent down the mountain. Yeti does pedal better too...good luck.
Man...I know most people don’t want to buy used. But people can get great bikes for half the price when they’re basically a year old. I lucked out and got my buddy’s wreckoning LB for $3.5k us. And it’s a top end spec. I feel your comment about how hard it is to pedal. When I’m grunting up the mountain, I remind myself of the deal I got. 😂
I'm 6'2" with a 33 inch inseam, and I just bought an Xtra Large X01 Offering today, after trying both it and a large frame. Evil says you should be on a large unless you're 6'3" and up, but I just felt like the reach wasn't quite right for me on the large. With the large I felt like I was sitting on top of the bike where the Xtra large put me more in the bike, which gave me more confidence during descents and in hard turns. I was still able to play around on it though, which was really cool. Also, I really love the bike! Great job Evil 👊😈
The Pivot Switchblade is a pretty cool bike. I really liked it though it just wasn't my favourite bike to ride. For some really intangible reasons relating more to just enjoyment I preferred the Offering. It might have been a fitment issue or bike setup issue for the switchblade because so many people really like it, I just never did get on with it really.
More similar to the SB130 for sure. I would say the 130 climbs a bit better. They are pretty equal otherwise. Minor cosmetic differences, like the cable management on the Evil is not as clean.
Nice thoughtful review...your content is always high quality and fun to watch...and your local trails look a joy to ride!
Thanks for the support!

Yanks for watching! Sounds like you got a pretty excellent setup on the go there!
Great review.
Thanks for watching
So how would you compare the Offering and the Calling, besides the wheel size?
Coil or air on this, how progressive is the frame, great review

excellent review. exactly what i was looking for
Glad it helped!
Awesome review as always
Thanks buddy!
Thx for sharing this info super helpful

Awesome review. 29 stumpy or Evil offering?
Thanks for the support. I would probably go with the Offering between those.
Forgive me but being from CO I have never ridden in your area what trail/s did you do this test on? Cause I need to get int he car and come ride them

Nice review! So on Vancouver Island you want a bike that pedals very well so you bought a SB150??
I got the SB150 because I have a two year plan that focuses pretty heavy on Enduro racing that if all goes to plan will end with the TransBC next summer. After that I will be selling it for something more in line with this.
How would you compare it with the Forbidden Druid. If you had to pick, which one would you buy?
I would probably go with the Druid. I preferred the ride on it more but this is a great bike!
I see someone already asked and you said Druid. Thanks for your input 👍

Love the reviews. But those comparison prices are outrageous. Are most of your subs heart surgeons? 😂
Haha Canadian pricing. We are getting hammered lately with the exchange rates.

Keep up the great work. I am truly enjoying your channel.
Thanks for the review. What is your height and inseam? Trying to decide on sizing.
Right around 6’1” with a 33” inseam.
I'm 6'2" with a 33 inch inseam, and I just bought an Xtra Large X01 Offering today, after trying both it and a large frame.

How would you compare this bike to the new switchblade? Which do you prefer?
The Pivot Switchblade is a pretty cool bike. I really liked it though it just wasn't my favourite bike to ride. For some really intangible reasons relating more to just enjoyment I preferred the Offering. It might have been a fitment issue or bike setup issue for the switchblade because so many people really like it, I just never did get on with it really.
I’d be curious how you feel it compares to sb130 and 150 to you.
More similar to the SB130 for sure. I would say the 130 climbs a bit better. They are pretty equal otherwise. Minor cosmetic differences, like the cable management on the Evil is not as clean.
How tall are you? On their sizing guide they suggest M but I think L would be better
I am 6’1”
@@IslandBikeLife same here. Was split between L and XL
Have you both been on the XL's now to compare?
@@jkbunner Haven't been on either.
This or the wreckoning
This for sure.
