+Liesa Wolf I went to Stuttgart for a week and all I pretty much drank was Mezzo Mix. You can't get that stuff in the UK. I loved it so much. I know it's just orange Fanta and Coke, so I tried mixing them together recently but it just wasn't the same.
+EraPonyProductions that's because the German Fanta and Coke taste sligtly different from the one in the UK (and even far more in case of the US ones). Your daughters are both ABSOLUTLY ADORABLE and your wife is just so sweet your guys truly have an amazing family and of course Barry your just plain old awesome 😉😊
I cannot express how refreshing it is to see Barry's family so engaged with his channel. In a UA-cam landscape where so many significant others and family members say they are too shy, too disinterested, or just too trifling to participate, this channel is a virtual oasis.
You are my favourite UA-camr,which is funny because I am actually not that interested in cooking and food, but I just love your character!Thank you for so many entertaining videos!
I just came across this video and I'm absolutely stunned by how positive this video was. You have truly an amazing family and you definitely earned a new subscriber!
We used to have something very similar in the U.S as the Koala snacks shown on the video, this was back in the 1990's. They were called Koala Yummies here and they were stuffed with chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. I used to love the strawberry flavored ones. They have since vanished from the stores though now you can find similar treats as imports from other countries in a few stores.
+K Kitchenmom Nutella is sold in Germany for more than 50 years already, so many Germans dont know that it was invented somewhere else. Also Nutella is REALLY BIG in Germany. More so in Western Germany, since Nutella was not available in Eastern Germany during the separation. Nudossi is pretty much the alternative which was available in Eastern Germany. And Nudossi is arguably better since it contains much more hazelnuts.
I'm from Germany but I am currently living in the U.S. for a High School Year and it's so funny to hear British English :D I am glad you liked the Weißwurst it's amazing 😋 you have such a sweet family Barry ❤️ loved the video 😊
Your family is lovely!! I love all your videos together :D I'm from Brazil, wishing much happiness to you ;) -waiting for another Brazilian taste test whenever it is possible-
Glad you like our treats, Barry. Greetings to your lovely family. :) Did you try "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte" (black forest cake) oder "Baumkuchen"? Those are awesome, too. And if you've got the opportunity around christmas try to get a hold on "Oblatenlebkuchen" (soft gingerbread cookies on a really thin wafer, covered in chocolate or glazed with sugar), "Weihnachtsstollen" (christmas stollen) and "Marzipankartoffeln" (marzipan potatos).

Yes, definately do it BUT please just taste it in the "Ruhrgebiet" (Ruhr-area). There you can find the real and best one. Don't belive any people telling you Berlin sells best Currywurst. It's a lie !
+Tobi :) yep. the "berlin-currywurst" is just a plane bratcurrywurst. but try the "volkswagen currywurst" with the "matching" ketup. its the best currywurst ever.

Hi there, being German, I found your video very entertaining! :-) Although I'm probably not the first to post this, being a local from Munich, where Weisswürste (white sausages) originate from, I thought I'd educate you a bit on them: Main ingredients are veal (sometimes pork), pork fatback and spices. Tradidionally eaten on the day of production, there's a saying 'The weisswurst mustn't hear the clock strike noon'. This goes back to times of lack of preservation method of easily/quickly spoiling fresh meat. It is not unusual to occasionally have weisswurst for breakfast, or brunch if you will. There are two official ways of eating it: The so-called 'zuzeln' (pronounced tsootseln, because that's how Z is pronounced in German ;-) ), which isn't actually sucking but rather gently nibbling loose a chunk with your teeth without biting through the skin. Then, with half-closed teeth, the sausage is pulled back and the meat stripped out of the casing. This of course is the locals' proper way - fervidly debated though by those who prefer to use cutlery: The sausage is cut lengthwise, then both halves are 'rolled out' to free them from the casing. Pieces are then cut and eaten. This might appear more civilized, but actually, eating weisswurst with your hands is perfectly socially acceptable in Bavaria, and Munich in particular. Enjoy!
last year i had been to the Spreewald and I bought this specific gerkin in a can as a bday present (normally you can't buy it in the shops just like that) and it was so funny when i gave it to the person... well, a lot of innuendos happened! but i love your family, its all so funny and delightful trying different foods :P
+daKoabi Dacht' Ich mir auch so :D Obwohl er vorher noch vorgelesen hat, dass manche die Wurst aus der Haut saugen (Zuzeln oder wie das geschrieben wrd)
Obviously you have a wonderful family Barry. Pheobe's been so good at explaining the taste. And Chloe is so incredibly funny. And why your wife did not want to occur much earlier in your videos is a mystery to me. She is just as sympathetic as you are. Btw the German treats videos are obviously the funniest ones. ;-)
Aww, be supportive of a young violinist (or any entry-level musician)! I'm sure you are actually supportive, considering you got her the instrument in the first place... We all know it doesn't sound great right now. Indeed, bad violin is one of those sounds that just grates on your ears... probably worse than almost any other instrument being played without skill. But nurture that interest and practice, and it could sound beautiful some day. I asked my neighbor about the sounds of violin practice I heard emanating across the hall, and she said her daughter is learning. She immediately got apologetic and asked if it had bothered me, and I enthusiastically said I loved it. Maybe not for what it sounds like aesthetically... but for what it represents and the healthy exploration of music and all the complexity therein. She was super grateful, and said her daughter is really anxious about bothering people with the sound... That made me realize how detrimental I could have been if I were of a different mindset, and had complained, and discouraged future practice... I just fear that could have cascading effects on a young mind.
5:10 / The gherkin is a typical speciality of the the Spreewald near Berlin. (Spree=name of a river / Wald=forest) These huge cucumber in the can is just a joke, a funny gift. Usually they are found in supermarket in normal glasses. 7:40 / Halloren Kugeln are a speciality from the oldest chocolate factory in Germany. They ware the first time made 1952nd and are also very popular in united Germany. The chocolates look like the buttons from craftman-uniforms. 8:40 / Nudossi is a nougat cream with an extremely high proportion of hazelnut. Nutella has about 13% share of hazelnut. Nudossi has 36%. These three products have their origin in the former GDR. Thanks for the funny video! :)
Always love seeing you do videos with your family :D I know how fun kids can be xD I work with a room full of 'em once a month for children's church. Typically the first few minutes is me on the ground with like 6 of 'em dog piling on me.

What? I'm not so good in english, because i'm from Holland
The k in some (English) words is usually silent like "know" for example;
we Germans don't do that though, so it actually IS "K"noppers :D
+Barry Lewis yes
The way your oldest can describe the food is fantastic. You must be so proud.
Some of that age wouldn't even try those things.
I'm not German but the weird B like letter is a double S so the first thing is probably Weisswürste or White sausage. Could be wrong though!
nope you're absolutly right :)
When your kids started singing along it was literally the cutest thing ever they are so adorable!
Jaja, wir haben halt BESCHTE essen. 😂😂😂

The letter ß is NOT a b. You have to pronounce it like s. Never ever pronounce it like b...
Don't you tell ßarry what to do ;)
make me kid
I always thought it was like "ss" or double s sound. But I am not German. It is just what I was taught.
As i recall it from school its pronounced/used like a doube s
(So, ss, but not the hitler way)
YESS another country tasting video thank yooooou :D that more-hazelnutty-than-nutella spread at the end omgah, i need that in my life!

Weißwürste are pork sausages with veal and bacon
+Robbie 1400 +myvirginkitchen Also the German letter ß is not a B but an emphasized S.
+christian kane I would pronounce it 'vice'
Just curious, why is it white?
+Nelly Tang there isnt seasoning in it that would color it
Nelly Tang
why wouldnt it be white? White is a pretty normal color for cooked meat. For meat used in sausages to be red/pink after cooking it either needs to be cured with nitrate/nitrites (which is unhealthy but still used very commonly because customers like you prefer the red/pink color) or needs to contain a large amount of spices like red pepper.
Aww Chloe is so adorable bless, love this video with your family
If you have the chance try a currywurst.
+Ezio Auditore And a bratwurst :3

Greetings from Berlin ;)
Can a German confirm for me that the ß is a 'ss'? Being from England I wasn't 100% sure. Danka!
I'm not a German I'm American but I take German in school and that is how it's pronounced.
+Darren Boss I can confirm! And it's spelled Danke* :) Bitte Schön! hehe

+Darren Boss 'ß' isn't equal to 'ss'. But if you're not able to enter ß (either it's not on your keyboard or you love to write with capslock on), you are allowed to type double-s ('ss').

Awesome video, your kids are so cute :)!! Can you do every foreign taste test video with the whole family from now on??
I just love his way oft spelling. It is so cute xD
I always have to laugh, if others try to say German words. Makes me happy somehow
Obviously you have a wonderful family Barry. Pheobe's been so good at explaining the taste. And Chloe is so incredibly funny. And why your wife did not want to occur much earlier in your videos is a mystery to me. She is just as sympathetic as you are. Btw the German treats videos are obviously the funniest ones. ;-)
Very nice family :). Being from Germany I have to watch all three of your German treats videos.
Nice to see you do a family video! ^_^. They are lovely and your girls are adorable!
Chloe's beer story was hilarious. Great video Bazza!
I just fear that could have cascading effects on a young mind.
such fun. watching you and family is so nice
You have an amazing family. I LOVE this video.
Your family is so delightful. Such a cute video!!! The beer part killed me I was laughing do hard!! #beautifulfamily!!!
