The main problem I had with the whole take was that when they both talked about it on stream when I watched, they warped the details of what happened in this video that ended up making their viewers think Chris and Connor were assholes for not liking the food. On top of scolding them for not liking the breakfast, one tidbit they both ran with was saying that the owners saw them bring McDonalds into the place, which was obviously false. Tried telling people in Nyan's discord during that stream that what she said was incorrect and they wouldn't bother to accept proper facts, which is kind of hard to do when Vtuber communities are notorious for having those sorts of people. If you watched the Worst Foreigner video Chris put out on this channel a couple months back, he called those that have never been to Japan and defend any criticism toward it whatsoever as having Last Samurai Syndrome. When I lived in Japan, they could give me any Japanese dish and I'd gobble it up. I don't know what it is about Japanese cuisine that I love so much but honestly apart from being a bit meh about natto, I like everything else. I was having major cravings watching you eat that Japanese breakfast (and that was after I had a beef burger with cheddar cheese lol).

As a westerner (canadian) I agree that the Japanese breakfast presented to the chaps doesn't seem to properly "carb load" us for a life on the "harsh northern climate". Eggs & bscon is always a winner, or if you are on the go: A peanut butter toast (with the occasional banana slices if you are feeling fancy).
There is a word in German called "Kulturbanause", which describes people who can't seem to appreciate culture - and replacing an ornate, healthy Japanese breakfast with McDonald's made me think of it immediately X'D Still, I understand. Let's set aside the Japanese experience. I'd be extremely happy if someone prep that elaborate healthy breakfast for me every morning.
As a westerner (canadian) I agree that the Japanese breakfast presented to the chaps doesn't seem to properly "carb load" us for a life on the "harsh northern climate". Eggs & bscon is always a winner, or if you are on the go: A peanut butter toast (with the occasional banana slices if you are feeling fancy).

There is a word in German called "Kulturbanause", which describes people who can't seem to appreciate culture - and replacing an ornate, healthy Japanese breakfast with McDonald's made me think of it immediately X'D
Still, I understand. I'd prefer things like pancakes or a good bowl of cereal for breakfast any time. But then again, I never had Japanese breakfast, so I'd LOVE to try it.
Tbh japanese breakfast is the last thing you'd wanna eat in the morning. It's so sad. Hope you get to try it 😅
