The tokyo drifting one would have been the most cinematic way to go imo. Crushed in a slow mo drift collision with ryotaro to point and laugh and an 8k drone to capture the occasion (chefs kiss).

I feel like I'm watching a British man trapped in Japan slowly losing his mind over the course of twelve episodes all filmed in 4K.

What I find funny is the fact that Ryotaro decided to wear completely white snow gear in a blizzard with already low visibility and a "less than trustworthy" guide 😂
Reminds me of the time my husband and I were in a taxi in Hakodate in the middle of winter, him with a broken leg. The taxi driver was delighted to have us foreign weirdos and could not have been more attentive, chatting and offering us sweets. Problem was she kept doing it over her shoulder, looking at us, while driving at 40 miles an hour. In the sleet. Over snow. While laughing maniacally.

8 years ago Ryotaro took a hit on Chris and he's been trying to make ways to fulfill his contract in the most "accidental" way possible
That's why he had to start his own youtube channel, his way of fulfilling hits is amazingly bad, he's had to find other ways to put food on the table lol

Chris is planning to make a movie in the next couple of years (probably in the horror genre). I am hoping he casts some youtube friends in it. It would help increase viewership, and some of them can actually act. Joey and Connor have done voice acting, and Emma actually went to drama school. I think she'd make a great "final girl" in a horror film.

That the guides suck in Japan seems to be a general rule, so every time I see someone complaining about them, I just feel relieved that in one of my many accidents while in Japan, this one climbing down Mount Fuji, our guide was actually a big, strong man who was able to carry me on his back after I nearly crush my knees in some rocks. The Shinto gods either love you or they don't. :D
INCREDIBLE STORIES!! Blizzards in Japan are no joke!! 🇯🇵😫❄ I got stuck in one in Nagano many years ago and almost had to ditch my car. Thankfully a local helped me out and made it home safely ❤

@@davedeal9152 Blame the internet and mass communication. Accents are dying and everyone in the English Speaking world is sort of melding into a *TRUE* transatlantic accent. Its kinda sad because different accents are usually so pretty sounding.

I was nearly crushed by some metal roof tiles that some careless workers let slide off - onto a sidewalk that they also hadn't closed off - in Australia. Forget the spiders and snakes; it's tradies you gotta watch out for 😅

Coming from Canada and having skiied a lot, I am surprised that they allowed you to ski in that weather. Exhaustion is a killer.
Watched that video recently and thought “Chris, if you’re for real and this isn’t a bit, you are in way deeper trouble than you realize,” because in the rest of the video it doesn’t even appear Chris is too comfortable with like black diamond trails, not to mention going off freaking piste. Glad everyone’s fine, obviously, but yeah winter mountains are not to be underestimated.
The new studio is already proving to be a fantastic investment.

I love how at 15:03 Chris is in the snow, facing the prospect of freezing to death on a mountain, and he still sounds kinda bored.
This is hands down the funniest video you've ever made. The cut of Ryotaro saying he'd recommend the blizzard mountain to pros and you showing him repeatedly struggling to stand up is comedy gold. I think it's really sweet to see how much Chris loves the studio and wants to show it off to his friends. You can tell he absolutely adores it, and the enthusiasm is very real. Even the way he insists on a surprise reveal every time is very endearing - and no doubt if it were me I would do the exact same thing.
I can´t help but worry and wonder what happens to his studio when there is an earthquake 😱

I once got caught in a cloud while skiing. It was probably the scariest experience of my life. Visibility was reduced to barely a few metres and it was really hard to tell if you still were on the track.

I know what you mean about Mt. Zao. Once I went up to take a picture of the "snow monsters" (trees covered in snow) but the visibility was 3 meters and my phone went from 100 to 0 battery in about 30 seconds. Glad you made it back safe!
Of all of Chris’s motley crew of friends, Ryotaro is hands down my favorite. He’s the only one I’d actually want to hang out and have a beer with.

I think the struggles you encounter while making vids are really entertaining in hindsight. Like how the OG Journey Across Japan was a horrible experience because you worked yourself to the bone trying to edit videos each night. Your embarassment, awkwardness, and pain is our pleasure :)
