Had my head down as the video started and I swear my head jerked because I had a Cherry Red Burst Les Paul that had the Mini Humbuckers and It sounded just like that. It was like hearing from an old friend. Made My day. Biggest mistake of my life was selling it. Used the money for a down payment on a House, but I still think about it. Not hurting. 14 guitars on the wall!😉
I always recommend the largely forgotten line of non vintage Orange effects, from the Kongpressor to the Two Stroke; they are exceptional. While these aren't bad, for range and character, I think the Ross re issues are the way to go.
I love your reviews. You know what to point out in what makes a product shine. Review isn't exactly the right term though, everything you demo is super positive and I assume there's some kind of vetting to decide what to promote. I've never seen you come out and say something wasn't good, although you're not afraid to say when a particular feature or application of a feature isn't your cup of tea.
I didn't like my mxr super comp at first but that's what I love bout it now is that headroom you can get if you like but it drives the crap out of my 4 6l6's if ýou want . I can use it like a attenuator almost .
It wouldn't hurt AT ALL if you don't put the phaser after the distortion! Because in the '60's and the '70's no one used a phaser or similar device (roto-vibe, flanger or chorus) after an already overdriven tube amp (or preamp)! That kind of thin and awfully creepy sound came in the '80s and nobody wants it back ;-) Just try to put the modulation style pedal before the drive pedal (be it a distortion or overdrive)!!! Want Jimi's sound? Or Edward VH's? They got it putting their mod-pedals BEFORE their already heavily overdriven amps! ;-)
Hey John, just great pedals, you have a cool guitar style, love your rig rundowns vids b I have a question the les paul style guitar sounds amazing, is it a Gibson?
awesome large goodness, everyone want to save space on their pedal board, thats dumb, the front half of the stage should be for the guitar players pedals.
Some pedals are just shaped weird and when you put ‘em all together on the board, you’ll have pockets of negative space that aren’t big enough to fit the rest of my pedals. That’s the only reason I would have a problem with large peds
@@jwardbass4452 I always used those spaces for picks, slides, capos etc. The issue these days is people are trying to fit as many pedals as they can onto overpriced mass produced pedalboards which are too small for what you actually get rather than DIY’ing it like everyone did when large pedals were more commonplace. Actually I hated small pedals on the Pedaltrain which I couldn’t get rid of quick enough. Assuming you’ve got a few tools, a decent sized pedalboard can be built for like £20. The only issue with these Orange pedals is more the height than the other dimensions.
Super confusing if I were to have all 3 on my board. Especially at a show. Why make all of them the same colour? I get because of the brand name but still 😂
I think we need to be honest here, who pays 250 bucks for a one knob phaser. I was around in the 70's and the only phaser worth talking about was the Maestro or MXR. Overpriced hype.
That Distortion pedal sounds huge depending on how you use it. This video doesnt do it justice at all. Yes, I own this pedal. It's UK made and kicks serious ass.
I’m not so sure what everyone is hearing. These pedals sound pretty Budget. The sustain might be usable but, the other two sound like the cheap effects on a small solid state amp.
Yeah but who usually puts distortion phaser and compression into one box? And to mention. If you like 1 of the effects but would never use the other, you wouldnt buy the 3 in 1 which would also jack up the price significantly over just single ones. Lets say one effect is 120. And the 3 in 1 is 250. It just wouldnt sell as good imo
Yes to the chewy orange phaser and your Rosetta Tharpe poster 👍🏼

You gotta love John. All his demos are the best. Love the distortion.
Very cool! I loved the Phaser and Sustain together for that (weird stuff) sound. 🤣🤣Great demo, they all sound awesome.

Thank you for review. Love your playing and explanations. Nice looking pedals
Great stuff John. Thanks mate!

Should I buy the Orange distortion pedal instead of buying an Orange amp? Will it give that sort of similar effect?
Awesome Demo/Review Thankyou. Very interesting pedals.

I love the orange sound and these pedals sound great, but $249 is steep for what these pedals offer.
So steep. I could get a Big Muff for less. Which I honestly prefer 😂
like a lot of the pedal market, you're paying for the name, not the sound, I get it, not gonna do it, but I get it.
@@CharlieMoney777 Agreed. I was being modest, but you’re dead on. Seems like they’re trying to take advantage.
Lol $250 for a phaser? Get a DOD or MXR
If they put all of them in one box it'd be worth $250
John are you using a new camera? Looks alot sharper up close.
Love those old reissue pedals.

ds1 phase90 ross comp?

I’ve watched several demos of these new pedals and they’re fine, but there are no secret circuits anymore. I’m not paying this much for orange paint.
