It's interesting to see how Derek has grown into a somewhat sophisticated and calm person. Really makes you wonder about how many times they had to reboot Jason Mantzoukas to play that part.
Awww I wanted to see the scenes with him interacting with bad place Janet and that one time he had scrabble blocks in his glass, that kills me for some reason.
Here's a dumb science thing: photons don't experience the passage of time. When they travel at light speed, it takes however long for that photon to contact something, say, 8 minutes to get from the Sun to the Earth. But the photon doesn't "feel" the time passing, so 8 minutes of travel to the photon is actually instantaneous - it's born on the Sun, then immediately hits the Earth, least from the photon's perspective. So when Derek says that both his birth and the heat death of the universe are one and the same, he's basically saying he's pure light. Guess he got rebooted a lot.
Kind of makes me wonder what happens when Mindy tries to... Make any sort of physical contact with this version of Derek. Can he feel it? Can it only be described as a bad fanfiction? Has Derek grown beyond the need for touch??
That's technically not true. Light does degrade, eventually. That's why we get red shifts at long distances. It's not because of space expansion, there is no such thing as space expansion (even though its been pushed soo much people think it's fact). It's because light itself does eventually "break down". Of course, it takes such a long time that it's functionally "forever". Light only still exists because there's matter that continually creates it. If we had all the light in the universe today, and removed all the matter, eventually even the light would disappear, and I don't just mean scatter into space and become sparse, I mean the light would just be gone entirely.

Because Derek knows all outcomes. What is a reboot to someone omniscient? Does it truly matter if you lose all your memories, to only deduce them again in .2 seconds? He knows on the curve of space-time, that Derek is a universal constant. His comprehension is no longer so linear as seeing action and consequence, his vision goes so much further than things we see in front of ourselves, and he knows it to such absolute certainty that 'begging' is irrational.
Probably the only negative about the show is derek, just unnecessary and unfunny character. Idk just had to get that outta my system I mean otherwise, perfect show.
I personally love Derek and Jason Mantzoukas, but at the same time characters like his can definitely get on some people's nerves which I honestly prefer over an actor playing it safe trying to cater to all audiences. He's also the type of character that can go from annoying to hilarious to annoying to hilarious watching the same scenes over and over again for all eternity.
