Michael’s laugh is inhuman. The wheeze, the strangled giggling, and the utter shameless delight at their suffering. It’s like an alien in a person suit. Does anyone else appreciate that acting?
i do !! EARTH IS THE BAD PLACE (The Good Place reference. netflix show. not one of the divine fairytales) (it could become the good place if YOU🫵🏾 decided to do something about it and stopped looking outside your sphere of influence)
It gets better! The scene was supposed to play out differently, but it wasn't working; Ted was like, "let me try something", and that's how we ended up with the evil laugh we know and love.
He actually figured it out in attempt #1 before anyone else did when he said in episode 5 that they "were on a prank show", he just wasn't confident enough in himself to believe it.
@solracer66 he got close but didnt quite get there and they referenced it in the finale. Eleanor mentioned in the 1st episode that her parents were probably in hell torturing each other "it would work".
Cinematography at 6:51 is exquisite. The framing of Michael's head against the tape recorder suggests that his mind is running in circles attempting to solve his conundrum. Really shows that the entire production team was on the same page when they made this show 👏
Clutching his gut in pain, and I thought, "There's no way he could live that down. There's no one, literally no one, who is more stupid, naive, gullible, or self-deluded."
Watching this show again and focusing on Michael more throughout the first season, you can see definite hints of this throughout. Utterly marvelously done.
The foreshadowing was in Ep1 with the orientation speech. What happens to the others? You don't have to worry about that. Empathy and love of neighbor is a hallmark of moral ethics or an enlightened spirit. Those ascended to a more perfect realm would still lament the fate of others. Saw that as soon as Michael said it. The series is "4 characters in search of an exit".
The weirdest thing about the actual good place too is that it is also very devoid of empathy and love from both the overseers and residents, with the overseers trying their hardest to maintain a "fair" system that has been punishing every person who had come into the afterlife and the residents not even being given the autonomy of choice due to the overabundance of pleasure making their minds mush
@@tommydoez it is not weird, because...Holy Forking Shirtballs...it is The Bad Place. The analysis by the writers is that the point system (The Law) seems fair, but instead it becomes despotic tyranny. Once you've faultered in The Law you likely can't succeed, without cheating which itself is illegal, so why not just let everything spin into hell for the goofs...or keep adding law after law until there is no way anyone can exist without breaking a law. That is where our society is right now. You can't enjoy a soda, a cooked meal or a car ride to a park without having somebody in society insist you are sinning against nature or carbon or privilege or race. This is a very well written series.
This show helped me realize just how absurd the idea of an eternal afterlife would be and how no matter whether it's good or bad it would just become so bland eventually.
2:17 Such a great evil laugh.😈 Also, that’s a lot of motherforking shirt-balls.😉😂 I just love the montage of all the reboots they did at the beginning of Season 2.😂❤
"Surprise, idiots! You're all in the Bad Place! That's right, nerds! Everything around you, all you can see, is an elaborate system of torture designed just for you" ( Michael in "The Good Place")
If one is not savvy one will miss the fact that this promotes race-mixing under the guise of "cuteness" when there is nothing cute about it. This is an "agenda-laden" production meant to hypnotize the thoughtless by featuring a "smart," black, academic and a hapless "Karen," as the man allows himself to be cajoled into "making her a better person." Kristen Bell plays a superficial, light-headed, suburban, at best, as the academic is caught-up in the western notions of philosophy and educational system to the degree that any other paradigm is completely absent. But for the instances of banal creative moments, this production is a sad waste of time. Just another Hollywood feature promoting that which weakens those ascending into their rightful place in the Universe, while also promoting that which would serve to keep them and their controllers in CONTROL.

Perfect line.
😘
Jason figuring it out was my favorite scene in the whole show

My favorite scene was the attempt where Michael left the door open 😂😂
The absolute joy on his face!
Still one of the most epic TV twists of all time!
I agree but i knew it from the very first episode
I didn’t find out till the twist and that first season was fantastic.
Great philosophical show
I was thinking "not so heavenly with all the problems and stress" but still didn't connect the dots till the big reveal..🤦♀️😂
YESSS

The funniest part isn't just that Jason figured it out. It's that Chidi, Tahani, and Janet never did.
Jason figuring it out has to be the best part, especially with how proud he looks lmfao
Jason this is hell; course there's a gift shop -- just the best line ever😂

The balloons and cactus one always got me
"This one doesn't even count" is such a funny line, good lord xD
Thank you for finally making more videos about this show! I’ve finished it some months ago, and I think it’s one of the best shows of all time!
There's something messed up with this world, y'all. I think we _are_ in the Bad Place!
Jason figured it out? Jason?

Such a great show with so many amazing quotes!
This show is brilliant in every respect.

This show really had everything. Name dropping, Arizona shrimp horny, ethics. Ect.
THIS SHOW PLOT TWIST I NEVER SAW COMING
I want to know more about the version with the cacti and the balloons.
Me too
🎉🎉 would appreciate more of The Good Place
I think about "Dammit! That was a real trip for biscuits and now we're all wet daddy-o" all the time
Home is where the heart is, and Hell is other people
0:00 that’s queen Anna for ya
Im pretty sure i died some time ago in one of a few potential accidents, and im in the bad place.
So awesome! Even though i knew the entire time that they were in the bad place
The laugh tho
3:08 Even Michael is stupefied by Jason lol
Angel princess!!
The first white person with dredlocks should be dressed as a celt, since we have been wearing our hair like that for 1000's of years 😂
0:32 1:06 if it was always there plan to revel that "this is the bad place".. then y reboot after the reveal againandagain??
Because they needed to prove that it was a functional way to torture them before expanding the plan and promoting Michael
During the first reveal, Michael says "AA you ruin everything", I suspect them finding out, over and over, was not intended
Can someone please do an all Vicky compilation, please?
Anna from Frozen
holy motherforking shirtballs
