- I recently picked up a new midi controller, Novation Impulse 49. I wanted something stage worthy, stable and fast to work with during a performance. The Novation Impulse is the prefect choice.

I’ve just plugged it into logic and used it as a piano/synth, but was longing to adjust the drum pad.

How’s the keyboard ? I would like to use it as a midi controller for organ and clav sounds from my Nord Stage 3 ? Would you recommend it ?
I love mine. I used to use M-Audio midi keyboards (mostly Axiom) until I got my impulse 49. I won't go back to the Axiom series.
The impulse is very solid. I'm pretty impressed. I do think the Code series keys felt better to play live piano stuff. The curve velocity was insanely good. Kinda blows. 😐
I noticed you had the M-Audio Code 49 a while back. I have that one now and I am thinking of returning it. The pads on it sort of suck if you ask me. Also, looking at this one and the MPK249. Any thoughts?
I had issues with the freeZing. I had no issue with pads but I'm not a heavy finger drummer. I used them as triggers.
If you can still return it and your not happy with the M Audio I would do it.
2 things It does not have: dedicated program change buttons and power On/Off button. I don't use the rest of the buttons (except for the DAW controls).
I'm so torn between the Code 61 and Impulse 61. I need a live keyboard that will last. The M Audio feels so good to play but the Impulse has a track record of reliability. I saw that you prefer the keys on the M Audio, but in your opinion how much better is it than the Impulse?
I feel they are better for live piano stuff. It just reacts so much like a real piano. The fact it's unstable for me made me drop it from my setup. 🙁
I'll keep it around to lay down live piano tracks tho.
have you bought novation 61 or m audio code 61 because me too i dont know what to choose

Sorry for late delay. It's a decent controller, I do feel the m-audio I own has better keys.
how do you assign the nobs and sliders with the drum pad? i just got the same keyboard

Which keys feel the best? Those of the blofeld or this one. I wanted to buy the blofeld with keys but I'd rather have 61 keys to my disposal. And can it control the blofeld desktop version?
