That would make sense for the plot of the *next expansion i.e. Midnight.* And in my understanding, this is not the last of Xal’atath and she’s definitely going to be in Midnight as well because that expansion will be a Light vs. Void type expansion and she’s the Harbinger of the Void. I’m pretty sure Xal’atath is the main villain/antagonist of *The War Within* and *Midnight.* Also, “that trinket” is actually *The Dark Heart,* which is a powerful, ancient magical artifact, infused with ancient dark magic and Xal’atath collected or drained the essences of the Old Gods and has the essence of Galakrond in there as well, which Iridikron drained during *The Dawn Of The Infinite, during the expansion Dragonflight.* It was Irdikron who obtained The Dark Heart during *Dragonflight* and gave it to Xal’atath as well as teamed up with her. You're amazing for uploading this! My cutscene crashed on me and was so upset, and confused how Khadgar was lying outside the Priory alive Thank you so much!!
Sad that xal'atath just loses because the plot needed her to be stupid for a moment, every confrontation with her she was always 3 steps ahead, she can teleport anywhere in an instant, she can turn into intangible smoke, she can turn alleria's brain off with void whispers, she waves her hand and alleria's bow goes flying away , she dodges and arrow she didn't even see coming, but in the most important and crucial moment, she forgets how to do any of those things and then the VOID artifact that can eat up a giant arcane laser beam is broken by the VOID ENERGY ARROW. But of course the good guys won and got their moment, even khadgar is back. We finally have an interesting villain after like 4 years of boring plastic villains, but sadly xal'atath got the blizzard treatment and she's stupid now, I could even see a bit of sylvanas in her doing the classic signature blizzard villain *screams in frustration, says it's not over yet and teleports away*. It's so sad how you are forced into just cheering for the good guys every time, because its 100% guaranteed that nothing bad will happen to them, the villain will always lose in a stupid way and eveything will be alright in the end, shallow ass black and white narrative. I'm happy for the people who enjoyed this cinematic, but I just can't, the supposedly powerful villain just forgets how to fight and loses so easily, their powerful artifact that is shown time and time again to absorb any kind of energy just gets destroyed by an attack of THE SAME ENERGY IT IS MADE OF and death is officially broken in warcraft narrative, because not only can you physically travel to the afterlife, any character can now get ressurected if the plot wants so, I will never be shocked seeing someone die in this story again. Butt messes me up the most is how FAST things are progressing, its too goddamn fast, anduin gets his light back, khadgar is back, xal'atath plans are ruined AND THE RAID HASN'T EVEN LAUNCHED yet not to mention so many other things like xal'atath being able to empower the Ascended to become insane killing machines, we had trouble dealing with that one dude in a previous quest, imagine what an army of those rabid ascended could do? Oh yeah xal'atath just forgot she could do that too. What about the order of night? I feel like their story was very unfinished and poorly written, wish they expanded more on it. Why doesn't the final campaign quest of this patch ties into the raid? we just beat xal'atath at the priory and thats it, I wish something happened that directed us to the raid, maybe the dark heart being broken creates a portal that sucks us there and we chase Xal'atath into the nerub'ar palace or something, to tie into this too Ansurek barely appears in these quests, and she's the final boss of this tier, I wish the campaing quests or azj kahet quests showed more about xal'atath manipulating Ansurek, the queen appears to be messed up in the head right now but in the start all she wanted was to make their kingdom prosper again, xal'atath twisted that for her own ends. I wanted to see how xal'atath made the ascended and how her dark void alchemy works, how it all started, I'm scared that they will just drop the nerubians now and forget about them I was excited in the beginning of this expansion but blizzard is starting to show signs of chronic blizzard writting illness again, it makes me worried about the future, I like xal'atath, I waited 10 years for a void expansion, I don't want this to be wasted
I'm right there with you. I get that they wanted Alleria to have a moment, that's fine, but the execution just doesn't work. I mean we could of had a story about how Xal'atath can just keep shutting her down because she is stronger with the Void than Alleria is so Alleria has to try something else, learn something else, get a new weapon, or tool, anything but instead we just see Xal'atath dominate Alleria at every turn except for when the plot really need Alleria to win.
I was sure that he wasn't dead, but I didn't expect him to be ''saved'' so soon. I can't wait to troll all the people who argued with me that Khadgar is dead.
Dadghar lives! *STOMP STOMP* In all seriousness, a little concerned that two of the biggest plot-points, the fate of Khadgar and Anduin's relationship with the Light, got resolved so quickly, but I'll take it regardless! Its nice to see some small-scale wins in the face of the overwhelming machinations of the Harbringer, and now we've got a very personal grudge against us on behalf of Xal'atath. First, we nearly killed her using the Black Blade to drain Sargeras's sword before it could kill the World Soul, and now we may have permanently damaged her MacGuffinite. Now, it is personal for both sides of this fight ...
Please don’t make Xal into all the other A4 villains. Feels a little stupid of Xal to not protect her artifact better. Her scene with Khadgar showed off some of her power, and Khadgar had no chance. But Alleria shoots an arrow at Xal’s artifact, breaks it. Xal flips and leaves? Feels super silly 😑
I think Alleria simply damaged the artifact and made it start Leaking the energies she absorbed, including Kadgar itself. She has been going around absorbing all energies, from Dalaran and Kagdar and etc etc, they all used as source of power for her. but the artifact was damaged so she quickly went away to seal/fix it, while some of the energies and Kadgar leaked out.
@@LuckyPed10 That makes sense actually, to absorb and fix the damage done to the artifact, she left. I just find it poorly written that Xal is so careless around the artifact that seems so important to her? Earlier when Alleria shot an arrow at her, she just made it disappear with a flick of her wrist. It’s a different scenario of course, but perhaps multi tasking while absorbing Beledar or whatever funny business she’s up to, is not something Xal is capable of 😂
Feels good to see Blizz telling a good story in this game again. Feels like the main plot of the expansion is largely over, and the coming patches is just tying up loose ends, while setting up Midnight. Which I think is a great way to structure an expansion's story. Instead of making us wait months, and months for more pieces to the main plot.
Anduin is gonna turn out to be one of the most powerful light priests in the history of the game, or hes gonna go full holy paladin and have a Luke Skywalker moment. It's coming
I was panicking when the cutscene just beeped a few times, then I was popped in the middle of the town and Khadgar was on the ground. Best cutscene I have seen so far. This was absolutely EPIC!
She could be. Because when Xal used that black hole thing to destroy Dalaran, Khadgar’s arm literally desintegrated. ( it didn’t feel like a teleportation or like he was being captured) That’s why I was waiting for him to lose his arm at least. Also Xal’atath mentions that Alleria never felt her presence when she was in disguise as the other mage.
I'm sorry but how tf is xal just gonna let her shoot the artifact and not use her super op void magic to like, protect it? It's not like they were fighting and got damaged in the process. She even warned xal she was aiming for it. Come on......
Eh it's partially for the cinematic effect, you can consider her shooting the arrow before "warning" her and without Xal yet realizing Alleria's aim at that point. she also just said not you and not the artifat so few second to process what she mean.
It has been so many years since a story in wow brought me to actual tears. This sure did. People hate a lot on Blizz but this story this time around is actually peak content imho! I'm so proud of my boy manduin T_T
You can hate the cinematic just because everyone hates everything Blizz creates but I have to admit that this one actually gave me chills, I loved that and I was honestly surprised by this twist :)
For one second i was saying, "cant be Alleria so stupid to try attack Xalathat again", but to my surprise, she "destroy" the shadow hearth, but what's now, she brokes it or just damage it? We will see in the final boss of the raid, how this will continued?
It's The same with everything nowadays dude. People either want to hate something before they even give it a chance, or they let nostalgia blind them to liking something simply because it doesn't feel the same as it did when they were 10. And I'm sorry but world of Warcraft is never going to feel the same as it did when you were a 10-year-old kid playing vanilla not knowing what the hell you were doing
kinda clueless arent you? THERE WELL NEVER BE A WARCHIEF AGAIN.. Horde races have finally understood that that was a leftover from the Orcish evil history, and needed to vanish forever.
i'm in tears. watching anduin looking, probably still doubting he can do it but finally built up the courage to try after being scared to reach out for so long. All Faerins talk about hope and how to stay a light in the dark has really inspired anduin to finally try. And watching his sigh of relief when he succeeded is truely well done.
What makes this even better is she said that knowing Xal’atah would freak out and try and move it, which is why she turned the arrow and aimed a bit to the left! She outplayed Xal’atah :)

Am I being too negative by feeling like this was too early? I love Khadgar being back/being revived and Anduin getting his Light back, it's sick - but only *two* weeks into the expansion? It doesn't feel earned, like Anduin's been struggling for *years* to get his Light back, and now it's already good to be reviving people? And Khadgar is back already - it feels like it almost cheapens his sacrifice at Dalaran with how little time he was absent. Idk. I *love* the cinematic, and the story, but the timing is strange.
To be fair for Anduin, his issue was never about getting his light back. He was worried that if he reached out for the light it wouldn't be there and what that would mean for him. His capacity never diminished, he just had mental blocks he had to get over. I do mostly agree about the Khadgar part though. This felt inevitable because no one ever really dealt with Khadgar's death in the first place and our boy here would get a more monumental sendoff if he was really gone. As it stands, sort of a nothing exit and a nothing return.
Per some datamined stuff, there's "Khadgar's Wheelchair." So while he's been rezzed, I don't think he's going to be in any shape to do much more than Advise from now on. He's not exactly a young man even *not* counting his curse of old age from Medivh.
@@michaelgreenwood3413 he's actually in the wheelchair in the Foundation Hall in Dornogal! There's a stay a while and listen with him and Alleria where he talks about how he survived being in the Dark Heart and how he's still injured :)
Well, guess the Dark Heart wound up not mattering much in the end, unless Xal somehow fixes it. Also, why does Xalatath keep flinching whenever Alleria shoots at her. She took everything Khadgar had and then dodged Alleria’s arrow at Dalaran. And throughout this expansion she keeps monologuing about how powerful and cunning she is and then dodges like she’s scared of an arrow every time Alleria shoots at her. I’m really getting nervous they’re going to Jailer our girl and I reeeeeeally don’t want that.
The heart is literally the only thing that protects Xal's weak vessel. We know it consumes energy and feed its user, if anything you dont fight her with magic since your spells are going to get eaten (Like Khadgar in Dalaran). As for Alleria's arrows? maybe the heart cant eat those? Anyway i'm with you in the "Villain monologue" part, lets hope this defeat force her to take mortals more serious and realise how vulnerable she is.
@@audine2219 You see, I can buy that. Having the Dark Heart on hand protecting her from magic makes sense since it absorbs magic/energy. Fingers crossed she takes a page from Iridikron's book and actually starts taking us seriously. So that is why Xal'atath will go to Sunwell, in replacement of that trinket, to use as conduit of whatever she is channeling there.
Omg ! You're a cleaver guy ! Hope you're right !
That is why Xal’atath is/was so powerful.
If you've watched the recent gamescon interviews, they did mention Xal'atath will be around throughout the whole Saga!

Finally a character that get saved instead get corrupted and become a raid boss.
Agreed! I was so worried they would make him a monster and some raid boss where we have to face him.. now i'm happy he is saved. :)
Butt messes me up the most is how FAST things are progressing, its too goddamn fast, anduin gets his light back, khadgar is back, xal'atath plans are ruined AND THE RAID HASN'T EVEN LAUNCHED yet
not to mention so many other things like xal'atath being able to empower the Ascended to become insane killing machines, we had trouble dealing with that one dude in a previous quest, imagine what an army of those rabid ascended could do? I wanted to see how xal'atath made the ascended and how her dark void alchemy works, how it all started, I'm scared that they will just drop the nerubians now and forget about them
I was excited in the beginning of this expansion but blizzard is starting to show signs of chronic blizzard writting illness again, it makes me worried about the future, I like xal'atath, I waited 10 years for a void expansion, I don't want this to be wasted
Boo hoo wah. It's just a game. Find something you like and do that, otherwise stfu. These long rants are pointless, and you know it. We ALL know it.
Why Xal’atath didn’t instantly get into Alleria’s head like she did in Dalaran?
I think Alleria is stronger here than in Dalaran. Not so easy to manipulate and she got what she wanted.
Perhaps she needs to use the Heart to do it? Khadgar called out to her, so that's why I'm inclined to believe that.
The plot needed her to lose, that's it. She could've also evaded the arrow like she did in the dalaran cinematic, or teleport away, anything really
Can't believe they killed Khadgar twice so far in WW and he still came back.

Dadghar lives! *STOMP STOMP*
In all seriousness, a little concerned that two of the biggest plot-points, the fate of Khadgar and Anduin's relationship with the Light, got resolved so quickly, but I'll take it regardless!
Xal'atath model, voiceover and animation is at the top level.
Almost like Xal is leading Alleria by the nose...
It’s a different scenario of course, but perhaps multi tasking while absorbing Beledar or whatever funny business she’s up to, is not something Xal is capable of 😂
@@Suledian That would be so cool, if this was all part of her plan! 💪🏻 let’s hope so.

Feels good to see Blizz telling a good story in this game again. Feels like the main plot of the expansion is largely over, and the coming patches is just tying up loose ends, while setting up Midnight. it's not, don't worry
She could be. Because when Xal used that black hole thing to destroy Dalaran, Khadgar’s arm literally desintegrated. ( it didn’t feel like a teleportation or like he was being captured)
That’s why I was waiting for him to lose his arm at least. Also Xal’atath mentions that Alleria never felt her presence when she was in disguise as the other mage.

Bugged in my run, ty for uploading!
