Kind of like the Quantum ranger to the Time Rangers, but people in Blizzard were too cucked like to give him such a role, and he ended up being portrayed (or tries to) as an incompetent goof with no redeemable traits. Despite this, he is unironically rather competent for a non serious character in the original story.

I get that the Trolls have their set voice lines, but I think it's very telling of how good the writing of this story is and how "human" Garithos has been made that I literally asked "what?" at the same time Garithos said "what is that even supposed to mean" after the troll said "de wanna wanga". Arthas went fully Palin after Captain started to laugh : "I WILL NOT BE RIDICOULED BY A COMMON SOLDIERY... Anybody else feels like a little... giggle? When I mention my friend Biggus... Utherus?"

Meanwhile, in an alternate StarCraft universe… Montag's men have found the Warp Gate to the Essence of Infinity. Duke thinks it's not needed to win against the Zerg. Just then, the Dominion has set up a base nearby, and "Empress Kerrigan" wants to have a word. Duke opens the comms channel and Kerrigan shows up on screen. They start off in regards to New Gettysburg; Kerrigan would've done the same as Duke had, and Mengsk really would've agreed. But the reason Kerrigan is mad at Duke is because he upstaged her by taking over what could've been a very important mission for the Dominion. Duke says he just wanted to keep the Emperor's Shadow in reserve in case of a threat to the Dominion from a different angle: the Tal'Darim and eventually the Zerg were very open threats, and thus the ideal smokescreen for some insidious to take advantage of. He then throws back the question of where she had even been when Emperor Mengsk ended up dead, and why Valerian is missing. Kerrigan replies that the Zerg had become far more sneaky than they all anticipated, and that Valerian is being searched for as they speak. The reason Kerrigan is here is because she heard rumors that Duke plans to claim the Essence of Infinity and overthrow the Dominion with it. The General asks who told her that, but she refuses to answer, also bringing up Duke's past of only joining the Dominion because they rescued him and his men long ago when the Confederacy was the main Terran ruling body, putting his true loyalty to the Dominion in question. She sends Ghosts to investigate his base herself, only for one of Duke's hired Arbiters under the Captain's orders to put them in stasis. When Kerrigan's operative doesn't respond to her comms, she assumes the Ghost was killed and refuses to believe otherwise when the Captain explains the Arbiter mercenary, given she knows of Duke's prejudice against the Protoss. She then declares she's demolishing Alpha Squadron, and that Omega Squadron should join her if they want to live. Montag thinks she's mad, and that he's under a deal with Kel-Moria to find this Essence, which ends up marking him as her enemy too. Surrounded on all sides, Duke decides that seizing the Essence of Infinity might be their only chance to survival. Montag leads him with a small company to the Warp Gate, and the Captain is given the task to defend the base alongside the mercenaries from both the Dominion and the Zerg (None of Morik's Infested Terrans hired by Duke were left in the previous battle).
I wonder what skills he would have ... How many Dreadlords he would kill ... He would never raise Sylvanas ... but boy will we have undead Archmages ... on horses. xD
The plot thickens! I can't wait for the next chapter. I have the feeling that Arthas will claim Frostmourne anyway and Garithos will be left as the sole defender of humanity.

Good Day my Lord!! So Arthas became King of the Tides in his own right. He always had the potential for things like that. What he didn't have was the maturity to achieve them. A tragedy. The intrigue of knowing what the apotheosis of this narrative arc will be like has me on the edge of my seat. Imagine that Garithos' decisions help keep Lordaeron standing and indirectly put Quel'Thalas in check. The scourge would use Stratholme or Scholomance as headquarters to assault the elven homeland. If Arthas manages to evade Frostmourne's curse, who would be Ner'zhul's new champion? Call me crazy but I imagine Sylvanas falling into the same path of perdition, because after all, both were not so different according to Kel'Thuzad. Imagine that he also begins to hear the whispers of Ner'zhul in his quest to gain power to expel the plague that has now infiltrated his home. In addition to disagreeing with the measures that Garithos applied in Lordaeron against the Scourge. If Frostmourne ended up neutralized, imagine his bow reforged with the fragments of the cursed sword. Well, in the end these are just my ramblings. P.D.: Absinthe Bombards sounds amazing for the Gunship too.
This is soooo good, I love all the cool details of this storyline, the murloc/sand subplot is too silly for my personal taste, but overall im a big fan of Garithos and his adventures.
