The FPS I was getting was about 30-50, now it goes up to 80-100.

djrocks567 It improved the Fps a bit but its just some basic windows changes to actually get more fps you need to upgrade your PC (upgrade your gpu not your ram)

I just started playing GTA V with a mid-end PC and I got game lags / frame drops every few seconds, and also, sometimes stuff would render very slow (ground around me invisible or grey). I followed most of your instructions (except for the external software installing, ccleaner etc.) and now my game runs smoothly! no more render issues, no more frame drops. pretty stable at 58-61 fps. I’m often a bit sketchy when it comes to deleting stuff on my pc and changes settings because in the past it just ends up worse or my pc doesn’t even turn but I have to say this has made my graphics 10X better it was running ok but I felt like I could get more out my graphics card and I have installed razor cortex which has also helped a lot with graphics thanks a lot that video deserved the Like and the sub!

very good tutorial, I deleted about 6,8GB :D but u missed one, in my opinion very helpfull option for better performance.. for me, the performance highly increased by setting the priority of GTA.exe in the task manager to "high". Good video anyway, cheers

thank you, even in 2021 this helped out. I normally get about 60 fps, but i get screen stutter a lot im running on a amd ryzen 5, this video helped put less strain on it, thank you. Now im getting like 75 fps, even with texture quality on super high along with some other settings.

It isn’t ram, it’s due to his high FPS, if he limits it to where it doesn’t drop at all, he will get no stuttering neither lag.

Guys if deleting TEMP gave you this much fps+, then imagine how much fps+ you will get if you delete all the files in the %temp% folder and the prefetch folder if you did the same steps......
Just doing the in-game settings changes made me go from a steady 45 fps to a steady 100 fps. I didn't realise how much of a difference distance scaling actually made, and I think that was my main problem.

ッGabriell the reason for it to exist is to create dumps of memory so when you opens an app or program it will load quicker since the programs’s data has already been turned into memory prepared or ready to be used immediately, disabling it will remove any unnecessary memory dump that will take up space and ruin performance for nothing. I recommend disabling it.

Yo thank you so much man i've went from 50-60 stuttering to 100-150 just because i put anisotropic filtering from off to x16
Textures don't affect my FPS at all so lowering them only negatively impacts my gaming experience. Changing the water to normal makes it look like crap but putting it on high makes it look nice and doesn't lower FPS at all. After lowering everything my FPS only went up by a few literially just a few FPS. I'd rather keep the more visually appealing settings and run at 30-35 fps versus everything on low looking like crap at 35-40fps. Heck the best thing I did to improve FPS was slightly lower the screen resolution which wasn't even noticable.
My game also runs better on direct 11 versus the other options.
