    When one of my good friends was in college many years ago, he made the same mistake of pronouncing 'Camus' with a hard S in a philosophy class. We all laughed at him. But now he's a doctor of philosophy and makes me feel dumb on a regular basis. For a young man, you're well on the way to greatness bro. Keep it up.

    or is it? mersualt on the outside was indeed an average man, but he was nothing alike most people in the way of thinking. The entire trial that is based on society trying to label him, create a reason for his act of murder to make out a meaning of something meaningless. The people in the courtroom were afraid of him not due to his act, but due to not being able to understand him, he was out of ordinary, not following the common way of reason. He got sentenced as monsieur antichrist not as a murderer because he was in fact diffrent comapred to the common man.
    The novel is about reason meeting with absurdity, in no way does it tell a message that one should strive for greatness and find meaning in our own lives.
    Of course you may interpret it however you want, but i fail to see how that is an accurate interpretation.

      I love J.C just as much as the next person but a large portion of the world is either secular or not Christian so they don't have that bond to J.C that you and I have. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs so we should respect that.

      that is only if your morality and meaning of life derives from religion. And most philosophers dealing with existentialism straight up reject the christian values of being rewarded after death, for that remains uncertain.

      1: If you provide criticism, provide a more appealing one than simply stating an error has been made.
      Point out the error, why you think it to be an error and what should be done about it.
      If you do not do so, you introduce a problem into somebodies life through your "insight" without the ability for it to lead to improvement.
      2: Most people do not know how to pronounce properly outside of their own language, this is a mistake to be expected in a format that does not include phonetic markers
      In conclusion, become better at giving feedback else you risk falling into/being perceived as destructive cynicism or what have you.

    • @itiso1123
      @itiso1123 2 місяці тому

      @@russelhill9721 he didnt elaborate on his points but there werent misplaced. the author did in fact stray far off from the original message of the novel ignoring the entire psychological part of the story.
      i'm sorry but the entire part about his life being average and mersault being no diffrent to others was straight up wrong - entire book revolves around his thought process and values not agreeing with those of society (therefore everyone) around him. "i couldnt find anything unique in his life" The author found nothing out of the ordinary in the way our hero was thinking and how these thoughts influenced his actions, leading him to being labled by the judicial system as monsuier antichrist.
      He could be more descriptive about the issues he found with the video but it was a accurate point nonetheless.
      You also told him he lacks wisdom without any explanation to why you think so, in this you are no better.
