    If you dont like fiction (which I have a hard time understanding) I would definitely recommend Terry Pratchet (co-author of the phenomenal Good Omens) who writes amazingly witty and smart fantasy novels. If you have the time and are interested I would definitely say that you should check it out. They are incredibly fun and hilarious, definitely an amazing author. Best wishes!

    I love reading but the reading mindset on the internet is fucked up. Reading is an important and amazing way to share information. Without written media religion, science, mathematics and other amazing lines of thought integral to society and our cultures would not have been documented or developed to the major extent that they are. Society would not have progressed and built upon itself how it has without literature without books, it would not have. It is also a fantastic way to share your imagination and stories, commentary on the world around us. The unique insight that books allow for is inherently personal and so very valuable. Its fucking sad how proudly anti intellectual the internet has become. You can incredibly easily reach such phenomenal pieces of literature both through the internet and local libraries for completely free. Please read books you are doing yourself a complete disservice if you don’t read them.

    I've been meaning to look for content that proves that 'curiosity' is an absolute trait that precedes achieving success in life. Thank you for providing useful insights on this matter. I've been pairing this with the 'obsession' trait and it's a pair so destructive and powerful that I've observed this in personalities clearly belonging to the 1% in their respective fields. Keep this up, Michael. I know that you'll spread this message and I hope for all the best. You deserve the subscribe ^^

    This curiosity approach to courses and learning in school I feel can be easily bypassed if you just choose the subjects that you're interested in,, and I find myself planning out the way I want to complete a course by taking the initial approach that you suggested. But rather than being inefficient in studying, I try to find the most efficient way to reach the fluency that the exam requires, giving me room to do either thing that I want or further understand the topic that I have just learned. I totally agree with curiosity playing a large role in education, but especially for teens whose morals change regularly, relying on this isn't stable in my opinion. Open to any feedback :)

    Great video! I was just wondering, what books do you recommend for someone trying to get into non-fiction?

    • @MRbookworm
      @MRbookworm 16 днів тому

      It entirely depends on what you are wanting to learn. When I started I knew I needed to learn about money so I looked up popular money books non fiction and rich dad poor dad came up. I prefer reading books that will help me to become more productive like feel-good productivty and atomic habits 2 solid productivity books and to get better at communication, like how to win friends and influence people and influence. What do you want to learn then look up that topic with non fiction beginner at the end. Try not to look for the perfect book there seems to be a big trend right now that only some books are good and others are bad but you will learn something from every book you read so don't worry if you read a "bad" one to start. Good luck

    This is just sad. People seem increasingly allergic to doing the things that are connected to a certain identity and instead just try to appear to do them. It was already bad enough that people have always done things to obfuscate who they truly ARE (appearing to read is removed from reading endless non-fiction with no action is removed from understanding and engaging with the subject up close)

    I think people should romanticize reading. It's a healthy hobby, and if there are people out there dumb enough to think reading a book makes them look attractive, then maybe they'll actually learn something when they finally quit it for a moment to read the thing they're holding. Even if they don't, who cares? Reading will always looked at as positive.

    People romanticised this way before tiktok. Reading is appreciating an art form, appreciating and analysing to understand the world and ideas of another individual. Understandable that people find it "attractive", considering intelligence is an attractive trait. However it's sad that some people don't actually read to read and enjoy a book and an author's writing, but simply to look "hot" or "aesthetic". But I don't think it's that big of a deal, it's just one of those trends that some people pull.
