Thanks for posting, I've been considering this option because Dakota Digital kinda thinks too much of their product for our trucks. I also have an '84 which is down now spun rod or bearing haven't investigated yet, but I subscribed to your channel because I'm thinking of carbing a 5.3 not sure yet but I have a new 1406 carb on the truck now. Thanks again.
Very good video. I like the fact that you used a 12 pin connector on yours. I have this set in red or did I should say. Over a 6 month span I started losing LEDs on the speedo RPM panel. Started with the right blinker then the left and finally lost my high beam indicator from time to time till it just stopped. Shortly after I started losing the LEDS on the RPM gauge till just this month I lost the whole panel. I reordered a new one when I came across you video. I think most of my problems were with grounds, I hate automotive grounds. Hope I have it figured out this time.
Hi great video. I just installed these gauges. I know you want to use your sensors, but make sure the ohms resistance is the same on each individual sensor or your readings will be false. Thanks,Donnie
smokey2022Ssss yes you are correct and I have noted that I will not be using my own sensors. I will be using the ones that came with the cluster. I will edit the video to let others know this soon. Thanks for pointing that out.
I have used several of your ideas they are awesome right now I’m tying up loose ends the green wire for the tack from my intelligence Tronics unit looks like I have to hook it to the white wire on my psi wiring harness Are you familiar with this Psi Wiring harness
when are you gonna do a install video if you dont me asking. and thanks for this video man i was just looking at thes gauges a few weeks ago and i really want them and thanks to this video i think i can wire them up
Did you run the check engine wire into the connector? I have a 12 pin but running the check engine wire would make it 13... 1)high beam 2)right turn 3)left turn 4)water 5)oil 6)tach 7) speed 8)power 9) fuel) 10)ground 11)dimmer 12)brake **13) check engine
Lonnie's Garage (Puppetkicker) ive been debating on that or doing individual cobalt brand gauges. Also its awesome to see a another fellow Christian loving his Square body.
Lonnie's Garage (Puppetkicker) Thank you very much!!! One last quick question, this is in regards to your part 2 of this. When it comes to the cars own wiring, does the manual that comes with Intel state which wires to look for on the car model. Or did you figure the placement on your own.
travis malcolm sorry about that. I have since edited the video description for this. I will not be using my sensors that I have purchased separately from the kit. I will be using the ones that came with the gauges as it is programed to this setup.
PuppetKicker oh okay, good thing I didn't go with the 5.3's equipment lol. Do you plan on making a video on how you're going to do that setup? I'd like to know what other items I'll need to buy. Thanks again!
travis malcolm yes I will be making a video this week showing the rest of the install that will be covering how to wire it to the truck and how to install the gauges. I will be using the sensors that came with this dash cluster kit.
Chasemanuti I'm in the process of finishing my shop. I'll be installing them in my truck this weekend. I love how they look. I have already tested them and they look great.
I have an 86 GMC. Instead of a tach my truck has a large gas gauge and there's an empty gauge on the lower left. Does anyone have any idea what I should do if I want to fit this on my truck?
Lonnie's Garage, whats up lonnie, we just talked a few ago, listen my problem with my plug from the steering columb does not have numbers, it has letters and they are are not in alphabetical order I did change the steering columb once

Out the bocks would the parts work for an automatic transmission, or is it required to be a manual.
I'm running and auto transmission

I want to do this but I'm kind of scared too

Hey sorry I'm unable to see your reply, why can't we use the 5.3's stock sending unit or temp sensor? Thanks for the reply!
travis malcolm sorry about that. I have since edited the video description for this. I will not be using my sensors that I have purchased separately from the kit. I will be using the ones that came with the gauges as it is programed to this setup.

PuppetKicker I'm doing the exact same build, just curios why you didn't tap into the 5.3's temp sensor and oil sending unit?
I have an 86 GMC. Instead of a tach my truck has a large gas gauge and there's an empty gauge on the lower left. Does anyone have any idea what I should do if I want to fit this on my truck?
