@@JoeCreator WOW How did you figure out it was something dating? The hand writing are “qualities” of their adult child, and of the potential candidate that they are looking for. If you are interested, you can probably watch Paul Merton in China, I think he even had a “date” with a girl after talking to her parents in the matchmaking corner.

People in the park with a piece of paper in front of them are parents trying to make match (相亲）for their children, a special kind of "blind date" where you go on a "date" without having to be there in person...So what's writen on the paper is their children's personal information for other parents to see if they could make a good match. This is a very interesting thing in many Chinese cities as young people are busy and more and more unwilling to go on dates and eventuall get married, and the matchmaking corner in Shanghai People's Park is one of the most famous in China.
