Just booked my tickets to bohol and been planning my trip since starting your series on the Philippines. You inspired me to travel for the first time in my life, so salamat po jon! :)
Love your videos. How you immerse with the people. You're a lot of Fun. I'm Filipino but grew up in Canada. And not Fluent with the pronunciation of the Filipino Dialect. Still learning like you. Keep Going.

Hey Jonathan! I recently stumbled into some of your vlogs. I would like to express my admiration and appreciation for what you are doing - immersing yourself into the Filipino culture, trying out our food (even the "strange" ones), and developing relationship with my fellow Filipinos. I am originally from Siargao island, but grew up in Metro Manila, and worked and lived in Cebu. I also lived in the UK for many years. Currently, I am based in Singapore. Kudos to you, matey! May your tribe increase! 🙂🙏💚

Good video bro, yeah that was a cockfight, each to there to own if want to watch but cool you stopped and chatted with the locals outside of it. Easy scooter drives along those beautiful views looked amazing and kudos to you sharing 3B's nice little resort.

Hello Jonathan, nice to see you enjoying the beach area! You are lucky I have not been to any of those places and I’m from there originally! Looks like a lot of fun! I plan to go there and retire early! Take good care my friend!
So many Filipinos that have moved abroad are planning on retiring here! I hope my videos are helpful in showing you areas you may want to visit when you come back! Thanks for watching!

The first time i visited Siargao, everybody was very chill. Island tourists spots we're superb, even the Sohoton Cove was worth the visit. Nightlife is amazing, walking the roads felt very safe. Overall an awesome experience.
@@travelescapesOFFICIAL Yay! Keep it up man, it makes me little homesick seeing all the beautiful places of my country you shown, well I haven't been in all of them but been to few. Hi hi to Anne hugs x

I am going back to the islands in December, for a month. I was thanking of riding the island of Mindanao Island. What is your thoughts. With some of the trouble on that island. Where should I land and find a bike? And so on.
oh i love how isolated that Alegria beach area is! 😍☺️city life can be tiring at times. you mentioned before that there's place in northern siargao where the people living there belongs only to one family. is that Alegria?
Very peaceful and isolated! The town with one family was in Pacifco where we stopped and walked on the beach and talked to the surf instructors! I show it again in the next video when I drive back, I stop and talk to the woman who told me they were all one family.
i heard you mentioned several times youre planning to live on the island and thats good really good that you find the island as your residential option. however, Philippine laws is strict since foreigners cannot personally buy and own a lot. But, you have options either acquire Philippine citizenship or marry a Filipina 😁
Also don’t worry about the kids…most kids in Philippines are so playful and likes talking to people specially on foreigners they really ask to many questions not just on foreigners from abroad but people that are not from their place even if your also a Filipino. And they are very rascals but they r not dangerous for sure…
I could tell that you like jungles and a beach nearby. You should reach out to Valentina Loving Philippines , she partly lives in Samal for 11 years now, but have just started vlogging. So does her husband Friendly Russian. I think you would love that place. They have different fruit trees and you could hear wild birds in their land. That’s somewhere you haven’t been.
Clear your scheduled calendar and as long as you stay in a safe place? You will truly enjoy the friendly locals and the never ending amazing nature the Philippines could offer.❤👍
Usually around the world, its called Smoothie but in the Philippines its usually called Shake for fruit blend drinks. Also Sukli is tagalog. For the change in Bisaya and Ilonggo, its called Kambyo
Jonathan, how are you? Have you been to Limasawa Island? Since you live in Bohol, just take super boat (super ferry?) to Cebu, then, another boat ride again to Limasawa. Its a historic place.
I think that "weapon" is for agricultural purposes? Hehehe it's quite a common sight in the provinces. Kids holding bolo to cut grass or fruit trees hahaha
That’s good idea Jonathan, Keep using some filipino words in your videos and let us know the English of it so we can learn some basic bisaya and tagalog too, hahaha

I remember being taken to a cockfight in the jungle of bali with some local guys, was one of my fondest memories, my guy bought one of those losing roosters and brought it home for his grandma to cook, she made an excellent soup with it. Good times.
Sukli is more tagalog. Im visayan so we use the word CAMBIO, means change in spanish. If youre from spain or latin america you will survive living in the Visayas and Mindanao because there are almsot 10,000 words in spanish that we been using for the past 500 years.

Hi Jonathan…it’s so nice to see you enjoy ur stay in the Philippines…I just want you to know that Bisaya is not the national language in Philippines…Tagalog/Filipino is our national language in Philippines…Bisaya is only used or spoken at Visaya Region so if your not is Visayas you speak in English/Tagalog because other people don’t speak and understand Bisaya like if you go to Manila or at northern part…and also sukli is Tagalog not Bisaya…
Don't misunderstood, that kid probably have that “hatchet” (or bolo in some term) because it is used to cut woods. The time you met them is around the time that kids like them gathers or assembles to go to a nearby mountain or hill to gather and bring firewood down to their house. It's a fun time of the youth, well at least for me haha Edit: It's pretty safe and they don't venture that far. Also, most of the time, they have adults with them. They only took dry/fallen woods, we have laws after all-dunno if the law's applicable in that part of the country
2K per night for me it's expensive, maybe that price if it's ah pension house or something with good facilities, but If it's just an ordinary room 2k it's so expensive, maybe It's just because they know they are lots of foreigner and tourist that is why the price is high, in some place in mindanao there is some Pension house with good fasilities and very cheap for back packers. you can rent for about 500 or 600 pesos for 1night.
Any background on your German friends? Their English has almost no hint of an accent. Do they work/live in USA? Or are the schools just that good in Germany?

Cockfighting is not only in the Philippines, I believe it is commonly found throughout the Southeast Asian region, including here in Indonesia. Cockfighting in my country has also been a culture in society since ancient times, but since our government banned all forms of gambling for good in the early 70s, cockfighting has slowly disappeared itself from the culture of our society. Of all regions in Indonesia, only Bali still legalizes cockfighting because the local government insists that it is their culture that must be preserved, and guarantees that it no longer involves gambling in it, but still gambling is still often found..
