"The cabinet should look like it has always been there." As we mentioned in an earlier video on this bathroom, the design is based on a simple narrative - that this room was once a butler's pantry and it was changed to a bathroom, over the years, by the original owners. Is this true? Who knows, but the purpose of the narrative is to answer questions and resolve design debates, when they crop up. This is just one reason that having a clear, unified, design concept is really key.
Very nice window with stained glass, and that it's too small is nothing, a shelf always comes in handy. Beautiful hinges. Thanks to your creativity, you managed to figure out how to get out of the situation.👍
The door is Wonderful but in my opinion a small drawer would've been more practical as well as more visually supportive of the weight of the door. And a good call in adding the outlet!
You’re right, we may need something to help visually. @JamesABeckHouse had the idea of adding the corner braces, which would do that as well. When making these decisions, we refer to the narrative. In this case, the cabinet is meant to look like it was always there, just modified when the room was converted to a bathroom
Thanks. We made it modular, so that we could switch the cubby out (with a different back, or a drawer) The stained shelf sits on hidden legs, and is tightly fit, so that it seems to the bottom part of the cabinet. The door trim at the bottom is attached to the shelf, rather than the cabinet

Either place is fine…the top could be for pretty decor and the bottom for a box of Kleenex in a pretty box. Make a cover so you don’t see the drain pipe.
Love the idea of a pretty box of Kleenex. Or, a little mirrored tray with fancy soaps and stuff. We worry that a cubby at the top would be hard to clean and collect dust. Starting to feel like it's a lot to clean, already!

Cubby at the bottom is nice. Also, a pencil sharpened chop stick is great for removing paint without damaging the glass.
