Finally a solution iv been completely violating my console in ways I never thought were possible and now it’s time to get the drill out; now that’s what I call a custom Xbox 😂
Mine does the noise when I press the eject button, but it doesn’t actually eject the disc it just makes the grinding noise. Any ideas what it could be ?
Sounds like it could be the same gear, it grinds because its stuck, if it sticks open it wont hold the dvd like in the video but if it refuses to eject then it could be sticking closed too.
mines not grinding but im not sure what it is. for me it makes a sound like the disc being moved back and forth which im very confused on because it randomly happened

I'm not sure if this is what mine is doing but mine makes a simmalier noise. it does not do it consistently, but what it willl do is if I try to insert a disc the the tryay wont load it. like it's stuck or something. and while my xbox is running it will make a "grinding" or simmalier noise. what could it be
*Mine just makes random noises random times or makes a loud thud when it ejects but when i insert a disk it spins it up then the optical reader moves once then stops and i have to constantly eject and reinsert intil it spins up and realises there is a disk*
@chris 1977 *Mine stopped taking discs I just disconnected all wires going to the drive board to the Lazer and disc roller mechanism so the only thing is the drive board connected to my Xbox one so it can update*
Hi bro my xbox has a problem where I press the eject button and it makes the ping sound like there's a disc in the xbox but there isn't and does a little sound like it would normally to eject the disc can you help ( It also doesn't take any disc the foam that normally slides it in automatically is blocked I have to force the disc in)
I put plastic film over the drive so no dust can enter. I lift the film when i change the game. But i don't need to change games, i just got it for red dead.
My disc will go in half way in so i have to push manually and same with ejecting to if i am not quick kt will go back in the console and this is on the xbox one s plz read dis

My disc when inserted makes somewhat of a "rrrrr" noise. It spins, though sounds like it's dying. It also stops after a minute of this and proceeds to act like there wasn't a disc in there in the first place, making no further noises. It also does read them, but only halfway. I tried to install Forza via disc and while it did start installing, it stopped halfway due to being unable to read the clean fine disc.
Yeah I have the same problem on my xbox I was just afraid that it would overheat when the top cover is off but since you told me yours is still doing fine just makes me feel better
Bruv, does your intelligence not tell you that this is a tutorial and not for himself. He will get a new drive off camera I bet, but he showed us a fix.
Dude, does your intelligence not allow you to actually comprehend what he says in the video? Listen to it and you will have your answer as to why he didn't replace the drive.
@@disco5721 Thing is you can't change drives with these, they are code locked to the console. So I'm using it like this with the top of the case drilled out and a plastic flap to shield the drive just like i said in the video haha.

My laser reader is the thing actually grinding because it can’t move back and forth on it’s on will. What do I do?
I don't know but it sounds like a gear issue, try gear grease for lubrication and check the rubber belt if it has one, it could be dryrotted

My Xbox won’t read any discs and it also doesn’t come up with any error and I don’t know what to do???

You can play midnight club by downloading it from the xbox store if you don;t have a game disc

MrJohnson19 yeah that happens at first, then it gets worse and just makes the noise when you put a disc in.

Yep she's got a big hole it the top and it works fine!

When I put a disc in, it only accepts it about half way through and then makes the grinding noise. How do I fix this?
looks like its the same gear, all i know is try to repair it the same way, also try tilting the console back when you insert the game
