i just re-watch this awesome video during covid-19 quarantine life. give me warm heart feeling
I’ve been dreaming about bikepacking in Europe but your video has certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities in my homeland. But yes, the heat is a massive obstacle.

Beautiful and meaningful editing!
"The lamps are different but the light is the same" - Rumi -
Beautiful analogy, thank you.
I tell you what, the choreography, music choice and flow of this video is superb. You give a good insight into the parts of the beautiful country less travelled by tourists and a great journey. I could watch it many times over. Thanks for sharing
I’ve watched it many times! Much love!
You’re amazing! Greetings from Toronto, Canada 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Way better than Rapha vids! Pure joy to watch
I didn’t know how you guys managed to shot with absolute beautiful choreography while bikepacking. Well done.

Malaysia begitu indah ... Saya pasti mesti melawat dan menunggang basikal
You are welcome to Malaysian, kita boleh mengelilingi Malaysia dengan basikal.
nice intro shots edit and music.
it's hard to just STAND there & NOT move! I'd tried it. Sweats are STILL pouring down me face! 99% humidity at all time. Buds, u were BIKING in it! Ain't no way this was gonna b torture-free. Sure looks beautiful tho! Bravo on a job well done!
amazing ride, amazing places, respect from Indonesia!
Thank you for discovering my beautiful country. Hope you guys enjoy your advanture!
Great Video...glad u guys enjoyed the Cameron Highlands sufferfest....am surprised the Police gave u guys a green light for the Genting Highlands climb....thats a dream for most cyclist in malaysia ....anyway kudos and great stuffs from you guys.....cheers
Hi there, we were your audience from Malaysia... We find that you have a very nice video and visuals that potraying the beautiful Malaysia to the world... Nice shots, nice editing and nice story... Thank you..
Hope that you really enjoyed your trip to Malaysia..
However, we found that you had a bit confused in this video editing at min 17:00 until 18.33 where you had used our Azaan (for Islam) as the clean sound but the cutaways were the visuals in the temple (for Hindu)... It will be nicer if you put on a lil more sensitive in religious editing part next time.. ✌️
❤️ From Odisha
18:00 so peaceful :)
Malaysia is freakin hot and awesome. Comeback again guys. God bless you guys. May the jungle soul be with you.

Malaysia means (...) hahhaha and and the wee idea was a great one too! Nice shots! Enjoyed the rest of the video too :) I am going there soon! I will remember the video. Hope u guys stay friends! Take care!
With ‘bikepacking’ i expected something else than cycling from hotel to hotel, but maybe my expectations where off? Very well made none the less.
We weren't brave enough to camp in the rainforest! And hygiene/safety is a big thing when riding 100+ mile days in 38c+ weather. More camping next episode, we promise.
Awesome. Well done.
Thanks to all brought me with u till the cycle ride end.
Nice filming, cycling under hot sun in malaysia,
is just like cycling in a sauna room. 🧖
Amazing journey and amazing filming
Daintree Rainforest - Queensland, Australia = OLDEST RAINFOREST
Great video! Planning my bike trip to Malaysia in less than 30 days. Said you packed light.
1.Given space constraints, Anything you wished you brought but didn’t?
2. Water filter? Or was potable water easy to find?
3. With who/where at the airport did you store your bike box? At the airline baggage?
4. Most hotels prepaid/prearranged?
Awesome adventure awesome vibe!!!!
Nice video!!! great adventure guys
hi man? are u still in Malaysia? I am planing a on months trip around the country next month
Sorry, not been since back in 2018, but it is an amazing country especially for cycling.
@@FrictionCollective any cool dirt road or scenic road that you recommend?
@@romanandfizah if you can, ride up to the Cameron highlands on the 59, it’s beautiful up there. We rode on the road everywhere so no dirt roads I’m afraid.
@@FrictionCollective cool, thanks for the tips- i drove there many times, yes its beautiful🤗- check my video cycling in Mongolia you may like it- take care
Cool guys. Cool!
You guys are awesome, cycling up Cameron Highland. , When ever i drive up or down Cameron Highland, i always ask myself when the bend and the curve going to end.,
I suggest you guys do cycling on East Malaysia too. Maybe from Kuching, Sarawak to Kota Kina Balu, Sabah. You all have to pass by Brunei ( another country). Mountain bike more suitable.
Chiang Cheng Kooi haha thanks man! Yeah it was a crazy crazy climb. Two years have passed and still haven’t cycled anything remotely as big since! We can’t wait for our next MTB tour. Check out ‘Velo 2.5’ for our mini UK mtb tour
how about planning on riding from sarawak to sabah?from kuching to kudat tanjung simpang mengayau the tip of borneo. end to end..u guys will be amazed by it..just a suggestion..btw nice video..i love it.
roads from sibu to bintulu not very suitable for bicycle riding. especially you have a support car following you.
Nice video. I hope that i would have my own bikepacking adventure one day
Wow, your sound & visual effect. Five star. 👍🏼
Awesome!
awesome !!!!!!
fantastic video making
Nice trip, nice video
Nice..
This was a fun video to watch, great editing work, great shots from the different places, motivating to cycling! hope you guys make another video for 2019, to see where the road takes you next! 🚴♂️✌
We ended up being crazy busy this year, however, we have made a Velo 2.5 UK Edition, that'll be coming out soon. It's a much smaller adventure but plenty of ridiculous adventure.
@@FrictionCollective ❤
Road cycling isn’t my thing but I enjoyed this a lot. Really well edited 👍
Stevo B Really happy to hear this, check out the others in the series, Velo 2.5 and Velo Vietnam for more if you like!
Masterpiece!!🔥🔥
Welcom to Malaysia
Greenery over Concrete anyday...
just unreal.....im about head off from samui to chiang mai,,if weather holds out .im doing doi suthep inthanon is beyond me.. but those views are incredible
Love this video! 😍
Home sweet home
Very nice trip guys but i would expected a bit of wild camping and self support.
We were completely self supported. But no wild camping in the jungle, we weren't brave enough for that!
Fantastic editing, really inspires me! I got a question about the final part, you arrived at the airport via bike. Did you have bike boxes or some sort of set up already at the airport to fly out?
We stored bike boxes at the airport. It worked out less than getting a taxi to and from the airport with our bikes in boxes and saved us the trouble of finding replacement boxes and packaging at the end of our trip. Worked out well.
Very high quality shot. I really enjoyed this video. Keep up the good work. Will there be more travel?
Thanks. There's definitely another on the way soon!
Luggage-wise, your setup looks pretty minimal for as much time as you spent on the road. What I want to know is, where did you keep the drone?
In the awesome frame bag from Restrap, the Dji drone fits perfectly in the forward part of the bag. Go check www.restrap.com for more of their stuff. But yeah, we did pack light. Only 1 pair of pants! Haha
Which cameras did you use? Super very nice video and route!
Recycla thanks for watching. We used a Sony A6500 with a 20mm pancake lens and DJI Mavic Air drone.
@@FrictionCollective Plus a couple of gopros
Are you on Strava? Or do you have gpx files of the route? I want to do this route, it looks nice.
Hi
Nice video, did you have any support car, bikebacking for 1000 miles with an indurance or gravel bike is a tough job since there is no room for the necessary things that you need for living.
H D No support car no, we packed all the things into our Restrap bike bags and lived out of those for the three weeks. We packed very light
Hola Amigos, what an amazing Trip, Jesus Christ. I was stunned watching it. Cheers from Germany...I love cycling too. I have been in Denmark by bicycle, with my wife our son and dog. I put a few videos on my channel with englisch subtitles, if someone is courious. Take care, Volker
Im crying to watch how beautiful my country is.
What kind of bikes did you have ?
the oldest rainforest is in borneo. i thought you guys ride in borneo bcos that would be impressive than in peninsula m'sia
It's so hot ... yet at minute 21 the cops are wearing jackets!
do you have the gpx log and itenary? Could you please help to prepare it share it in google drive or some other way? Interested to study the route...
Would you be willing to share gpx files of your route. I live in KL.
Hi, I'm interested in what are the saddle packs that you use? Can someone tell me?
We were supported by Restrap and used their 14 litre saddle bag for this trip. Their bags are amazing and we’d highly recommend!
17:00 respect
there are some greedy man...destroy the jungle...at many part in west n east malaysia.....sioll mmg sioll
AZAN ♥️
17:27 is the only part this video got it wrong. That’s the calling to pray for Muslims, background video is Hindus going to temple. 😬
For people outside Malaysia, this video is what we call a rojak video. The sequence shots of the places are not in order. Even the sounds dont match the event potrayed. This might look good for you guys. But for us natives.. -facepalm. Haha. But good try, please do better next time.
malaysian police if you explained or reason with them nicely eventually they will let u if it didnt go againts any harm or like legit criminal law
23:09 kau berak tepi jalan.. betul tak sempat cari tandas eh.. hahahaha
the movie was good but the view is not wide enough it s still too shallowed... sorry not shallowed but narrowed
This film would only be 1/3 of the length it is if all the slow motion footage was cut out and shown at normal speed. And they weren't even carrying much luggage or load and they still struggled! I have toured Malaysia and lots of countries in SEA on a touring bike with panniers and never struggled like these guys seemed to. Love the heat and love the climate. Much prefer it to cold miserable depressing summers in the UK.
Sad to see so much of the country is now covered in palm oil plantations where jungle once stood. Tragic.
KL is a nightmare city to cycle in as everywhere is for cars. Huge highways with fast driving traffic everywhere. Everyone drives everywhere. Mental.
You did 100+ miles/day as well?
@@rene78 125-150.
Malaysia still managed to maintain more than 50% of its landmass as pristine virgin jungles.
The palm plantations that most ppl can visibly see along the highways are the ones that are closer to civilisation. These plantations feed the people, provide jobs, education, safety and security to the people in rural areas so that they are not left out.
The one that I do agree with you is driving. Since Malaysia is also a country that design and fully manufacture cars, there will be a need for car market in Malaysia to sustain the economy.
I hope in the near future the government and private sectors will innovate more ideas for making sustainable cities with great public transportation systems so that people would depend less on driving.
Enjoy Malaysia and if you’re at home, stay home and stay safe.
Sapa nama brader tu. Aku nak mintak sign autograph.
